The Seeker Commander had prepared himself to speak once more before Thunderwing even had the opportunity to respond, however, the Warlord had beaten him to the punch. Starscream snapped his mouth shut quickly and cast a deep scowl in the carapace encased mech’s direction. Of course he would have all the answers. After all he’s obviously still sided with that walking freak show. And I know why.

From his position Stascream watched each member occupying the room and crossed his arms over his chest once more. It appeared that every concern that he could bring to the foreground was quickly countered with what the others believed to be a very worthy counter. For them perhaps.

The silver and red Seeker quickly whipped his head around and glared at the Stunticon Commander. The nerve of that poor excuse for a Decepticon. With a smug smirk affixed to his chiseled visage Starscream opened his mouth and, once more was prepared to speak when he was cut off by the bellow of an irate Predacon.

It didn’t surprise him really. The impromptu Decepticon lord was patient during the hunt but when it came down to it Razorclaw was not capable of handling the world of Decepticon politics. It will be his downfall…along with a crushed spark.

“I suppose I have no other choice but to go along with whatever you wish. Of course we could have saved all of the trouble from the start with one bellowing command, but who am I to say. After all you’re the one in charge.”

Starscream cast Razorclaw a passing glance before turning his attention to the other two mechs in the room.

“Don’t take this the wrong way, oh glorious leader, but I’m assuming that I’ll be the one keeping our one opticed friend busy while you and…”

The Seeker gestured toward Thunderwing with a sneer before returning his gaze on Razorclaw.

“…locate the pods the vehicons are in, activate their programing protocols, release them, and hope to Primus they follow your orders since they were…oh, let’s say, pre-programmed to take orders from the commanding officer present…and the last time I checked they were never told you took command from…who was it…oh yes…our good friend, the giant flying space gun!”

The Seeker Commander quickly waved both Razorclaw and Thunderwing off before they could even throw one degrading remark in his direction.

“But let’s not haggle over these minor tribulations. After all I’m sure you’ve already thought of them.”

With his most devastatingly smug smirks plastered on his face, Starscream brought his hands together in a loud clap and made his way over to Razorclaw. The Seeker placed a heavy hand on the Predacon’s shoulder.

“Now, what say we get this show on the road. I’m anxious to see how well this plan comes together.”

The same time he was playing up to his new Commander Stascream was also sending a comm. to the two Seekers he wished to accompany him. Skywarp…my staunch warrior and follower and Nightraven, who I can simply use as cannon fodder. If anything goes to the Pit she’ll make the perfect sacrifice to get me out of there in one piece.

Crew Quarters – Hellion and Nightraven

Just as Hellion paid little to no attention to what Nightraven was even talking about, Nightraven was paying no mind to the advice her berserker sister was providing her. After all it most likely consisted of shooting, beating up or just eviscerating something or someone. Never the less, Nightraven felt it necessary to include her sister in anything that was on her mind.

“No thanks, Helly. I’d rather keep both of them functional. Besides if you made one of them disappear you’d wind up in the brig…or they’d haul you off to Styx.”

Nightraven slumped further into her chair and let out a heavy worried sigh. She really needed to take care of this if she was to be able to work with either mech on an everyday basis. Her optics turned back down to her actuators that were now folded and laying in her lap while she thought through the options she had available.

“If I even try to talk to Thundercracker he’d ignore me…especially since what I want to talk to him about has got nothing to do with the war or Decepticon superiority.”

The black and purple Seeker placed her right hand on the right armrest while she placed her left hand on the opposite armrest.

“Talking to Skywarp is really easy. He listens and is genially interested in…well everything. But will he be willing to discuss something pertaining to his best friend and me.”

After a long pause Nightraven lifted her back off the chair, her optics bright as she came to an epiphany on the subject. A delighted smile spread over her delicate visage.

“I know what I’m gonna do, Helly! I have to get to the mess hall. I need to talk to…”

>>”Nightraven, this is Air Commander, Starscream. I require your presence in the bounce chamber. You will be briefed once I arrive.”<<

The femme Seeker froze as she received Starscream’s communique. It was certinaly unexpected since she was merely a scout and would do no good on any kind of mission requiring warriors. But he was the Seeker Commander for a reason.

