I dunno. It's pretty dumb. Also, considering what a dire state the official releases are in from mold overuse I dread to think what the KO is like.

Given what happened to the iGear seekers, which weren't even straight KOs, I don't understand why someone would attempt this.

Didn't they sell like hotcakes for a while before iGear just stopped producing them?

KO them in cartoon accurate rainmaker colors and sunstorm decos and im in. Im totally down for this mold to be KOed in quality form at KO prices for us seeker fans out there. Hastak has held this mold hostage long enough releasing it in all the wrong decos. And the non-availability of the latest starscream version in TRU retail really pissed me off. KO the crap outta this mold, you got my approval. ;)^

Yes, but the reason of why they stopped producing them was a legal one. I do not know the specifics of it. Suffice it to say that retailers were no longer willing to risk stocking the product.

Also, I find it amusing that you're begging for a KO version of this mold and complaining about its non-availability at American retail when A: you repeatedly complain about how much MP scale sucks, and B: You're always saying how people shouldn't bother buying things at retail and should only buy things online (which in the case of MP Starscream I'm inclined to agree, as the Takara version is blatantly superior).

And "HasTak is holding the mold hostage"? Excuse me? They created it. It's their mold. It's not in the public domain. It's not like some ancient painting that a company bought the rights to and are refusing to allow reproductions of despite the original creator having died hundreds of years ago.

If you want an MP Starscream then buy the official product or that MP scale Starscream Maketoys is making. Don't be such an entitled prick. Your begging for top-quality products without having to pay full price is like benefit scabs who want money without having to work for it. And like said benefit scabs, you're making honest, hard working people suffer (in this case by paying thieves instead of the people who actually made the toy).

Bitstream would be nice so would some of the CHMS colours.

I really liked igear's Forest green Seeker - I came with in a breath of buying one I like that colour so much.

Speaking of CHMS their Take on the Rainmakers is to me at least the "Canon" version - or to put it another way what they should look like if they were toys for real - I suspect Funpub altered their *sort of version* of them so they didn't look like the CHMS ones as much. but the CHMS ones are by far the coolest colour scheme to me...

But again iGear did some good stuff too. the only probably with the iGear ones was the price at the time seemed high - but compared to later Takara ones they are not to bad really.

I'm not in a huge hurry to buy any MP jets really - but if they do start mass producing them at an afforadable price then most of my issues of them would go away - they were never something I liked enough to want to collect - I've even walked away from Acid Storm and Sunstorm when they were dirt cheap - simply as I really don't like the mould much - if the KO's address some of the issues I have with the moulds then - just maybe I may grow more positive towards them - they are for sure something that gains merit when collected in sets - on their own they are not so great a toy - as I would usually say the Seeker MP mould is something you stick in a Detolf not something you play with.

Nah, I love me some whacky 90s/G2 colours. My problem with the Rainmakers (as they appeared in the cartoon) is that they were literally just one colour. No markings, no definition, no nothing. Visual interest, people- it matters!

While I’m not a fan of MP scale, I am a huge seeker fan. And what better use for oversized realistic F-15 fighters than my coffee tables? I dig having a squadron of the original 3 seekers in a blue angels style formation. It’s a shame that getting all 3 Hasbro versions in one mold is such a pain. I passed on the online sale for about 50 bucks thinking it would hit retail in time for Christmas like every other TRU MP. Boy was I wrong. A little research turned up that the figure was “cancelled” before shipments ever made it to Miami. Store records show the closest they ever made it to me in retail was Orlando. I refuse to pay scalper scum $140 for a figure that the picked up for $70 bucks. I detest scalpers who nickel and dime profit by selling retail figures to people who live in BFE. They need to get off their lazy ass and get a real job.
As far as my comment about HasTak holding the mold hostage, I say use it or lose it. If they don’t want to give fans the decos they really want, then by all means let somebody else take care of it for them. That’s how CHMS made such a killing on classics seekers. Acid Storm in digital camo? Hell no. Sunstorm with poop brown accents? No thank you Hasbro. I want the real deal in those cartoon colors you hate so much. Guess what? I LOVE THOSE COLORS !!!
So me wanting cartoon accurate seekers instead of the garbage decos Hasbro offers makes me an “entitled prick”???
The designers of the MP Starscream mold got their money a long time ago. The mold exists and has been used many times. KOing it isn’t hurting anyone but the rich corporate morons in Hasbro headquarters that make stupid decisions on paint decos. People get all dramatic over KO’s and I don’t get it. I’m sure every one of them has eaten a bowl of corn flakes that wasn’t made by Kellogs or bought a car part from Auto Zone that was half the dealer’s price. Then they come on here and try to be a champion for corporate rights. It’s not even funny, it’s sad.

