My question is, whether the Bayverse movies were dubbed or subbed in Japan, were Optimus and Sentinel referred to as Prime or Convoy?

I'm pretty sure they were Primes. Since it was carried over from the US, and they have been using Prime since Animated came out, after the 2007 movie craze.

Convoy is only called Convoy in Takara made series, if I recall correctly.

"Convoy" was used in everything prior to 2007, regardless of the country of origin. Since 2007, TakaraTomy began to gradually shift to using the American names/terms in their versions of everything, with the original Japanese names/terms only lingering around in a select few things like Masterpiece and such.
