Is this a fake?

I picked this up at a community market for two bucks. I didn't realize it at first but it appears to be a Cheetor in a Tigatron box. The box is different from the ones I can find online and the packaging does not seem to be disturbed at all. Either this is an error or someone is very good at repackaging. Any thoughts on this? Thanks

A few things:
1) What does the back of the card look like?
2) From what I saw from a quick google search, every version of that mold was packaged facing both to the RIGHT and standing as if on flat ground, NOT on a tilt.
3) That bubble looks...wrong. ALL sorts of wrong. There -were- rock-y texture bubbles like that, but I don't know if Tigatron was ever packaged in one. And it didn't look like that. A quick google search will show you that much for sure. It could be from a different mold though, I suppose.
4) That card lacks a hook. I'm not sure what to make of that.

Edit: Question. Does that package have a front or not? I'm laboring under the assumption that it does, but if it doesn't that might explain why the bubble looks so weird...

The back looks exactly what the regular Tigatron package looks like except it does not have the barcode anywhere. After checking the Cheetors, it is definately a Cheetor and not a Tigatron. It is packaged on a tilt but like I said, there are no indications of it being repackaged. There is no hook on the card but a hole punched out for a hook to go through, but even that hasn't even been punched out yet. This piece very much confuses me and I'm afraid to open it just in case.

Either way, $2 isn't bad.

The rock bubble and left facing position would indicate it's a first release Beast Wars Deluxe. Although Cheetor was released in a left-facing rock bubble package... Tigatron wasn't. Moreover, Cheetor in rock bubble dates from 1995, while Tigatron was first released in 1996, and only in a smooth bubble, so a factory error seems out of the question. Also, the rock bubbles had a flat lower part to accommodate a sticker again featuring the name of the character.

Beter and larger photo's would help, but all in all, this very much looks to me like a knock off. Lack of a barcode and a hole instead of a hook doesn't help its cause much either. Even his spots look wrong (blotchy) when compared to the one shown here in the toy galleries. So yeah, fake.

It is indeed a Beast Wars KO. Several of those appeared in the early days, the common trait of one kind was that they all used Tigatron cards. Sorry for the bad news.
