Just joined the Noisemaze Production Type club!

Wow.

It's been a crazy morning.

A Noisemaze Production Type, MISB, showed up on eBay yesterday for $399, Buy It Now or Best Offer.

I knew it was a rare opportunity that may have been along time coming around again.

First, I had to convince my wife...:-)

I gave up buying vintage figures until BotCon. I had to promise to reduce the amount I was taking to BotCon by the final sale price. No Legos except store exclusives (another hobby of mine). I'm not allowed to complain about her $4 starbucks pumpkin lattes. All in all, not too bad in concessions.

I made a low initial offer, and we countered back and forth until we agreed on $325.00 + Free Shipping.

It's a little overwhelming, as this is far more expensive than anything I'd ever bought before.

I have a little sticker shock, too.

But I'm really satisfied that I found one for not an outrageous price.

I've now got all the Galaxy Force exclusives except for the Sonic Convoy giftset, Dark Nitro convoy, and Dark Fang Wolf (I have Gasket Police Type, Chromia Minerva Type, Soundblaster and Hell Buzzsaw, Shiny EZ Convoy that came with Megalo Convoy and now Noisemaze Production Type) that I care about getting (don't care about Excellion). I'm on the fence about the clear EZ Collection.

Once I get everything, I'll throw some pics up.

I'm debating that this may be my first AFA graded figure, too. Not sure.

You are aware of the fact that Counterpunch will hate you now? And that he will let you taste his wrath until you give it to him and pay him some money for taking it? :P

Awesome haul dude, awesome. It's a little weird that the army builder versions of that mold are so damn expensive.

Eh, he's got one already, so I should be safe ;-)

Yeah, definitely not army building with this guy.

If I'm reading you right and you paid $325 for a deluxe mold, I don't follow your logic lol. Congrats on your grail but good God we TF collectors are some crazy money bleeding bastards. I'm no exception this just sort of brings it all into focus.

$350 is a "good" price for NmPT these days. I expected to end up paying the original $399. $325 is a awesome, because it's like I got Henkei Strafe for free.

RC also got free shipping, which is another bonus to the good price on the figure. :)

Yeah, sometimes I think about the purchases I've made and they give me pause. On the other hand, I think it's more the fact that I'm laying down a significant amount of money on a single item. I also consider the way I can sometimes spend a fair bit of money on mundane things that are junky like fast food.

I look at the money people spend on things like cigarettes and alcohol. A smoker's cig cost can be pretty hefty over a period of time. A drinker can burn through a lot of cash in a single night out on the town.

My Transformers aren't consumables and they're pretty darn cool if I do say so myself.

That's how I justify the money I've spent as I cry myself to sleep.

QFT.

A friend and I went out to the bar last night, and he had four beers which cost $28 US. I had two, and it came to $9. Granted they were some really nice microbrews (viva Oktoberfest), but it was still pretty expensive. Our bill, with drinks and food, and the big tip he left the attractive waitress, totaled $72 US. And I had nothing to show for it this morning. My wife drinks $4 coffees and hot chocolates four or five days a week.

It's a sad fact, but the money's going to get spent somehow, I just rather spend it on something persistent. I don't drink regularly (maybe three days a month), I don't smoke, I don't do drugs, I don't drink crazy expensive coffees or any similar vice. *This hobby* is where I spend my money.

Sorry about the rant.

Aye, the taxes the local government imposes on cigarettes and alcohol makes them mad expensive.

It's a good thing my plastic habit is something that can stay with me rather than be enjoyed only briefly. :)

Nah, most of us here are in the same boat, I'd say.

I don't smoke or drink(I have a beer when I go out with my friends but only to make them feel better, they feel guilty if I don't drink with them for some reason). These days I don't buy too many comics or video games and so toy collecting takes up much of my budget for fun stuff.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not picking at you. I just call em like I see em lol. Trust me I have spent my own ridiculous money as well. Maybe not so much as that for one figure, still enough IMO. I'm certainly happy for you. As for me, I have my vices. I smoke (not indoors), drink socially, buy my comics every week and I collect multiple toylines simultaneously. So I certainly understand bleeding money myself.

It's the beauty of saved searches on eBay. I've got about 40 of them.

My saved eBay searches went down to nothing...for a while. Then it goes back up to the double digits despite not usually bidding on anything unless I can find something really cheap.

Very rare these days. They've mostly found their way into stable collections, at least for now.

man, who would've known those TFs that came packaged with special edition Galaxy Forces would be worth more than the DVDs itself after a few years.

So, I've never publicly bashed the USPS before because they are the only carrier to have never lost anything.

But...

I bought NmPT from a seller in California, who shipped it Priority, signature required and insured. I live in PA.

Somehow, it's in Honolulu at the sort facility, for the last three days.

I'm sweating bullets over this.

How do you go from LA to NEPA by way of Hawaii?
