No apologies needed, and thank you for the compliments. You know it's funny, you mentioned a watercolor look to my style, and for some reason I never noticed it till now, good eye. I'm still working on trying to get more artwork posted here, hopefully I can post something very soon.

Anyways, here's my latest. Actually this still is rather old, but again, computer issues I had back in 09 ha ha ha. These are pen sketches I did for a treatment of Unicron. I kept a sapien look only because it strikes me as more ominous, this giant human form walking towards your planet, like an ancient greek myth or something. I also kept some of Jetfires beard structure to form Unicrons, but made it more menacing like Saurons Helm in LOTR....luved that design.

And here is the sketch treatment I posted earlier here in this thread. The finished sketch treatment, now I am currently working on it in PS, which is coming out pretty interesting. I'll post it as soon as I'm finished.

Ah, my finished Unicron for all who are interest.

I did two versions, this is mostly a bust piece really, but one I kept the classic eye color, and the other I did more of a reddish color, surprisingly I prefer the classic better but I posted both to get your guys opinions. Also, if you look closely, you'll see a guest star in this piece of art as well ^_-

Anyways, I made this piece with Unicron kind of forming this environment around him, being he's so big he would have his own gravity per say, and therefore an atmosphere of lunar dust or meteor dust or whatever would enter his orbit. I also used actuall pictures of Nebulas and stars for most of the lighting effect, including the crab nebular I used for his chest.

Anyways I hope you guys like.

I might do another full body piece for Unicron, and perhaps a treatment for Grimlock. Time will tell.

Thanks again, hoefully you'll enjoy the colored PS versions I just posted.

Games, oh wow that was a while back when I was in college. Most of the time I worked on FPS, one in particular which has a robot theme. Soon after though I went on to film and design, I'll have to dig around to find something from way back then though. I'll let you know if I find anything.

So I got around to doing a treatment for Unicron's transformed self.
first off though, I realized the pics I have hosted are kind of small being you can't really see all the detail there is in each piece, so here is a close up of Unicron's Head:

UPDATE!

So, I took down alot of the other Unicron artwork because, well I really didn't like it. I mean it was neat, but wasn't doing it for me. thankfully I did newer artwork to replace it. So, to recap here's the older piece I had up before....

And here are the newer versions. I replace the BG, put alot more detail into the design, and toned down the saturation as well. and it just looks better too, this one I am happy with.

And finally I re-done space version of Unicron. Basically I retouched some of the lighting and blended the more detailed drawing into this piece, so so so much better.

Hey thanks Zenosaurus!!!! Sorry I haven't replied and posted more art, I've been drawing dinosaurs for a mag called Prehistoric Times. It's been fun, hopefully I'll be back to robots soon enough though and I'll have something more to post.

Yeah featuring him with Unicron seemed fun, like a easter egg ya kind of notice after you've taken a few glaces at it ha ha.

New project coming up which has me building me more giant robots. Right now I'm working on a mechanical to scale replica of a Sabertooth Fatalis for a science show pitch. I'll be loading images and work progression here for the duration of this project. Here's some concept art and pic of the work-in-progress skull (60% complete).

Mind you the teeth are placeholders, I need to find 1 ft blades to retro-fit onto the head so we can cundust alot of fun tests....for science ha ha ha.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. I really wanted to carry this mythological presence to Unicron, and I think giving him his own nebulous atmosphere (Due to his sheer size) really helps interpret this. I'm glad it carried out well. Thanks again for the feed back. Keep a look out being I'm building yet another giant robot. Ha ha ha

Alright, another update on what I'm now dubbing as Project "X". First some artwork and renderings on what I'm planning to do.

As you can see, unlike the pervious two robots which were used for props or were workig suits, this one for the most part will be functional. Meaning the claws and arms have to be functioning enough to take a swipe at something and hold, along with fold onto and transform out of the front of a working motorcycle for various test reasons. And the head, well the head has to do alot of gruesom stabbing. As for reasons why, I have them...reasons that is...but I'll disclose them when this project is close enough to finished.

Anyways I finally got the working blades for the front saber fangs as pictured here:

Which were then fitted into the mouth of this bot, code name "Fatalis", along with other functioning blades for the lower mandible as illustrated here:

The end result is a wicked mouth full of pain. As pictured here:

Anyways the skull is about 85% complete, I just need to set up the optical LED's which will make up Fatalis' eyes. Then it's on to constructing the arms and claws. Here are a few more pics of the head to enjoy, when the eyes are installed and the head painted I'll be sure to post more pics :grin:

More fun updates on Project X muahahaha!

First off, I've aquired a Bike which will serve as host to project: R4V4GE, also known as Fatalis. Here are some pics of the bike as well as the Fatalis skull so i get a feel of rough placement.

The owner of the bike is very excited to see what I build. Also here's a few pics of he LED eyes I've recently installed into the Fatalis skull, as well as the eye casings themselves which will go over the LED's.

And finally, here's how the Fatalis skull looks with it's newly installed eyes, I luv how this project is turning out so far!!! XD

New pics of Fatalis, as you can see I have the skeletal structure for the chest, neck, and arms all worked out and built as well as the neck fleshed out in terms of armor and mechanics. So far, it's turning out very very very well indeed.

Here's a closer look at the nech, the armor segments mimick the actual skeletal structure of Smilodon Fatalis, the animal this bot is being modeled after.

Next I'll move onward to the shoulder blades and chest..and so on and so forth, I plan to be done with construction by this week. Hopefully ha ha ha

Hey guys, so here the 2nd Viral vid i was talking about highlighting the motorcycle that will be used for this project and the stunt rider Steve.

Now, these vids aren't the same as the finished vid/trailer itself. But they're something fun to watch while things progress. Here though is a still shot from the actual trailer footage we shot today, which was our offical day of filming. Note one of my old creations makes a cameo in the back ground.

Fatalis is pretty much done, the arms and claw mechanics have been fabricated and sorted. I'll post more pics of those so you can see up close how deadly this thing is becoming. I'll also be posting more viral vids from the set, our prop room, more of my wacky staff and camera people, so be sure to check out the you tube channel here:

Hey thanks man, yeah the Voltron gig was fun, a bit rushed but fun. I had to pump out those designs pretty much over night, alot of it was for toy desings too so I had to figure out mechanics and how it would all stick, character turn arounds, role play items, lots of nonesense. It would be fun to work on the franchise again sometime in the future.
