I have to admit I've had my eye on these for quite some time. A few weeks ago I noticed a lot less of the blue guy around and one guy on ebay's trying to offload his for over $100. So I figured the time was right for me to get it. Chimungmung had 'em for a halfway decent price, so I figured I'd get 'em.

The traielr was more of an afterthought. I knew it's be shitty, but I gotta admit ... pictures and stories don't really do it justice. The words "display piece" have never been truer than with this guy. They should name the completed form "Shitty Kommander"! While FP's armor fits tightly and looks amazing, this looks amazing and falls totally to pieces. Not even the shoulder launchers actually fit securely! It's actually pretty pathetic.

blue Konvoy is a floppy POS, but a shiny, kinda sharp floppy POS. Of course the hands were swapped and an arm was backwards ... these are made by the same guys who made those shitty KO Seekers! This thing does not really hold together in vehicle mode at itt, it wants to fall apart in my hands. I'm going to have to do the glue trick to make things batter. I'm also using Classics Prime's guns / smokestacks for the back, the ones it came with just don't stay on.

These also pretty sloppy paint apps for what was KOToy's "exclucive" lineup. silver paint where silver paint ought not to be!

But it does LOOK sharp. Not really combined (I'll have to tape some cardboard to some of the armor bits to even get it halfway useable), but Prime alone looks nice. I gotta admit, I do like how the blue version looks.

Even with the combined rate all together I think I paid too much. They may get lower eventually as they go on even further clearance. There can't still be too many of these guys in stock everywhere. There just can't. And if there are then I paid way too much.

If you don't mind shitty KO quality then Kold blue Konvoy is for you. Can't recommend getting the KO traielr with it. I mean if you're OCD like me, I suppose you'd want it. If I buy a POS KO I'd want it to be a COMPLETE POS KO. But sane people would be best advised to just put their money into a batter toy.

You must have gotten a bad one, as while loose, they are not horribly so in my experience. Sadly the QC on KOLD toys isn't great. You gamble with quality with each purchase.

Maybe other people's definition of horribly floppy is different than mine.

The article saying he looks nice with the DIA KO is funny. It just barely holds together.

It's odd, my blue Konvy came with a totally different box than the one pictured, showcasing a few of the convoys in the Kold lineup (done int he familiar convoy kold art style). Of course I went in with my eyes wide open, I didn't actually expect good quality here.

Well, I will say this about the KO armor: the trailer mode fits together perfectly!

I have the FP City Commander armor and don't really care for it. sort of hinders articulation. The Blue armor does look nice though, maybe as a display piece.

Also, i didn't know we were allowed to use the word "shitty" in the forums. Can we drop F bombs?

I think you got a dud my friend. My Blue convoy looks perfect with great paint apps and nice tight joints. Same thing for My KO SG Prime. I did have cracked plastic on the Black Convoy (Winterfest KO) But it was a dud most likely too. You are right about the smokestacks being extremely loose in truck mode, but my parts box doesn’t seem to mind their company. I also got the KO DIA, Shadow, and SG Purple trailers. But since my regular City Commander is not a KO, I can judge the quality differences between the two fairly. The Shoulder and Arm armor are loose. But the key is to use foam adhesive stickers on the inside of the parts to provide that extra thickness. It stays hidden and keeps em tight, problem solved. If the missile launchers are a little loose, roll a small piece of black electric tape around the peg a couple times. Easy fix.



Besides the minor issues I described, all 3 KO Trailers were top notch in my opinion.





Sorry to hear you got bad CHMS seekers. Must have been more duds. Only problems I had, was with the yellow version of Sunstorm. It suffers from the “gold plastic syndrome”. I wouldn’t advise bending the elbows on that particular version. The joint will crack. Also the ghost Starscreams are prone to cracking at the elbow because of weak clear plastic. But only the starscreams. I Had no problems with the ghost Skywarp, ghost Thundercracker, or ghost Coneheads. I guess only the clear white plastic mix was weak. I’ve had pretty good luck with CHMS and KOLD considering, the amount of figures I have purchased from them through KO Toys in the past. (around 50) Mike from KO Toys always used send me replacement parts and figures whenever I had an issue. He knew that I was a serious customer and valued my business. I can only speak for my own experiences with KO Toys.

Yeah, I never seem to get these "perfect" KOs that people keep talking about. They all just have one problem after another.

I may see if I can't get that foam, though.

Although, along with Shitty Kommander, I got CHMS Punch/Counterpunch. And he's actually pretty good. I was going to make a seperate topic on that one later, after I examine him a bit more.

However, I felt the crapitude that is the blue Kold Convoy and the KO City Commander set he came with together was so spectacularily bad that I felt it deserved it's own recognition. Especially since the Kold line was supposed to be high priced exclucives. I read the reviews, so I wasn't surprised, but it's still pretty sad.