Not wanting to keep the silver and red mech waiting Nightraven bounced out of her chair…sent Starscream a nonverbal acknowledgment, and jogged to the door. She spared her sister a quick glance and let Hellion know where she was headed.

“I have to go, Helly. I just got ordered to the bounce chamber by Stascream. I’ll see you later…I hope.”

She didn’t give her sibling a chance to ask any questions or offer up a snide remark before she was out the door and on her way.

Mess Hall

>>”Skywarp! I want you to meet me in the bounce chamber! I will brief you on the whys and wherefores as soon as you arrive. Now move!”<<

Motormaster’s Office – Bridge

Starscream had no care to remain in Razorclaw’s immediate strike range which meant he needed to remove his hand from the beast’s shoulder and make his way toward the door. After all he had his two Seekers already on their way to the chamber. Besides, the sooner they all set this Primus forsaken slagged up plan in motion the sooner he could return as the new and rightful Decepticon Lord.

“I have both of my Seekers headed to the bounce chamber as we speak. I suggest we not keep them waiting.”

With a sweeping motion of his hands Starscream gestured to the door he was not standing in front of.

“Shall we?”

While Razorclaw awaited a response regarding the vehicons from Thunderwing, Starscream decided to interject his own two energon chips once more. The Air Commander took a carefully veiled pot shot at the Predacon lord while at the same time questioning his idea to awaken said vehicons from their pods and hope that they would obey him and not automatically be loyal to Shockwave. Razorclaw let out a low chuckle before responding to the Seeker Commander’s unfounded concerns.

“You forget, Starscream, that I was the commander of the Thanatos before our cycloptic nemesis took control. If the vehicons follow anyone’s orders, it will be mine,” the lion-former replied with a glare directed right at the red and white seeker. “And, yes, if will be your job to keep Shockwave occupied while Thunderwing and I go to awaken our army. I’m sure you can handle that.”

Once Starscream was done with his minor taunts that served only to show how obnoxious he really was, the Seeker Commander was eager to get things under way. Razorclaw couldn’t help but to agree. “Very well. Let’s get going. We’ve wasted enough time talking. Thunderwing, you can fill me in on the viability of the vehicons as we make our way to the bounce chamber. ”

Razorclaw then took the lead and exited the captain’s office, re-entering the bridge proper. He gazed around at his animalistic unit, a smile growing larger underneath his face shield. “Predacons, arm up and head for the bounce chamber immediately. We are heading back up to the Thanatos to retake what is rightfully ours! An alliance has been struck with Starscream and Thunderwing. Along with Motormaster, two of his men and three seekers, we will return to Shockwave with a prisoner - the Seeker Commander, himself! However, it is only a rouse in order to get us back on board and thus position ourselves for the right moment to strike at Shockwave and his supporters from within. Now, move out!”

With his orders given, Razorclaw opened a private encrypted comm link to the Combaticon Commander to inform him of the plan that was now set in motion:

>>”Commander Onslaught, this is Razorclaw. I am contacting you with an important update on the current situation. We are making our move against Shockwave with the help of both Starscream and Thunderwing. Together, we have formed an alliance and have devised a plan to return to the Thanatos with Starscream as our faux prisoner. Shockwave still thinks I am loyal to him and that will be his downfall. Once on board, we hope to awaken a squad of vehicons to aid us in our assault. As for you and your team, I'm afraid I will need you to remain at the construction site as a security measure. You may be called upon to serve as reinforcements if needed. Otherwise, you are to remain on standby. If all goes according to plan, the next time we speak, Shockwave will be in our custody and the Thanatos will be under our control once again! Razorclaw out.”<<

Cutting his comm line, Razorclaw glanced back to see if Thunderwing, Starscream and Motormaster had yet joined him. “I will contact Soundwave once we are all down in the bounce chamber and request permission to board the Thanatos. Hopefully, once he knows that we have Starscream as a prisoner, we won't have any problems getting the necessary clearance.” The lion-former then pulled out a pair of stasis cuffs and tossed them over to the Warlord. “Thunderwing, if you would do the honors of shackling our prisoner.” Razorclaw cast an amused look over at Starscream, all the while trying to contain a hint of laughter.

