Exactly! This widespread use of balljoints with thinner (cheaper?) plastic even in voyager figures is the main reason that is keeping me away from this line... I usually don't have nostalgia, but these days only old lines are grabbing my attention...

The first thing that came to mind when I saw Thundertron's face was the Flying Dutchman from the Pirates movies.

It's not that bad, you guys. I have Voyager Megatron, who has ball joints in the shoulders and hips, and both sets are tight.

My Megs can't hold a pose with any limb. He can stand op. With effort.

Don't worry about the ball joints guys, the voyagers are getting so small that it wont matter. :P
And this is me hiding a concern behind a joke

Also, am I the only one? Every time I see Thundertron, all I can hear is "DIGIMON, DIGITAL MONSTERS"

Imperialdramon, yes?

really like Thundertron. Going to have to find a better weapon for him though, and possibly lose that one in a box somewhere.

He's even got Paladin Mode's colors. ;)

BTW, that series' thread has been updated.

So we have full confirmation that Ultra Magnus' hammer locks. I find it funny that out of all the Voyagers thus far he got the nod to have a locking weapon. I wonder why he was chosen like that.

Looks like Thundertron's sword locks into place too.

And suddenly Ultra Magnus looks better than Thundertron. I'm liking the way his gun looks when not in hammer mode. Might just pass on Thundertron, he looks kind of boring, and lacking in the fun poses in beast mode. Awaiting the video reviews...

Yep, same here. Sweet claw-fists, too. 8) But I'll likely pass, Beastformers don't normally do much for me.

Ultra Magnus, yes! I'm loving the hammer gun too.

Thought i'd be more excited over Thundertron. Nice detailing on him though.

That's a decent Magnus i have to admit but it's a pass for me.

1) I'm not sure about Thundertron's sword since it was being held while deployed. Although it's hard to tell since the blade is so long.

2) Let's not call Hasbro stupid, they couldn't include locks due to cost restrictions, perhaps going forward melee based weapons will lock open.

Because we're in a global recession that's led to the increase in the cost of plastic. Not because they make multiple bumblebees who is one of their most popular characters and continues to sell, just not to collectors; who don't count.

Because the kids don't want Bulkhead (who's had more story arc and screentime than Bumblebee in Prime), or Megatron, or Optimus, or anybody else. Noooo. They just want Bumblebee! They're going to sit 10 or 12 Bumblebees at a table and have a spot of tea. It's the best thing to do with fighting robots.

Look, they're wasting their expensive plastic on the PRiD figures that got FE figures (although I will give them Arcee, Megatron, and Vehicon. Those 3 are far superior) and making them worse; Mistake #1.

The retailers are buying a bunch of cases with tons of Bumblebees (which is partially Hasbro's fault for putting an extensive amount of Bumblebees in one case) because they think Bumblebee will sell more; Mistake #2 (I've seen plenty of kids crying and shouting to their moms at the store that there's nobody else but Bumblebee)

They put even more expensive plastic into non-show characters. Plastic that could have went to Breakdown, Shockwave (although I doubt they'd do that), Smokescreen, Insecticon, and others; Mistake #3.

We're turning more and more to online retail because of these stores and Hasbro screwing us all over with Bumblebees and utter pieces of crap that didn't need toys in the first place. Not saying Thundertron, Magnus, Rumble, and Kup are garbage. They're great. But the plastic used for them could have been used for the in-show Transformers listed above.

You're not expecting me to believe the mass-produce of Bumblebee has nothing to do with their budget, economic situations aside. Parents are going to get tired of buying their child their 1,000,000th Bumblebee. And you're not going to convince me that every kid is a stereotype. That every kid lacks a working mind and thinks the only Transformer in the world is Bumblebee.

And if Bumblebee sells so much, that's why a lot of retails have had the same amount of Bumblebees in the same place for 5 damn months.

There are so many bumblebees because stores tell Hasbro how to make the case layouts, heck it was stores that went to toy companies with the wave concept. Stores aren't concerned with the kids who already have Bumblebee but the kids who have a passing knowledge of who it and Prime are. I agree that there are to many bees and I'm sure Hasbro is aware but the stores are in charge for now.

I will just say that sometimes it doesn't pay to be so cheap.
I guess they are learning that =P

By the way, I read somewhere that someone from Hasbro has recognized that dotm line underperformed... they say they think it is because too much of the same characters (yeah... they are at least slow...). However, funny thing, they started to be cheap (downsizing, lighter plastic, widespread use of ball joints...) exactly with the dotm line. Maybe quality has something to do too.
