I really cant take much for the phantoms. All the meds they have for it on the market work trew the kidneys...............and mine have already failed.

What about post op whilst you were still in hospital?

Phantom pain is a bastard, a BASTARD to treat once you have it. To stop it developing in the first place you have to have the hard core **** thrown at you immediately post op, and if the anthiestist is worth their salt, pre-op.

There are some good "non-drug" therapies I've heard. Like hippy remedies.

It does look like it would help..........unfortunately it seems the product isint being offered to the public yet.
They seem to be only offering trew Vet hospital.

America has better products, better than what we have here - and what we have here changes people's lives!

Granted, its a heck of a lot easier to manage with one leg than it is to loose an arm. But be in for multiple fittings and multiple products until you find the one that works for you. Especially as the stump shrinks and the tissues heal.

they had me on some heavy stuff the first few days after the "cut", but after a few days I developed some weird side effects..........very pain full full body tremors, memory laps, poor breathing............it go so bad I asked them to stop the pain meds.

Wow...I work with a guy that only has one leg. He wears a prosthetic that he seems to do rather well with. I think that once you get used to it, it won't hurt as much.

I read awhile back about some affliction where people feel one of their limbs looks odd and decide to remove it themselves. I always thought that was ridiculous.

Then you meet someone that has to have it done or has had it done for medical reasons. Just makes you wonder why the heck anyone would do that on purpose?

I hope the adjustment is not that rough on you. It's good your back, I enjoy reading your posts.
