I'm probably one of the only 3rd party collectors that doesn't regret passing up Shadow Scyther. I don't actually want the KO of it either. More for somebody else, I guess.

I want one but only so I mod it and put it on a crystal red Hot Rod to use it was the Fallen.

I was going to paint one of the Protector sets pearly white and gold to use with the crystal blue Hot Rod as either Prima the Lightbearer or the avatar of Primus from the Marvel comics.

But I wonder if they would make a RTS Rodimus bright red color version of this since it hasn't been made yet?

I know it is the least desirable mold of Rodimus, but it is the only one I own....

I wouldn't mind if they color matched all the different Rodimi that have been produced.

You could play mix-n-match with different Roddies & armors.

It would be like super expensive power core combiners.

Plus the one with Ko Wildrider is down to $85 too!!

I think I'll wait til people get these in hand and post reviews of the quality before I pull the trigger. $100 is a bit much for me to spend on a KO with out knowing if it's a quality KO...

If this is from the same guys who KOed City Commander, we should see a crystal blue version or a dark blue Sideburn version as well. They did Shattered Glass and crystal DIA versions of city commander that are awesome for those who didnt know. I also imagine they did the KO Battle Tanker and might eventually do a Scourge repaint if TFCC ever does keep their 6 figure promise.

I hope this thing is KOed into the ground.

Try iOffer.com for crystal versions of Rodimus and Wild Rider if thats what your after?
You could then make yourself a "Fallen" as mentioned in an earlier post!

This was a retailer exclusive to TFSource and Robotkingdom, each of whom got like 250 units.

TFSource went live with their pre-orders at like, 1 in the morning. I don't know about Robotkingdom.

It sold out almost immediately, might have lasted until morning. Dunno.

I don't normally complain about scalpers but there were no purchase limits.

Perhaps a month after it was released, they came back on TFSource for 2-3 times their original price.

No one knows if it was reserve stock or the pieces meant to be replacements for broken figures etc. People were SUPER pissed.

I'm not passing judgement on TFSource on this. I don't know what was going on behind the scenes. I think they later dropped the price back down to original retail.

Point is, Fansproject should have known better than to do something like this in limited quantities at the height of their popularity and there were retail...inconsistencies going down.

Yea, I recall this fiasco now.
I was pissed because I missed it by a few hours.

Quite frankly I'm about done with limited number exclusives just in general, especially this week.

In a world in which ebay exists, all it does is promote inflated secondary market prices.

(That said, if anyone wants to sell me an SDCC Shockwave HISS tank, there's a Benjamin in it for you)

Although I gotta say ... I kinda want a Rodimus colored scythe. Doesn't really suit him, but it'd make the set more complete in my book.

Agreed. And like Counterpunch, I got lucky and got one. The real problem is now I can't find a decently priced 2nd SG Rodimus to wear it. And before someone suggests trying the CHMS one, I tried - I couldn't get any of the pieces to fit it well, so I ended up tossing the CHMS one in the garbage like the POS it was.

Part of me is thinking that these retail oddities is what prompted FP to create their own store, or at least have a dedicated group sell its products.
