Man..a brick and mortar store out here that sells vintage toys run by a huge Transfan.. if you ever open it, my wallet will grow legs and just live in a tent outside the door.

I'd offer to lend the 2012 Nick figures for your photo albums, but I've painted the accessories with metallics. If that doesnt matter, then let me know and I'd be happy to help!

Part of the appeal of having a brick-and-mortar store would be to have the opportunity to do comics as well. We have some nice stores out here but nothing that's truly memorable like some of the really awesome toy and comic stores that I used to go to when I was a kid.

If I could get the comics going as well ... first rule for the store I'd have would be no minimum for a subscription, card charged when books come in, no restriction on how long it takes for you to come in and get them. I can't stand that as a Transformers comic collector that I can't get subscriptions at any of the stores around here because of minimum order limits and such.

Toys first, comics second. Gotta get the toys under my belt first and foremost. That's the most important thing to all of this.

My favorite part about buying vintage collections? Getting other toys and parts that are just thrown in with the collection such as this vintage 1985 Super Powers Wonder Woman toy that came in a generic 80s toy lot that was made up mostly of Turtles and He-Man.

I had this figure as a kid. I loved comic book toys when I was little. I have no idea what happened to her or any of my other comic book related toys, but I do remember having lost her for a while shortly after I got her but by accident my Dad randomly found her buried in the yard when he was doing some yard work not long before we moved to a new house around 1986.

FOC Deluxe Wave 3 and Beast Hunters Deluxe Wave 1 Found at TRU in Central Illinois today 12.31.12!!!

Postby reluctantyouth » Mon Dec 31, 2012 3:30 pm

Happy New Year's Eve :BOT: .

I know this may not be news to East and West coasters, but the Midwest sucks when it comes to even distribution or early distribution of any Transformers line period. I live in Peoria, Illinois, which is kind of in the middle of the state, and found these figures at the Toys R Us off Sterling Road. I had a half day today and decided to head to my brick and mortar TRU. To my astonishment  I picked up the following:

Beast Hunters Lazerback 2x  (gotta get my BW on!)
Beast Hunters Wheeljack 1x
FOC Deluxe Kickback 1x  (totally awesome bot sculpt!)

They also had FOC Air Raid, FOC Sideswipe, FOC Ultra Magnus, BH Bumblebee, and BH Soundwave. I also saw a fresh case of FOC Voyager Soundwave and Soundblaster. Kudos to my TRU and my Illinois distribution center. :APPLAUSE: I snagged Kickback right away and other two were just too cool to pass up. There has been a price hike though as all deluxe figures are now $15.99 even at the brick and mortar store (no news to anyone I'm sure)...total bummer if you ask me. I cannot believe these figures made it here before March. I did not have my camera so no pics attached and could not post the sightings as these figs are not on the Seibertron site yet. I hope more of the Midwest starts seeing these two lines and that FOC and Beast Hunters continue to make it here earlier before ending up at discount stores. This area has a TJ Maxx but the Marshalls closed and the 2 Ross For Less stores are currently being built...I hope to snag extra FOC come next Summer or Xmas. Thanks for checking my post. :KREMZEEK:

Thanks for the update. I merged your topic with the existing Illinois sightings forum.

FYI ... the midwest is an excellent place for new toys. People just don't expect to look for them as quickly as they should. I always find new figures within a week or so of the first U.S. sightings. The trick is to pay attention to where they're showing up nationwide and then find out when your local stores get in new figures. If you're not there early in the morning, you'll usually miss them.

Ok, looks like the new FoC wave and Prime BH hit TRU Niles/Golf mill. Popped in on the way home from work and there was 1 Magnus from FoC wave 3 left, grabbed him. There was another TF collector there and we griped about the Kickback/ Starscream being gone already.

Also they got in either 1 or 2 cases of the Prime BH deluxes- picked up Soundwave and Bee- there was another Bee, 2 Lazerback, and 2 Wheeljack still on the pegs.

Also 1 or 2 FoC Soundwave voyager for anyone looking. No Soundblaster however.

I was there around 7pm tonight. I didn't see any of the FOC wave 3 deluxes there ... but there were a few Beast Hunters left. I grabbed Laserback for myself. There was one there after I left.

Villa Park Walmart had 2 FOC Sideswipes and 1 Air Raid after I left there tonight, having bought the only Starscream and Ultra Magnus. Sorry and yay!
