Overcharge
Bludgeon
Slamdance
Gutcruncher
Reverse Convoy
Doubledealer (requires extensive retooling)

I would love to see a Slamdance retool out of Blitzwing. But thinking more about it, they could also make Overlord out of him. Probably not everyone's first choice for this mold, but it might happen given Overlords recent appearances in the comics.

I've picked up Springer and Blitzwing both and just love these guys in every form, but with Sand Storm, i like the bot and VTOL mode, not much on his buggy mode, but either way im still buying it!

I wonder if hasbro can do Astro-Train and Octane like these guys?

No thank you. That robot mode of Blitzwing's would hardly do Overlord proper justice.

Looks pretty sexy. Takara's is up for preorder so I snagged it but it's not due until December, so I've got a long wait ahead.

Just picked up all three together on the Navy Base in San Diego. It was a bit surprising to see something so current on the shelves there. Therefor, in light of the ultra limited selection that we do receive on the base, I picked them "All" up. There were two of each, so I purchased a set of three for my nephew as well. Sandstorm became the favorite of the three as soon as I saw him. He looks awesome.

Those back wheels look way too big, but I guess that's so the VTOL turbines look good, which is my preferred mode anyway.

I kinda wish they went with the more toy-accurate mouthplate rather than the cartoon-accurate regular face.

kirbenvost wrote:It is truly impressive how extensive the remolding is. It actually looks like a substantial amount of plastic has been added. Which still makes me wonder why they couldn't release TF Prime Breakdown, but I should really stop being so bitter about that, lol...

The lack of Breakdown might not have had anything to do with the amount of plastic. The only official reasons we got for him being skipped were "not up to Hsbro's standards" and "no-man's land price-wise"... which are ridiculously vague and could mean anything.

So far this is my favorite of the Voyagers.

Yeah, me too I think (though I've got none of them in hand so far). It just looks sweet.

By the way, your avatar is making me hungry.

That's great seeing them together. The untrained eye wouldn't even be able to tell they're the same(ish) mold. Those giant rear wheels are starting to look a bit daft in buggy mode.

Dilemma: buy Springer and render FP Defender obsolete or buy Sandstorm and put up with those enormous wheels on the back of a character I don't even remember in the fiction.

I'll never understand why guys like you always jump at the Takara stuff when the Hasbro version is perfectly fine. And costs less.

Personal preference. What's fine for you throws others for a loop.

Then there's the delusion/myth/fact (take your pick) that TakaraTomy's stuff is superior to Hasbro. Me, I don't care.

sometimes Takara's stuff is better. sometimes I like the Hasbro stuff more. Sometimes the difference is minor enough that I prefer to choose the cheaper option.

By way of HK-TF's oscarfung we have nice a series of images showcasing Transformers Generations Voyager Class Sandstorm. Sandstorm is a heavily retooled and repainted version of the previously released Transformers Generations Voyager Class Springer. The retool give's the figure a new head, new larger rear tires for a more dune buggy look that fold out to become rotors in his VTOL mode, and more. Check out the images mirrored below.

That whole hovercraft thing is either you love it or hate it. Personally I hate it. I hope theres a 3rd party helicopter fix...

Not gunna lie, it looks really cool. But my sights are on Springer right now, and I like to keep teams even, so unless they come up with an equally-sized Decepticon counterpart (Flywheels from Blitzwing, anyone?), it's gunna have to be a pass.

Nice looking figure, and I think maybe his alt modes are a smidge more convinving than Springer. Sadly for me it isn't Sandstorm. I really loved my G1 Sandstorm when I had him for Christmas, and this doesn't quite fit what I'd like for a modern fig of him. A fine looking Autobot though, regardless ;)
Has Sandstorm had any kind of more recent comic version that this could possibly be closer to?

If anything, he'll appear in that form in the IDW comics just to sell toys. 8-}

And cool, the fans rotate! Loving him more and more.

Not that I know of. The closest thing I could find that (barely) resembles this Voyager is this:

The little backpack and maybe a bit of the torso look similar, but that's about it.

It really is a spectacular figure. Very impressive how he can support that backpack on those dainty legs. Bravo! Buggy mode looks more ridiculous every time I see it. :-?
