first of all i know there really good tutorials by wikkid in the radicon how-to forum. and ive read ALL of them. but none of them seem to tell you where to start all of them are designed in a way that seems like their assuming you have some skills or knowledge prior to reading them, like for example wikkid tells you to use "the putty" as far as i can see he never says what brand it is. he also has a filler that looks nearly the same as the putty but does not differentiate the 2. he only names the brand of the fuzor.
im not saying anything against wikkid he knows what hes doing, ive even spoken to him and he agrees that bcause of the length of time hes spent customizing, that his tutorials might not be very beginner friendly.
ive also looked at other internet styrene and scratchbuild tutorials, but there are not many. this is not liek other times where ive just tried to get info without doing any real research. i have tried but i am lost... so please help?

now that thats out of the way i want to know how to scratch build, here is what i know and dont know...
i know
1. alot of people use styrene for the body/limbs/weapons
2. apoxie or fixit sculpt is good for heads
i dont know
1. everything else
---
so here are my questions
1. what is the exact list of tools/products i need for scratch building with styrene? and how much would you recommend paying for each?
2. what brand/type of styrene should i buy? how much should i aproximately pay for it? how much should i buy to start off? where can i buy styrene?
3. what is the red putty i need for making heads? is that red putty what i should be using?
4. at the moment i want to learn how to scratch build tf animated figures are there any exact skills i need to replicate the look of tf animated figures?
5. what paints should i be using on styrene scratch builds? will tamiya still work?
6. what is the use of molding heads? is it only to replicate a head? or do you do it so you can have a blank slate to work with so that you can mold new head/face features and have a head that is already the size you need?
7. is learning how to re shell important? because at the moment i am only interested in animated customs?

thank you for looking, im hoping you can all be of help to me! if there is anything i missed or you think i need to know that is not mentioned above please feel free to mention it!
