The thread where someone complained about the possibility of
Megatron being killed by Sam has got me thinking.
I'm tired of everybody complaining about the movie. Geewunners are making me more and more angry.
I did it back in the day myself, yes. I was gonna boycott it because Soundwave wasn't in it. But Frenzy as they have him is close enough. At this point it's just a name anyway, so I don't care.
That's what other people need to realize. Stop acting like it matters so much.
Sam killing Megatron is not a horrible travesty. It is, in fact, really cool because it connects the TF's to something less far-fetched after all the unbelievable Michael Bay mayhem: us. I'm sick of all the human hate-orade. If you think that audiences will buy TF's as we do, you're either in denial or incredibly naive.
Here's the problem: People are still married to the idea of a G1 movie because they need one. They're getting the book, and the comics, and the game, and the soundtrack, and the happy meals, because they are filling their lives with this movie because they need it.
I can't say "get a life" because you can't just press a button. What I can say is exapand the life you do have. The biggest reason I'm able to forget about a G1 movie is because I'm back at school, studying CG which has given me a huge appreciation for the new designs, rather than filling my face with G1 nostalgia, which would make me puzzled and upset by them.
People need to move away from the TF movie and look for a meaning in their lives that they can control. Creativity and making my own stuff that I do like is what works for me. When I was living at home at 26 and working at a lumber yard, I was more than ready to get pissed at the movie. Now I'm doing something with my life and I could care less. And I don't even have a girl.
Stop obsessing about the movie and do something more with your life than needing this movie.
If this movie sucks, it will be due to shaky cameras, cop-out or cliche writing, bad acting, CG that looks fake, and overall loud bullshit that is more annoying than exciting.
Will it have these things? It very well might. What it will have is a run of the mill alien invasion story featuring replicas of our TF's, and few homages to the original stories that brought them to life. Michael Bay didn't want to do a toy movie, and he didn't. Accept it and move on to your other hobbies.
That's my 100 cents on the ride it's been.

Nope. That doesn't matter. What matters is that they need to appeal to what the public will believe on screen. I'm glad he doesn't shrink. It's cool in the cartoon, but this is supposed to be a step up in realism, so he shouldn't shrink.