OK, so this is all reasonable, but wait, what's this...
It’s a shame that getting all 3 Hasbro versions in one mold is such a pain.

Why on Earth would you want the patently inferior Hasbro versions? Just buy the Takara versions online.

I passed on the online sale for about 50 bucks thinking it would hit retail in time for Christmas like every other TRU MP. Boy was I wrong. A little research turned up that the figure was “cancelled” before shipments ever made it to Miami.

Well it's your own fault for missing out on it when you had the chance. Consider yourself lucky you even get MPs at brick and mortar retail in your area.

Store records show the closest they ever made it to me in retail was Orlando. I refuse to pay scalper scum $140 for a figure that the picked up for $70 bucks.

Boo f*cking hoo. I have to pay double that if I want an MP seeker because I don't live in the US or Japan. Stop whining.

I detest scalpers who nickel and dime profit by selling retail figures to people who live in BFE. They need to get off their lazy ass and get a real job.

What, like stealing other people's products and selling them as their own? >:oP

As far as my comment about HasTak holding the mold hostage, I say use it or lose it. If they don’t want to give fans the decos they really want, then by all means let somebody else take care of it for them.

No, the fans will just have to say "well tough sh*t, we didn't get the colours we wanted". You aren't entitled by birthright to get an MP seeker coloured like a one-off generic from 30 seconds of a horrendously animated merchanidse-driven cartoon.

Well there is no accounting for taste I suppose. ;)

But seriously. If you honestly think "solid green with no detail whatsoever except the canopy and head" is a colourscheme worthy of immortalization in plastic you need your head checked.

So me wanting cartoon accurate seekers instead of the garbage decos Hasbro offers makes me an “entitled prick”???

If it means you're willing to support filthy KO makers, yes.

The designers of the MP Starscream mold got their money a long time ago. The mold exists and has been used many times. KOing it isn’t hurting anyone but the rich corporate morons in Hasbro headquarters that make stupid decisions on paint decos.

What, you mean the people that gave you the figure in the first place? The people that without, MP-11 wouldn't even exist anyway?

People get all dramatic over KO’s and I don’t get it. I’m sure every one of them has eaten a bowl of corn flakes that wasn’t made by Kellogs or bought a car part from Auto Zone that was half the dealer’s price.

Then they deserve what was coming to them when their cereal tastes awful or their car falls apart. Being cheap is a truly detestable quality.

Then they come on here and try to be a champion for corporate rights. It’s not even funny, it’s sad.

DM, DM, DM….

