Now, that's what I'm talking about. THIS is great looking and make senses for the character.

This is looking pretty great. Loving that jet mode. I don't even mind the chrome (although admittedly chrome is one of my toy fetishes)- it looks a bit nicer than just bare red plastic would.

Got to fiddling around with him. Hat's off to the designer/s whoever they are! :x

What an added scaling can do wonders. Already history but the previous Jet/Skyfire mold simply got hobbled by the Voyager scale.

Anyway back to the present. I was looking at how the designers flipped the design from the source "Valkyrie" mold.

Kawamori had the jet engines concentrated on the legs, the latest kind off used a flipped out Armoss Legios from Mospeada Genesis Climber design. The outer legs served as the housing while the arms served as the jet engines. but situated on the underbelly (Legios had the arms situated topside).

The almost seamless way the faux chest mounts on the "real" cockpit is just a stroke of genius!

It might be due to cost concerns, the "hollow" parts(fore arms, fist and thighs) could have easily been remedied, kind of distracting.

Again, resurrecting one design that the henkei version had an advantage is that its fist is a separate rotatable part. It would have been even more awesome if the fist could be collapsed in the arm (like the original Bandai Valkyrie).

And the connecting pegs on the cockpit, I'd wish it were made from a more durable material........(maybe die-cast?), it kind of a concern somewhere down the road.

Sorry about the ventilating (the positives btw far outstrips the negatives)

Now the positives............the jet mode is soooooooooooooooo AWESOME! Just needing the reprolable detail upgrades for all the white spaces. Cockpit for the pilots are also detailed (off course not to the level of the SOC Bandai or the Yamato/Arcadia Valkyrie) but it does the work). Overall, it again reminds me of the Armoss Legios merged with the F-14 Tomcat........same enjoyment but at a lesser price.

Surprising aspects:

For age 8 up right? The cockpit has a sharp pointy end. The G1 Seekers have rubberized tips. Were the first release any less sharper?

Spring mounted missile on his gun. It's good, just like the recent Roadbuster. I wonder what brought about this change in toy feature design?

Oh, that nosecone peeking between the legs is not the best look..

After HLJ lowered its price, I crunched the numbers and came to a conclusion that both versions (Hasbro v Takara) will cost me the same after shipping fees, possibly down to the dollar.

So I guess it's down to which version I like better, and how soon I want it (Sep v Dec)? Wish we had some non stock photos of the Takara version.

Transformers Generations Leader Class Jetfire - Promo Clip and Pre-Orders on Kmart.com

Another tip from Seibertron.com user Primeultimus, this time regarding the Generations Leader Jetfire toy - which is available for pre-order at Kmart.com for $44.99, and comes with a new promotional video! Check out the bio below, and head here for the listing and non-embeddable clip. And keep your eyes on this page, as we may have more Jetfire shaped news soon..

Jetfire is ancient and powerful, but he would prefer to stay hidden in the background rather than on the front lines. He is a peaceful robot at heart, preferring the stately, ordered excitement of science to the frenzy of battle. But the reckless ambition of the Decepticons, and the senseless violence of their war sickened him, so he left Cybertron to go into hiding. He slumbered in peace for years. Reawakened by the arrival of the war on Earth, he decided once again to enter the fight – this time on the side of the Autobots, and this time to end it for good, whatever the cost.

Convert, arm and attack with all the Transformers action you can handle! This Jetfire figure is a high-powered Autobot fighter whether he's in robot mode or supercharged jet mode. He'll be a match for any enemy in robot mode, and he’ll fire his arm-mount cannons at his Decepticon foes! When he converts to fast-flying mode, his turbo thrusters will make him too fast for any enemy to escape, and his photon missile launchers will pound them to scrap when he catches them! Keep converting him back and forth so he can handle whatever his foes dish out!

Transformers and all related characters are trademarks of Hasbro.

Order from K-Mart.com at your own risk. They are less than reliable sending you what you actually ordered. You may end up getting an AOE Leader Optimus or Grimlock instead.

3 years ago I had issues ordering stuff for in store pick up. In the last 3 years I have placed over a hundred orders with Kmart and had no issues.

They have been pretty spot on.

You can still preorder on Amazon and not have to worry about getting the wrong figure.

Jetfire will be easy to get from Kmart because he won't be part of the same case assortment as anyone else. The problem with Kmart is that with their ordering system, all Voyager class figures in a product line are the same toy. Their system doesn't differentiate between Voyager Class Optimus Prime and Voyager Class Grimlock. It does, however, differentiate between Voyager Class toys from different lines so Generations Voyagers like Springer, Soundwave, Blaster, Sandstorm, Rhinox, etc won't get mixed up with AOE Voyagers, but they will get mixed up with themselves.

Jetfire, has his own case assortment and will be the first figure in this assortment so he'll be a sure bet.

Attached is a picture of the case that Jetfire comes in.

You've been pretty lucky. A year and a half ago they sent me Prime Knockout when I'd ordered Prime Kup.

The "only figure in its own assortment" thing is the only making it "safe" to order via K-Mart.

You are safe since the box just contains one figure? Good then.

Meaning multiples of one figure? Then yes. Jetfire is shipped in a so-called "solid case", meaning no other figure is part of the same wave.

I was hoping for a few leader class Bumblebees in that case to spice things up. Like 3 to 1. :/
