Even if you were to get it open, where would you find light piping the right size and color for him?

I can get it to pipe light, with as small key chain flashlight to the back of the head. If the eyes were painted nothing would show through.

As for Removing the head, I'll have to look at my Ironhide, and maybe i can give you some advice later.

But I can hold him up to a strong light and actually get blue eyes now, where before even with a little led keychain he didn't glow.
I'm thinking he has a lot of empty space in his head, and maybe it's possible to squeeze a little led in there with a tiny watch battery or hearing aide battery. hmm.
Does anyone know where to get little LED lights, cause they would look sick with light glowing behind them, especially Brawl IMO. His eyes lit up are evil.
