---------------
NOTE: This thread was formerly called "It Is Him's House Cleaning Thread" or something like that, and was about me taking control of my collection and throwing out a ton of boxes and reorganizing stuff back in early 2008.
It's been an odd experience collecting toys this past year. I've collected comic books, video games, records... but until last May, never toys. It started innocently enough, and maybe it got out of hand (I can admit that). But I've had fun and that's all that counts. Right?
That said, I've been using my closet shelves to display my TFs. It was a terrible idea on so many levels. Plus, I kept ALL the boxes.
This past weekend came time to reclaim my closet.
How about a tour?
Boxed TFs I will probably never open in the left corner. Marvel Comics (I have all of them except #80, The Universe series and GI Joe crossover series). Valentines cards and opened cards in the Titanium box.
Some more boxes. I think I did a neat job of "Tetris"-ing them together.
Music Type C. Game A.
Come on, four lines...
Just give me a long one...
And Tetris! Woo!
Now it's time to throw them out. Here's my attack strategy - keep all the bios and instructions. That means carded figures, well, keep the cards... boxes, cut out the backs. Hold onto the more collectible boxes (Unicron, Best Buy Voyager Movie Megatron, etc.). Now get to work.
It may be hard to tell. But those boxes are taking up half of my couch!
And SUCCESS! The results were better than imagined. Initially I didn't plan on cutting up the Classics boxes, but when I saw the results from my Movie collection, I had to give Classics the same treatment. And the best part, I feel like I've accomplished something. Very satisfactory.
Special thanks goes out to my foot for making a cameo in this photo.
Now to take out the trash...
EPILOGUE - My collection
I'm waiting for some seeker parts from Transformersland.
I'm still very excited to have my Powermaster Prime Reissue.
Alternators
Classics + Movie line.
Thanks for looking!
All the best
