Kreon Micro-Changers In-package pics plus how to identify blind packaged Kreons

The all-new-just-announced Kreon Micro-Changers which Hasbro unveiled last week at SDCC, have already begun showing up at a couple of comic book stores. Thanks to Fishformers for figuring out how to match the stamped numbers on the packaging of this blind packaged toys to the product numbers of the toys themselves.

With a case in hand, Seibertron.com can confirm that the numbers do indeed match up for all 6 figures which we provided proof with via the pictures below.

Crankstart - A1010 (214510)
Galvatron - A1008 (214518)
Scorponok - A1011 (214511)
Spinister - A1007 (214517)
Sunstorm - A1009 (214519)
Waspinator - A1012 (214512)

Happy hunting!

The instructions also show how to convert the Kreon Micro-Changer from robot to alternate modes. The figures do not transform. Instead, you will need to "rebuild" the figure much like you do with the larger Kre-O Transformers sets.

Is there a reasonable spread across the case or does it appear completely random?

It's great that they can be ID for those looking not to splash out on a box/multiple packs. But like Lego they will be alerted, and come up with another coding/hidden bumps. Stuff like this should be kept like a dirty secret (people know about it but do not say it out aloud). That's if buyers do wish to be able to ID them easily.

"Product Does Not Convert"

....yes it does. That's the whole point of these Kreons... Traditional conversion? No. Conversion, period? Yes.

Urgh...

Anyone have any good ideas on where to start looking for these little guys? I really would like to get all of them!

An all Decepticon first wave? That's pretty hardcore Hasbro.

"Product does not convert"

"Product disassembles and reassembles in a different form instead of converting" is a bit too long?

Some of them might be identifiable by feeling the pieces inside. For example, Sunstorm's wings would be easy to feel through the package.

I don't think Hasbro really cares if people can ID them. The IDs on their other franchises blind bags have been deciphered ages ago, and yet they haven't changed them. Kids won't know the codes, and collectors will probably buy multiple anyway, so they aren't really loosing out by us knowing the codes.

For its size I was hopping for perfect transformation. There's also some parts swapping it seems.

Pft. Who needs codes when you have fingers?
Just feel the bags for the specific pieces. If you collect the lego/mega blox ones you would know. Furthermore, Lego has 16, Mega blocks has 10-ish different figures in a case, while this has only 6.

Pieces to look out for : Sunstorm's wings, Crankstart's pipes, Spinester's rotors...

As for the rest, do the "elimination" method where if it has a piece that does not belong, it's not it, and try to guess the rest of the parts. This could be harder than lego due to the amount of pieces, when lego only has hat+head+body+leg+weapon ... But hey, 6 figures opposed to 16.

Codes are nice too... I'm sure hasbro deliberately put em on there, seeing how each has a specific instruction manual.

Yep, it all works. The only issue I could foresee with the "feeling" method though is that some parts might feel kinda similar. But yeah, codes, fingers, either one.

Now we just need to get these guys showing up in stores and we'll be all set.

Good to hear I won’t have to fondle an entire box of kreons to complete a set; I’m really looking forward to these actually, strangely more than any of the Prime toys.

Nice! Can't wait until these hit stores. I hope this information doesn't make it harder to find the ones I want...because everyone will know how to find the ones they want. XD

Ahh, easy to find and single packed Scorponok. Good stuff! If I like him enough I'll probably go for a few others, but for now I'll just get that little guy.

Megabloks has yet to come up with a new system of identification. They use number codes as well that are easily cracked. It's more sophisticated than this, but still useable for the determined.

We'll have to see how hasbro approaches this.

I'd be really surprised if Hasbro cares that people have figured out the numbers

Really? I've just been fondling them looking for the weapons. Is there a site that tells you how to decipher the code?

Also, can't wait for these to show up in other stores, my local comic stores suck.

Do we have ANY idea at all about when these are going to be in stores? Like, this summer? Fall? 2013?

Considering the very first post says they're already showing up at comic stores? I'd say this summer. ;)

whats the point of doing blind packs if you can ID them, i guess its a good thing so you dont have to waste money looking for 1 figure but still it defeats the point of doing blind packs.

If I had to guess, I'd say it has something to do with there being a certain number of each item in each case (or perhaps a certain range, like 1-2 of item A, 1-3 of item B, etc.). Otherwise, they could end up shipping entire cases of only item A. That could result in a drop in sales of the product if people don't think they can get anything other than item A, which is the point of blindpacks.

There indeed is.

I dont know which megabloks you buy, but I know marvel and halo have codes, there's lists out there.
