Japanese Transformer Series

Hey all,
Ive never seen many of the Japanese cartoons and want to start getting them but there are so many different versions as far as who released them and different fansubs and fandubs i'd like to hear what some of your opinions are regarding this before I get any of them.

BTW, I'm pretty sure that fansubs are subtitled and fandubs are voice overs if I'm mistakes could someone please correct me there.

You're correct on the subs/dubs. Metrodome has released all three series in one box, I own that set and it's as good as it gets. Do you live in the US? The Metrodome set is a UK release, I don't know about the availability in the US.

yes I live in the u.s. but im pretty sure i can get that set online somewhere. I'm aware of dvd regon issues but my player will play most types.
