Glad to see these are out, sure I'm sick of seeing the Marvel ones, but these are much better suited for the gimmick. I'll definitely pick up Optimus for the collection.

Schaumburg TRU had the Hero Mashers and the AOE Deluxe Wave 2 -- but they only had Strafe -- no Scorn or Drift. They also restocked on the Evo Grimlock 2 pack. Also, if you're into Marvel figures -- buy one, get another 40% promotion (I think I read that right). Woodfield Target also had AOE Deluxe Wave 2 -- but only Strafe.

I have pics of receipt and figures, but suck at posting them here.

Found the Hero Mashers line at TRU in Orland Park, IL. Picked up the Optimus (duh), and gotta admit, he's simple, but fun. Think I'll pick up Starscream next.

Villa Park Target had 2 or 3 Tailgate and Skrapnel sets earlier tonight, and a nice AoE endcap with a big 2-d cardboard Grimlock.

I forgot to look for the OP gift card, nuts.

I had to ask about the OP gift cards. They said

"We have them, but their behind the service desk because they're street dated."

"What's the street date?"

"Lemmie check..." walks over "The 8th."

"... It's the 9th."

"Oh."

The magic of street dates...

I already bought tickets for the AMC 30 in Barrington. BTW, went to the Schaumburg TRU today -- some of the new toys they had in stock -- Flip and Change Lockdown, Flip and Change Bumblebee, Electronic Hero Masher Optimus, Electronic Hero Masher Grimlock, and they restocked on the Evo 2 packs of Strafe and Slug. And TRU has a Buy One Get One 50%

I know this may not be the right place for this, but I wanted to type out my Chicago related thoughts about AoE.

Mild spoilers ahead.

Despite being the rallying cry for the humans in the movie Chicago was rebuilt extraordinarily well, almost like it was never damaged at all.

If you have ever been to the auto show or C2E2, you have been on the floor of a transformers factory.

The chase scene through the skies of the city was absolutely beautiful.

The editing crew did a nice job of showing "Hong kong" in the background of the old factory north of the Stevenson, except for one split second shot where you clearly see the Sears Tower.

Not sure if it's readily available -- but I purchased the last Quick N Change Drift at the Streamwood Walmart. So, if you're into Drift, the Quick N Change figure is out. Stopped by Quake West in Schaumburg. Aaron had a loose Commemorative G1 Optimus Prime. It's in great shape, but I think it's missing the blaster and the gas pump and hose thingie. Otherwise, the figure looks to be in great shape as is the trailer.

Walmart in Villa Park, Rt. 83, had a few of the newer One-Step figs, Lockdown, Bee, Hound, and Slash (I think). I bought Bee and Hound. Hound uses OP's transformation, while Bee's is all new and surprisingly good. His fists fold out, his forearms rotate, and his arms swing forward.

Happy hunting guys. Here in IL & NW Indiana we always seem to get the first sighting of the TRU MP's that get released during SDCC.

Image

I got mine yesterday afternoon from the Woodridge store and another friend of mine found some in Joliet as well as Hobart. If you know your local stores truck schedule this should be an easy grab.

Congrats! I got mine today at the Golf Mill TRU. Ran into an awesome collector from my area who goes by MrToyFan on TFW. We helped each other out to split the BOGO 50% and shared the savings so it was a win-win for both of us. Hopefully we can get him to swing on over here! Here's to a future bar gathering with a few of us or a BBQ or something.
