iGear's Delicate Warrior Another Look

A lot has been made of the Perfect Effect Motorbot lately. She's great, most of us who have her can agree on that. I saw a lot of negative comments on iGear's Delicate Warrior as part of that discussion that I didn't think were necessarily fair. So I took a small set of pics to give us another look at this great figure for those who may still be undecided.

Delicate Warrior's great. I'm fully satisfied with her as my classics Arcee.

Delicate Warrior is a great item and did not deserve the bad press it got. People were still hurt over Valkyrie and I presume misplaced their rage. Her price point wasn't the best though. This toy has a great robot and vehicle mode, though it comes with a display stand it stands on its own, highly poseable and has an almost perfect likeness to the on screen character. She is my classics Arcee. I will not be buying Motorbot, well, not the pink version anyway. I could use the blue one as Chromia.

BTW, thank you for this thread Counterpunch, my only complaint about Delicate Warrior was her backpack was a bit too high in robot mode. Now I see your pictures I realise I have mine mistransformed. I have no complaints about Delicate Warrior.

Edit: Actually, I do have 1 complaint: Why couldn't Hasbro have done this by now?

Im kind of wishing I had picked one up at Botcon. What stopped me is that since I have both Valkarie and Medic, I did not want to upstage Medic since Igear never did a repaint. KO Toys once talked about KO repaints but it never happened. I might still get one if the price drops. But I gotta agree with Counterpunch that this is the best Classics Arcee. Period.

I think the body looks great and hearing the articulation is that good makes me want pick her up , however the head sculpt well the face is what puts me off after watching season 3 lately the face doesn't look like arcee it's an excellent stand in and a character i realy want but i'd like to see hasbro take her on first.

I think Delicate warrior fits perfectly, in terms of how she looks. But in other aspects, she is pretty crappy. I have my review below, for anyone who is interested.

http://teletraan2.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/Arcee

PS. Delicate warrior is not by iGear, they are merely a distributor. :P

Wondering when/where the Elita -1 version will ever be released? Iirc, Firestar was also in the works (though her face sculpt was to put it mildly not too nice).

And yes Counterpunch, this version though lightyears away from PE Motorbot(those guys had it easy 'cause Arcee + a motor cycle alt mod makes a perfect, pardon the pun, gynoid mode)

Arcee G1 is shoe horned in a blocky car mode. Try making a feminine looking 'bot from those specs. More or less, despite the curves implemented on her, she'll come out as a shell former. The Valkyrie released by Impossible toys(did I get the right?) tried to make her too feminine but ended up with a preying mantis looking monstrosity. Spindly extremities and an over sized head.............uggh!

Delicate warrior was far from perfect but she's the best version we have to contend for now, until Takara eventually releases an official one (or simply just release the proto type that one of their head engineers made when he was a rookie (probably iirc Hirofumi Ichikawa).

Mine btw sits on G1 Hotrodimus' right shoulder (like literally) :x

Yes, it is pretty common knowledge now that iGear is just the distributor of DW along with most of their releases.

I think crappy is a pretty strong word for most of your complaints. Does the figure have Hasbro-like durability? No. Is the figure brittle? No. I wouldn't call her crappy bc she is a little "delicate." Just a heads up as well, the paint on the die cast parts of my figure is spot on. I don't see any sloppiness at all.

The off-shade of white would be my only complaint I think.

I like the MechTech weapon you gave to Springer Mike. Ironically, I gave him the same one. >:oP

I think this is a great looking Arcee in both modes, but I think it is a pretty crappy 'transformer'. **** just gets crammed underneath her. If you want something that looks nice for your shelf, it's a good purchase. If you want something to play with and transform, this probably isn't the figure you want.

I like Delicate Warrior, but somehow I feel like Motorbot (?) is a better Classics representation.

Delicate Warrior is very show accurate, which is an incredibly awesome feat in and of itself, but I think she just doesn't fit in with the rest of the Classics line.
All of which have been updated and modernised and given a more detailed look. Some even homage different, more recent/ iconic representations/ incarnations of the characters.

