...Sentinel Prime.

I knew he was turning on the Bots but I had no idea it would be a full-blown HEEL turn. I mean, he didn't just shoot Ironhide in the face, he straight up KILLED THE **** OUT OF HIM. It's too bad they killed him off; he would have made a great villain for the next movie (when or wherever that may be).

Considering Megatron, Starscream, Shockwave, Soundwave, Barricade, and just about every Decepticon died. There is definetly NOT gonna be a 4th movie. A reboot, yeah it might happen, but there will never ever ever ever, and you can quote me on this, EVER be a 4th movie.

It seems Bay thought nobody was gonna touch his baby, so he had to make sure no sequel could be spawned from DOTM.

Well I dunno. I'm sure the potential 4th movie could think up some McGuffin like the All-Spark to bring back the dead Decepticons. I know this is a tired idea but you could have Unicron revive Megatron as Galvatron. This movie is going to kill at the box office this weekend. Hasbro probably sells a ton more toys because of the movies. I don't think this franchise is dead yet. A reboot is possible yes, but I hope they work with what Bay built. I actually like the movieverse alot and would hate to see it end (though it does end with a bang). If the Pirate movies can get another trilogy I don't see why Transformers can't (Yes I know they have johnny Depp on board for all of them, Pun intended). Also another thing, the only character I'd count as truly dead is poor Ironhide, poor guy got vaporized. Everyone else still has a corpse for a random Matrix or All-Spark Shard to be thrust into.

And on topic with the OP, I agree. Sentinel Prime was really awesome. Very much a character of such desperation to save his planet that he'd go against his teachings and student to save it. His desperation drove him to insanity. Very cool to see a villain in these movies with more motivation than the Dr. Doom "Take over the world" scheme. Not to say that I don't like Megatron in these movies, but the Fallen...yeah.. the Fallen was straight up old school comic book stuff.

Yes, if you completely ignore the characters that were created post-OP death, then i'm sure you might think that way. But truth be told, my young bayformer fan, there were actually 4 seasons of 'The Transformers' back in the 80s - 2 seasons of OP and Megs and 2 seasons of these guys called Rodimus Prime and Galvatron.

So, a 4th movie, rather than a reboot is completely feasible.

Not quite...

Megatron, Starscream, Shockwave, Soundwave, Barricade did die. All of them.

There are countless Decepticons all over the world from deploying the pillars, plus whatever ships were around the world.

There's no guarantee Cybertron was wholly destroyed.

There is always room for creation and imagination. They can't come up with a new villain? Bull. Can't use a classic villain? Bull.

Oh and that whole thing about Hasbro making TF: The Ride for a two-fold reason: 1.) To make people feel like they're really in it. 2.) To help people bide their time until the next film comes along. (Don't believe me? It's on TFW's front page. Hasbro wants to continue the movies. They made this clear.)

Too many loose ends. Could they end it as is? Sure. Should they with such potential? Probably not.
