Is anyone else disapointed in Starscream (Prime)?

I've been thinking he's a joke compared to his previous incarnations this version is very weak. I mean he really isn't cut out for being a second in command for Decepticons. I mean I can see him being redeemed and helping Optimus but that's about it. The really killed my hope for him was when he found those Protoforms. I mean it's probably how he gets to fly again but clones? Wouldn't it have been better to create his own decepticons rather than clone himself?

I'm the exact opposite, I love his Prime incarnation. He's a spineless, arrogant, power hungry, backstabbing, triple-crossing, narcissistic coward. Just as Primus intended and a perfect characterisation IMO.

I'm with Magnus on this one. I love him. Especially all of his dastardly animations and blum's voice acting. He's definitely one of the more... in depth characters.

I agree with the above. Starscream is one of the very best characters on this show. He enhances every scene he is in and Steve Blums voice acting is excellent

Prime Starscream is exactly who I wanted him to be and more. He's taken over Armada as my favorite Starscream of all time.

 WOAH calm down there! lol, but seriously. He hasn't really done anything to make me really love him, but he's in the right direction. I suspect at some point he'll have some great betrayal of some sorts.

I think he's the most devious, traitorous, back-stabbing Starscream ever...and to be fair, his Stint as Decepticon leader lasted longer than any other Starscream's.

Going to echo everyone's sentiments, it's my favorite incarnation of Screamer too. I think it's because we've actually seen some of his journey to become a backstabbing third party character. After all, he started out generally loyal to the Decepticon cause.

Oh, and Steve Blum does an awsome job as him. Since Hasbro owns the license for both Marvel and Transformers, maybe a Green Goblin inspired repaint? For those who don't know, Steve Blum's performance as Starscream is similar to the one he gave the Green Goblin during "The Spectacular Spider-Man" animated series.

I think that's what makes him most interesting to me. We get to see his journey from Air Commander to a lone warrior just struggling to survive.

That would be...spectacular. 8)

I'm surprised no one's brought up how he's also the most sympathetic and relatable Starscream ever as well.

Steve Blum makes Starscream, Starscream. Simple as that. I hated the character of Starscream before Prime's Screamer came about, but I also blame Steve Blum's amazing performance as him.

I'm not saying this because everyone else seems to agree- I really do believe this is the best Starscream characterization we've gotten thus far. He is by and large my favorite Decepticon on the show and easily my favorite version and yes- a lot goes into the voice acting. He just looks and sounds so devious- it's perfect for his character.

Sympathetic and relatable? I don't know about that one, but it is a matter of opinion. I mean he's a villian through and through. He's a superstisious cowardly backstabber that more than got his come upance when his T-Cog was stolen. He has shown a few bits of sympathism I suppose(been awhile since I've seen the episodes, so perahps in the first five parter because Megs dumped on him a bit and Airrachnid left him to die/be captured), but other than that, pure villian. A well characterized villian, but a villian nontheless.

However, I do feel Armada Starscream fits the criteria. He was loyal to the end, saw the bigger picture when it came to the Autobots and Decepticons joining forces, and gains a sympathy vote for being a pawn for Megatron/Sideways. Of course, everything I've described pretty much makes Armada Screamer into a sort of Bizzarro Screamer :P .

Oh yeah, and a note about the clones: While they could bring it up again, I was disapointed they didn't follow the obvious Animated route and make them Thundercracker/Skywarp/etc. But him feeling their pain was a nice twist.

Prime's Screamer is the Apex of all previous generations. He is scary, funny, and menacing. Even his alt mode is more fitting, than an F15 or F22. F16 is fast and maneuverable, much more fitting for the persona.I was however, disappointed with the clone episode. I wanted to see others seekers. I hope that he got his T-cog back. But definitely not disappointed in the character. As many have said, almost perfect voice acting.

If they had repeated the seeker clone bit that they did in Animated, that would have been repetitive, uncreative, lazy, and a complete knock off of something that made Animated unique.

Besides, Skywarp and Thundercracker already exist as separate characters in this continuity.

And, the creators said that they want to focus on Starscream as a unique individual without having to bring in others like him. If they were to bring in Skywarp and Thundercracker, they'd probably look different from Starscream.

I agree with MightyMagnus78. Transformers Prime Starscream just might be my favorite characterization. I would still prefer if he looked more like the traditional Starscream, but the character is awesome. Unique voice, backstabbing, a schemer ... just all around awesome.

While I concede that Starscream is my favorite character on the show (or is it Knock Out?), I still hate how he tended to come off like a clown so often.

Initially, in Darkness Rising, all the elements of his insecurities were there, but you could see also what made him successful - ruthlessness, speed/evasiveness, and cunning. I love the scene when Arcee and Bumblebee have him cornered with Fowler, and he takes advantage of a tiny distraction, dodges their shots and gracefully transforms and jets out of there.

That opening degraded into a lot of whining and smackdowns. Bulkhead smacking him down and him whining in Deus ex Machina. Him DarkEnergoning up and getting his arm blown off (though it was funny!). Arachnid punking him so easily. On and on.

Season 2 is a little better, he puts up a fight and has some small victories, but in my opinion his characterization has suffered at the hands of some cheap plots in the middle of season 1. BUT - his design, his voicing, and unpredictability still make every show with him in it the better for it.

Animated Starscream is still my favorite, though. Animated made him simultaneously fearsome and silly.

Actually, second longest. Movie Starscream was left in command for at least a couple centeries (correct me of I'm wrong) while they were searching galaxies for the All Spark and Megatron was missing, plus the couple years that Megatron was dead. ;)

On Prime Starscream, I like him, but the only thing that drives me nuts is how pathetic he's made to look like when he actually DOES fight. :P Perhaps is best fight was when he was kicking around Arcee. *shrug* I was thrilled when he blasted Airachnid though, I was wanting him to get her back SO BADLY. lol

Indeed. I'd expect them to use the Dreadwing body type, as it has been explicity referred to as the "seeker" body type in Prime.

And yes, Prime Starscream is easily my favorite SS ever. I love Armada SS, everything about that character is just so right, but I have to say the same about Prime SS. Not only is the character great on his own, the sheer amount of expression they get out of the model is astounding. It never hits you how important eyebrows are to expressions until you put them on a giant robot!

I also like the Prime SS. The voice acting is perfect and he makes me laugh he is surprised. G1 SS is second to Prime SS imo
