Ideas for a Transformers: Energon rewrite

I have always thought that the major weakness of the Energon cartoon was its intense focus of the plot around Unicron. The second part of the story actually starts falling apart due to this focus, because Unicron becomes something the Autobots can't defeat, and something the Decepticons can't control. After what seemed like the final battle between Optimus Prime and the revived Unicron, the unmaker returns yet again, this time possessing Megatron/Galvatron's mind. The show then has to tie itself up somehow, with the final battle between Optimus Prime and Galvatron having absolutely no point, and the series ending where the previous one, Armada, did, with Galvatron sacrificing himself nobly rather than be controlled by Unicron any longer. It just feels like the characters have to focus so much on Unicron in this series that they don't have time for each other, especially in the cases of Optimus Prime and Megatron. I mean, we already know from Beast Wars, Beast Machines, and Armada that David Kaye's Megatron and Gary Chalk's Optimus play well off of each other. Megatron's failings in this series surprised me the most. David Kaye's Megatron is clever, scheming, and incredibly focused on his triumph over anything, everything, and everyone in his way. To think that he would focus so much energy into a weapon, a sentient weapon that showed countless times that he couldn't successfully control it, is just ridiculous. He never even takes time to increase his own powers, apart from reformatting his Star Saber early on in the series, and absorbing the Super Energon to become Galvatron towards the end. It's like the moment in Revenge of the Fallen where Megatron calls The Fallen "Master". Megatron has no "Master", and he alone leads the Decepticons! Any other situation is simply out of place and confusing.

That is why I am interested in rewriting the Energon cartoon's storyline. I already have a general idea for the plot, as well as for a few characters. If anyone is interested in working on this, or would like to know more about my ideas, reply to this topic or shoot me a message.

I'd like to hear more about this, and if I like them maybe work on it. I love the Unicron trilogy, and I feel like Energon is what seriously holds it back

My ideas follow the original story to a point, the point where Megatron is revived, and then begins to differ. He come back, brands Scorponok, and retakes command, as is originally written. The only thing different before this point is that there is no Alpha Q. Rather, Scorponok is the one leading the Terrorcons and what's left of the Decepticons in the effort to revive Unicron and his home planet. When Megatron returns, he discovers that exposure to enough liquid Energon at once, rather than overloading the circuits of the robot exposed, is absorbed into its superstructure, increasing his energy capacity, durability, and strength. He then sets out to use the Terrorcons to capture enough Energon to revitalize his Decepticon soldiers, allowing each one to absorb as much Energon as possible, so that they can overpower the Powerlinking Autobots.

This, not the revival of Unicron, is the impetus for my envisioned story line. I have multiple plot and character details planned, and if you are still interested in working on this with me, we can share our more detailed ideas with each other as the first step of the process. For now, I just wanted you to get a general idea of what I'm going for to see if its something you'd want to work on. Hopefully you'll like it.
