Korean Big Convoy

I just found a Korean version of Takara's "Big Convoy." It claims that it is made by Takara, and is imported to Korea. Does anyone know about this figure? Is it actually the same as this?

This is from sonokong (korea).... Takara gives them right for production.
I have this toy from sonokong, the toy quality is alright....
But i dont know why, those boxes are damage and old. So if you are crazy about condition about the box, beware!

If just for budget and the toy, it is a good choice.

I've been wanting a Big Convoy for quite a long time, so the price is an eye catcher. I'm not very concerned with the box for this one. I just think he looks amazing.

From what I've read online the quality on those is the same as the Takara so go for it. I got the black Nemises version of that mold and it is a really fun toy.

If I'm planning on opening it, I try very hard to get a Sonkong version instead of Takara. It's the identical figure, just in a less attractive (and often damaged?) box, for usually half the price.

Korean Big Convoy is the same quality as the Takara version. He's still one of my favorites. You guys having damaged Sonokong boxes, maybe it's because they're old stock or something. Mine have all been fairly mint.

I have that same Big Convoy, from the same seller it seems. Go for it, I was not disappointed.

I've had mine for a few years, if I recall (because I haven't had him out for a while) one of the arms tends to pop off a bit but it's not a major issue. But quality wise? Yeah, top notch, you can't go wrong with it!

I have the Takara version and handled the Sonokong version. The difference? Well maybe the hue of the blue part of Convoy's helmet. As for wanting a mint box version(Sonokong that is) well pm me and I'll give you guys the online source(I have a source that never fails)

I got him in the mail today. He's pretty hard to get back into Beast mode.

Yeah, the Big Convoy mode is notoriously finicky.

His parts are always coming off when I try to transform him. I gave up last night after I got him into Beast Mode (with his arms off on the table). Uggghh. He's awesome on my display shelf, however.

You can always make a new thread, no need to necro three year old threads. ;)

Typically, yes, he'd come with a Matrix in his chest. I don't know about knockoff versions though. I'd expect it probably does.

If you buy one, lemme know how the quality is, I'd love to pick up a Big Convoy for myself at some point.

excellent, of course, I'll let you know about the quality of the picture, I did not think it was a fake, I doubt it, for the pictures are exactly the same, the seller confirmed me with this photo that contains the matrix inside the chest,

for some reason these figures are selling as bulk products, this seller shows, if you look says it has sold 218 figures, for some reason he sells without box. I will bring you news on the figure, I already paid for it, thanks.

Most likely because they're Korean Knockoffs. There was a company (whose name I can't recall) which was making very good knockoffs of BW/BWII/BWNeo molds in Korea during and shortly after they were coming out.

It's already all been written on the previous page of this necro'd thread, but just in case you are thinking of the Korean company Sonokong... Then you'd be dead wrong about their products being KO's. Sonokong had a very legal license from Takara to produce BW / BWII / BWNeo and Car Robots (RiD) products, and their products are practically as good as Takara products. Haters like to say that Sonokong products are in some way of lesser quality, but they really are not: they are equal to Takara products, but much cheaper. Packaging is a bit flimsier, though, and Sonokong products usually come in blind boxes (no windows). I have several of their BWNeo molds, and they are of excellent quality.
I'm not aware of any BWNeo knock offs of Big Convoy, BTW. And this seller also is selling a lot of boxed Sonokong products.

Well then I fully admit my mistake, thanks for reminding me. :) Also yeah, I feel kinda dumb for not simply looking a page back.

As I promised, here is the link to my Flickr account with photos of my excellent figure of korean BIG CONVOY,

http://www.flickr.com/photos/carwonka/8 ... 2905843148

believe me, the figure is so worth it, this has a lot of details that have very few figures, gold chrome in his eyes, in the chest and in the matrix is excellent, the finish in his pearly white area, seriously, you will love this figure by wherever you look, the only thing is to change your complicated alternate mode takes a long time, .... $ 33 for an excellent figure, the seller's shipping without box, but the figure was sealed with plastic wrap from factory (beast mode) obviously was a new figure, included the 4 missiles in the original packaging, I hope they are useful my photos, thanks!

Super cool pictures: and yeah, a superb toy like that for just $33 is an absolute bargain. :APPLAUSE:
Makes me want to get my own Sonokong Big Convoy out of storage.

One of my favorite TF figures of all time. A total brick in alt mode, but he looks great and the bot mode is solid, has excellent articulation and has a very cool combination of Beast Wars combined with G1 looks.

Hi guys, I ordered mine from south korea a few days ago, waiting for it to arrive (30$), hope they packaged it well. Is there a difference between this one and the 2004 nemesis prime version, paint and price aside?

Yep Awesome Figure!! I brought this for $33 bucks two years ago probably from the same ebay seller. Good to know it's still around at such an awesome price.