Mess Hall

As Skywarp continued to sip the sludge that passed for energon on board the Stunticon frigate, he received a communication from Starscream, ordering him to get his aft down to the bounce chamber immediately. The teleporter had barely been able to catch up with Thundercracker and now he was being called off on another mission. At least ‘Warp wouldn’t be the one in charge of this excursion like the last time. Leave the thinking to the higher ups and let the prankster do what he always did best - fight.

“Well, ‘Cracker, it looks like our little get together has been cut short,” Skywarp said in a disappointed tone. “Screamer’s called me to the bounce chamber. I’ll be briefed when I get there. Can’t imagine what’s going on, but at least I don’t have to drink any more of this slop that makes energon derivative taste like high grade.” Tossing his half-full glass across the room, ‘Warp got to his feet and cast a smile down to the blue seeker. “Sorry, buddy. I guess we’ll catch up another time? See ya around!”

With a pat on his friend's shoulder plate, Skywarp took his leave of the mess hall, trudging through all of the junk that littered the floor as he went. He wasn’t sure what to expect once he got down to the bounce chamber, but something told him Razorclaw and the Predacons would be there, as well. Had Starscream made a deal with them? The answer was almost obvious, even to the teleporter. Still, the Seeker Commander always had an ulterior motive and this time would likely be no different.

"Hot slag!" Rampage said, unable to contain his excitement at the prospect of battle and looking over at the other Predacons in the room just to confirm that they had heard the same words come out of Razorclaw's vocalizer that he had. Headstrong was already out the door.

Guess so!

So this was it. They were going to get their ship back and Razorclaw would solidify himself as leader of the Decepticons. It had slaggin' well taken long enough. Decepticon politics. Bleh. He was glad Razorclaw dealt with that crap.

"Man, it's gonna feel good to be off this rustbucket and back on the Thanatos again," Rampage said, following after Tantrum, whose weapons were already emerging from his shoulder ports.

"Gonna feel good to smash the first little whiney glitch that gets in my way...and not have to file an incident report on the database," Tantrum added, stalking forward at full speed, not even stopping to acknowledge anything Rampage had said. Divebomb would likely not be far behind. When a hunt was called, they were all ready for it.

So not only he'd have to listen to Starscream's whining for who knows how long but now he had to leave a skeleton crew behind as well? That really left no options. Wildrider had got his aft kicked by Thunderwing which meant that the terrorist was scheduled for repairs. Then there was the fact of Dead End being the sole Stunticon Motormaster could actually trust enough to leave him behind alone. But this was not about leaving Dead End behind alone. It was about leaving someone behind to keep wounded Wildrider in check. And Drag Strip was the only one qualified for that job as long as Wildrider wouldn't manage to convince the racer to take on one of his idiotic challenges. That left team of Breakdown and Dead End as the only real option to be taken with him to Thanatos. Oh well, one had to do with what one got.

"Sure. I'll have two of my boys with me whenever you are ready." Motormaster replied back to Razorclaw and opened comm-link to Breakdown and Dead End. >>"Report to the bounce chamber this instant. We are going to do some sightseeing."<<

Hah. At least Razorclaw had finally acted like a real leader by bellowing at his squabbling lieutenants and giving some emphasis on it by slamming his fist against the desk before him. Although in Motormaster's opinion Razorclaw could have do it with fewer words. Then again, it sort of bugged him too that the powerful Predacon was content to trust so much on Thunderwing so quickly. The scientist had after all been away for almost as long as Shockwave and was acting like he had never been away. Not that Motormaster allowed himself to be overly troubled by this as long as Thunderwing would not rise to replace Razorclaw. The former aristocrat simply was too different from him. The Stunticon doubted if Thunderwing saw him as nothing but a thug to be used out of necessity, only to be disposed of later. Let him try, Motormaster would welcome the challenge.