Were just gonna have to agree to disagree. As far as why not Takara for MP seekers? Because my money is better invested in classics scale figures. MP scale is just a coffee table novelty for me and not worthy of Takara prices. I have at least 5 TRU’s in driving distance. Ive seen every TRU MP issue in piles to a point where Starscream was expected. Starscream being cancelled isn’t on me and isn’t on TRU. That’s all on Hasbro corporate for being a bunch of morons. Don’t blame me for certain figures not being available in your area. If collecting is that big a deal to you, maybe you should try networking. If you made friends on this site instead of “bringing the pain” like a bad case of hemorrhoids, Im sure plenty of people here would be happy to pick up stuff for you if you send them the cash and shipping via paypal. On scalpers, what can I say other than I think they are the scum of the earth? It takes a special kind of person to wanna drive around town, and haul stuff to the post office to make $10-30 profit. These are the people who are too lazy to seek advancement in their careers or even have a career at all. I wouldn’t even waste my time trying to make chump change in such a desperate fashion. I dont know what kind of fair weather fans your talking about when you say “well tough sh*t, we didn't get the colors we wanted". The fans I know demand the real deal and not some half ass deco created to justify Takara’s continued existence rather than one universal paint scheme worldwide. The molds are located in China dude, not Japan. Cheap labor is exploited for pennies and the only people youre concerned about getting ripped off is the corporate scum that own the rights to the mold. So please flush all that ethical dribble, because its all smoke and mirrors. And you talk about the creators of these figures like if they have a job with HasTak for life. Remember our good friends at Play With this Too? Hasbro basically chewed them all up and spit out the bones. I guarantee no designer is receiving royalties for the molds they design. They get paid a salary. That’s it dude. KO sales don’t hurt them personally. They just hurt Hasbro’s ability to keep milking and milking the same cow over and over again. Heaven forbid Hasbro is forced to get a new cow, lol. And lets face it, sometimes one lump of plastic is no better than the other lump of plastic. If you go to a car dealership and spend top dollar on a pair of wipers or an air filter, youre paying twice the price for a name printed on your lump of plastic. Don’t be fooled into thinking the identical lump of plastic made in China for half price is inferior. Hell, even i-Phones get KOed and people cant tell the difference. Don’t let ethics rip your brain apart dude. At the end of the day its all about who’s pocket do you want the extra money in ? Yours or theirs? You think Hasbro gives a crap about you, me or anyone on this website? Get real. With KO’s I have gotten to have my cake and eat it too on many occasions.

Looks like there must be enough of us "entitled pricks" to justify a full run of seekers CHMS style. HasTak take notice. If you wont give us the decos we ask for somebody else will. It’s the simple law of supply and demand. Use it or lose it. My coffee table yearns for these guys. Seeker Mania !!!

Are you a trained "sniper' or what? ;)^

Nah, I just have standards and refuse to buy bootlegged goods. There's only 2 reasons I'd ever buy a KO:

1: For use as fodder for customs (I am tempted to buy some of the KO cassettes to disassemble and repaint into custom minions- Rumble/Frenzy into Flip Sides for example- but I would never actually buy them in place of the "real deal" and when I start a proper MP collection I'll be tracking down authentic cassettes).

2: To scalp (except instead of selling them on I'd either use them as custom fodder, keep them locked in a box or destroy them Thew style) to take them out of the market so that X and co can't get hold of them, because I am one spiteful sunnuvabeotch.

Seriously though, X, I don't think you quite understand how the production of these things works. HasTak don't just "own the rights" to the mold. They MADE the mold. It's their creation. They designed it from the ground up- a LOT of work goes into designing those things. Do you think toy designs just fall out of the sky like manna from heaven? And that's not even touching on the cost of engineering the molds and keeping them in good condition.

It's not like, say, the Macross situation with Harmony Gold where an American licensee refuses to allow the release of various Macross series unedited because MUH ROBOTECH, to the point where the original creators have actually come out and encouraged people to pirate the series. It's quite easy to legally buy the official product. Sure it might be expensive, but that's life I'm afraid. If you want a good quality product you have to pay for it.

For all your talk of "corporate scum" you don't seem to have a problem with supporting actual scum who steal the product of other people's hard work and pass it off as their own. Those "corporate scum" aren't some kind of evil inhuman overmind that exists solely to deny you the perfect monochromatic seeker. They're people trying to make a profit so they can feed their families. They didn't make MP Acid Storm in non-cartoon-accurate colours just to piss you off. They did it because the cartoon colours look like absolute sh!t and they most likely wouldn't sell. Believe it or not, trying to make money isn't evil, unless you're a communist.

F*ck me, I honestly don't know why I bother arguing with you. You're either a troll or so f*cking stupid/delusional that you can't comprehend basic logic. So let me try and put this in a way you might understand.

You X make toy. You X put lots of work and money and effort into toy. You sell toy for money so you X can make profit off toy so making toy was worth it. But bootlegger get hold of toy (probably by stealing it) and copy it and sell it for less, so you X don't make money off of toy. Bootlegger makes lots of money off of toy despite fact he didn't put any work into toy. Naturally, you X angry and try and stop bootlegger. But then dumb troll on internet say that because bootlegger sell toy for less you deserved to have toy stolen! You X no can afford to make toy anymore and go bankrupt. Bootlegger has no toys to steal so he go bankrupt too. Then nobody can get toy because nobody is making toy.

