Yes. The world doesn't revolve around me alone. I get that. My area of assignment where I purchase my plastic "crack" (ahem TF and anime figs)is all that dependable that you have to resort to online orders to get thru. Especially the Japan market targetted products.
Some online stores prioritize their local patrons hence when a hot item is scheduled to be pre-ordered, faster than you can say refresh...they get like sold out. More or less this is common with the uber expensive SOC. But that is for another topic.
Recently, I noticed TF products, despite pre-orders being accepted, get unserved. Either this phenomena is just isolated to a specific online retailer or a much wider issue.
Examples:
1.TF Generations/Legends Brainstorm never got a second batch release
2.TF Legends Fembots as many members here can attest, did not receive their preorders
3.TF Strongarm, it's freakin hard to find one. In fact, my preorder itself has been cancelled. Is this too much demand than the supply or Tomy "again" did not forsee this issue.
This doesn't seem to happen to Hasbro releases unless Hasbro screwed up the distribution again. Most, if not all Hasbro releases have this tendency to shelfwarm (see the other thread on that issue).
Now back to Tomy. Is there anyone in the know who can verify my inferences? Are corporations underproducing or just being on the safe side to lessen inventories?
What say you fellow seibertronians? Care to share your expereinces where your pre-orders weren't served? And that YOU had to check with the retailer what happened to your order? Iirc, shajaki had that issue with an italian online shop......bad customer service support.