For instance Perceptor, looks a hell of a lot like IDW Perceptor and turns into something looking like a realistic version of Animated Perceptor.

Delicate Warrior however, well she just looks out of place.
Image

She almost looks like she jumped of the screen, which would have been awesome a few years ago, but now just makes her look weird in the Classics line.

The PErfect effect offering bring in a G1 ish robot-mode, inspired by the idw look, loads of modern detailing and articulation, plus it homages the now more iconic bike alt-mode for her (which I'm still iffy about).

That however, doesn't make DW crappy.

Critiques for G1 toon accuracy?? That kinda new, lol.

The classicsverse has a few. Even if they aren't as close as Arcee, I'd consider Hot Rod, Bumblebee, and Starscream to be fairly toon accurate. But I've said it once and I'll say it again, the classiceverse has so many conflicting styles just within it's own various lines, and you're in a whole new ball game when you toss in 3rd party figures.

But it's all in the beholder, I suppose.

Hey bud, any chance we could get a pic of that movie trio with Motobot instead of Delicate Warrior? I'm really finding it difficult to decide on an Arcee. I know I'm getting a version of Motobot for certain but I can't decide which deco. Pink would obviously fill in for Classics Arcee for me. Blue, I really can't place. She's too much of a departure from Chromia to work for me. :/ Thoughts, suggestions?

Arcee and her badass sorta-twin sister?

An animation error from 5 faces of Darkness?

A miscolored Paragon medic?

Arceeimus Prime?

I'd like to see a pic of Motobot with some of the S3/TF:TM Classics or 3rd party characters too.

As for Blue Motobot and who she could be...Nightracer? A fairly substantial departure from the original, but she's a sort of midnight blue colour, and she's got a racer-ish alt mode. Vehicle-mode Antagony? Devcon's Gal-pal? Glyph? Override (both the Cybertron and TF2010 repaint of Cyberverse Sideways can be female and the latter is blue)?

Or just make up a name for her, or reuse an existing one, or have her as Cybertron-mode TFPrime Arcee.

Well, I didn't get the pink Motobot, so I can't exactly help there. I went with the blue version because I am sort of dedicated to car-Arcee.

Now, my blue Motobot is being used as my SG Arcee.

I figure in SG she would steal the heroic blue colors of TF Prime Arcee and be a complete coward who runs away from a fight, hence the motorcycle form and sniper rifle.

I must just be unlucky then, because the consistency of the paint on mine is like porridge. I think you can see that in my picture if you look at the alt mode. Plus, the die cast part doesn't align centrally with the panel behind it in alt mode, which you can see in CP's picture. Plus, the high center of gravity and small feet conspire to splay her legs apart. If the part was plastic, all of those isses could be avoided. But, maybe I'm just unlucky ;) But, overall, I forgive all this, and the fact that one thin piece of plastic pretty much holds the entire upper body together, on the basis that she is the best representation of G1 Arcee by miles. But, there are major QC issues for the expenditure.

Completely my bad. I assumed you got the pink version as well. I like your thinking on SG Arcee and I'm sort of leaning towards the blue as well. I'm still hoping for a Flamewar deco and I'll probably hold out a bit to see what else we get from the mold. I think DW looks great but she's a bit more slavish to G1 than I like in Classics. I'm likely to get her too. She really does display nicely with those other figures. I'm just waffling.

As for the suggestions. Nightracer and Antagony are both primarily black. Devcon's gal is a much lighter blue. I wouldn't mind a Paradron medic but not in deep blue and not with all those weapons. Tools and healing devices, sure. Glyph should properly be a BB repaint. Override is a stretch in every sense and really has no place in a Classics display IMO. Chromia really is the closest homage other than Prime Arcee. I already have plenty of Prime Arcees. Screw it, I'll get em all. Heh.
