Looks a little better than I originally thought. (except for the fugly tail) I might pick him up at TRU but I dont think he is worth the added shipping to buy online.

I can wait. Years of delayed Australian releases have trained me for this moment.
And if I don't ever see it on shelves, gives me a chance to see if Takara does a better paint job.

Wonder why BBTS and TFsource still don't have pre-orders for this guy and Blaster?

Very nice, buying it on site. Second best Grimlock figure ever. Slightly disappointed that there doesn't seem to be any waist swivel, but it's not horrible.

Looking at his chest in bot mode reminds me of the Binaltech figure.

Well, that answers my "Can he stand decently without the use of heels?" question.

Yeah, I'm totally down with getting him, but I personally think that they should introduce the Leader class into Generations and upsize Grimlock to be properly scaled with other figures.

I completely agree , leader class should def be reintroduced , only downside being the increase in price

Looks pretty amazing. The transformation is surprisingly simplistic but effective. The dino mode isn't perfect but most people will be displaying him in bot mode anyway. I guess it makes sense that he is 3 to a case now, I just hope I can still find Blaster. Hasbro picked a great shade of dark silver plastic for him this time around, and the amount of paint detail is good for once. Definitely looks like the best figure in the line.

Are there any comparisons with FoC Bruticus?
That would be nice to see.

I do like how he goes from mid-size in dino mode to BIG in robot mode.

I concur. Comparison of the two would be very nice.

I do like how he goes from mid-size in dino mode to BIG in robot mode.

Sadly, he appears to be a hair shorter than Soundwave/Soundblaster/Blaster.

its amazing how dinobots come along way to be better over time from his g1 verison smaller compared to ultramagnus in bot mode in series there both smae size.

if hasbro/takara wont make more dinobots, insecticons heres hoping 3rd party company will

Yes, but my logic is that those characters are supposed to be Deluxe sized anyway (and Soundwave was, to fit with Megatron and Optimus). Therefore, Grimlock will tower over them all on my shelf!

(I'm not dimissing the cassette/disk holders, just saying that they don't have a place in my collection. Even though they do look pretty.)

It ought to be the other way around. in the game, his dino mode was HUUUUGE compared to his robot mode. ;)

Hey, I'm the one wrote that long rant speaking against all the complaints. I love this figure, but I admit it's far from perfect.

I preordered mine from BBTS last night. I can't wait to get it. I figure it should be sometime in February since the page said 1st quarter 2013. Does anyone actually know the release date on this?