Does that make sense to you now?

Also, I hate to break it to you, but that KO Acid Storm...isn't G1 accurate. He never had the grey on the chest or pelvis, his canopy is the wrong colour and his forearms shouldn't be black- he was just green all over. So even the bootleggers realize how poopy Acid Storm's cartoon deco was. Furthermore, Acid Storm never turned into an F-15- he only ever appeared as a tetra-jet! ;)

I think youre the one thats delusional if you think the KO machine is a small institution that caters to the minorities. The truth is YOU are the minority. I would like to inspect under the hood of your car (if you even own one) to ensure every single plastic part comes directly from the factory. Every gasket, every spark plug, every fan belt and battery cable. Would you put a wager on it? Probably not.

You say the "corporate scum" Im referring to is filthy rich. With the money they make they can feed the families of everybody on this website and tfw2005. Dont fool yourself. They pimp the designers and milk the crap outta the molds they own the rights to long after they kicked the designer to the curb. (Like they did to Rick Alvarez and all his PWTT buddies) You dont give a crap about the poor factory workers who get paid pennies to assemble our beloved toys, do you? Those are the people I care about. Ever wonder why so many pre production botcon samples make it to taobao and chimungmung months before botcon? Its because those poor exploited factory workers cant feed their family on the pennies hasbro pays them. Thats real ! Thats what I respect. i could care less about the corporate scum and their profits. If hasbro wants to be condidered ethical, they should bring their factory to America and support jobs in this country instead of exploiting the poor helpless Chinese that live in poverty.

And your OPINION on tge cartoon accurate Acid Storm will remain nothing more than your OPINION. And my OPINION is the original cartoon accurate deco (and the KO company improvements on the deco) are freaking cool. You wouldnt know what "cool" was even if it walked up to you and slapped you in the face.

And no I don't have a car- but if I were to get a car the ONLY replacement parts I'd use would be either A: official parts, or B: parts that were actually significantly different from the official ones. I certainly wouldn't stoop to using cheap imitations in my car and risk damage to it.

Last time I checked, PWTT's downfall had absolutely nothing to do with Hasbro. It had to do with people not wanting their product.

You dont give a crap about the poor factory workers who get paid pennies to assemble our beloved toys, do you? Those are the people I care about.

No you don't. Don't try and big yourself up as some kind of bastion of morality. And for the record, those profits you'd like to see denied from HasTak? Those profits are what keeps those workers paid.

Ever wonder why so many pre production botcon samples make it to taobao and chimungmung months before botcon? Yeah, and then Hasbro AND Takara would go bankrupt because of the higher cost of American labour, and then everyone would lose their jobs. Oh, and for the record? In the small period of time before HasTak went bankrupt, the prices would go up even higher. You don't seem to have the slightest idea of how economics work. I mean, I'm no economist but even I'm not that stupid.

By having their factories in China (or Vietnam now that China has become too expensive, in part due to falling profits due to the shrinking toy market) HasTak are providing jobs to people that probably wouldn't otherwise even have jobs. Pennies a day is still better than nothing. Could it be better? Probably. But is it better than the alternative? Definitely.

And let's be real. You don't give a flying fart about "those poor helpless Chinese". You just want to get toys for cheap, you selfish arse.

Wow great argument f@gtron you sure convinced me with those hot OPINIONS.

Also, great job on completely and utterly failing to address my argument. Imbecile.

Because the official ones are too crazy expensive. I have been looking for a while now, and simply can not find one that hasn't been scalped to high heaven.

My shelf needs a decent looking Starscream. Official... KO... I don't care. As long as it fit in my budget and looks cool.

I had high hopes for the TRU one and searched all over...but it never even came to my store...

I've seen where this is going to end DM. Just post this x infinity !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!at least its a response.

Anyway, you'd make the literal "sniper" proud when you called out a little detail.....................that a certain someone won't ever touch an MP release with a 10 foot pole and keeps on reiterating it in the MP threads yet wouldn't blink an eye to get a K.O. of an MP. There's a certain term you call it which starts with the 20th letter of the alphabet and ends with the 12th. I don't have enough posting powers to say it straight but you is hitting a bullesye amigo!By that action you already won the argument.
