Is it possible to re-add chrome to a TF Accessory?

Postby Mkall » Mon Sep 24, 2012 4:53 pm

Weapon: Twin Sonic Cannons
After a few years I've acquired a few accessories and bits that have lost their lustre, literally, and I'm hoping to get the chrome re-applied. Apparently it's possible, but I'm having no luck finding someone who does it.

Can this be done? Has anyone ever had it done? Anyone know someone who does this sort of thing?

At least in the US of A, there are sure to be restoration services around. Re-chroming is possible but not at a do it yourself at home style.
What I did IS uncalled for. Next time, instead of thinking 70 x 7 first I immediately responded to an insulting post with another insult. I should not have stooped to that level. My apologies for not upholding/following the site rules.

I do this on my own volition and no threats of sanctions have been meted/threatened yet. If there is, I accept it (sanctions) whatever the mods see fit to dish out.

the problem is there isn't a lot of places that do plastic chroming.
Most do it for model tree's and they are expensive per piece.
Check out my Blog for cool info on Japanese on goings! (still under Constructicon control )

Why not just paint the parts with a nice chrome paint?

I'd rather maintain the object's original style as much as possible.

@ Mkall

The closest you can emulate the chrome effect is Wave company's Kosutte ginsan.

I got mine from hobbysearch.

Now that's an interesting idea. Kind of like self-applied vac-metal. I think I'll research this. Thanks!