As if on cue Motormaster responded like a provoked animal to his comments. He truly only understood things like an animal wood, everything was a food chain to him. The biggest and the strongest ruled because they were the biggest and the strongest. Intellect, cunning, those things were alien to the Stunticon leader. That is why he needed someone to control him, to hold his leash until it was time to release him into battle. So far it seemed Razorclaw was barely capable of doing that. All the more reason why he was the only one truly suited for command now.

Thunderwing smiled back at Motormaster’s outburst, displaying a row of needle sharp fanged teeth. “Yes Motormaster, and you certainly are the basest of all Decepticons aren’t you?”

Whatever reply the Stunticon had for that comment was cut off by Razorclaw’s outburst. The Predacon leader was very fortunate that his plans aligned so closely with his own. He did not appreciate being treated like some misbehaving underling. He was going to have to be harshly brought to heel once Shockwave was overthrown, likely followed shortly thereafter by Motormaster. As much as in fighting was a waste of resources if taking down a few meant the obedience of many then it was worth it. The fact that he would take great satisfaction at the same time was merely a side benefit.

He listened patiently as Razorclaw laid things out to them. It was all that he had already agreed with so he made no comments on it, although he still though the inclusion of any Stunticons was more risk then it was worth. Before he could reply to his question about vehicons Starscream interjected with more complaints. How did anyone follow such a whining coward as this? Perhaps that is why his reign has been so short lived. Thunderwing considered gagging him somehow as he would be playing a prisoner, but that was liable to arise more suspicion then was necessary. Unfortunately they would have to rely on him to control his vocalizer during this mission.

Thunderwing followed the rest of them out of the room, finally given a chance to answer Razorclaw’s question. “I was not aware of the activation of any Vehicons or other drones during my time on the Thanatos. My time on board was brief however and anything is possible since my departure. I have little knowledge of what is going on onboard the vessel now. Having them on our side would be ideal and worth investigating but it certainly isn’t a guarantee.”

The Decepticon caught the cuffs in midair, barely containing a smile of his own. He looked down at Starscream. “If you would be so kind as to play your hand behind your back so you can be cuffed. It will definitely assure Shockwave of your captive state.”

Crew Quarters – Hellion and Nightraven

Hellion continued throwing the little piece of debris. “Nah, I wouldn’t get caught. You just have to get rid of the body really well. Maybe chop it up into pieces and scatter it around outside. They’d probably never find it all and they wouldn’t know who to blame. It’s not like they can lock us all up.”

As Nightraven continued to talk Hellion began aiming her guns at the piece of debris in mid air. If she had to listen to Nightraven’s problems at least she could find some way to amuse herself at the same time. She threw it up again and took a shot at it. She missed and the ricochet shot bounced into the floor. The seeker frowned before taking another carefully aimed shot. She wasn’t exactly none for accuracy, but there wasn’t much else she could do right now to satisfy her appetite for destruction.

She looked over at her sister when she said she had it all figure out. The warrior frowned when she stopped abruptly, obviously receiving a signal from some one. She sat up in her chair as Nightraven dashed out of the room. “How come I never get any slagging missions? Is boring in here!” she yelled after her sister.

This is lunacy! They’re lunatics! This whole cockamamie plane is lunacy! Why on Cybertron did I agree to this madness?!

The same thing rolled over and over in Starscream’s mind as he stood by listening and watching each of the other Decepticons as they went through the motions of working together for the greater good of the entirety of the Decepticon Empire…Megatron’s Empire. Gah! The mere thought of the Slagmaker nearly had the Seeker Commander double over and purge what little energon that still remained in his tanks.

With his mouth shut and his vocalizer on mute, the silver and red flier cringed slightly as the stasis cuffs floated through the air and were caught deftly by the encased Warlord. Just what he needed a very testy Thunderwing eagerly waiting to bind his hands. This would turn out pleasant.

The sound of Thunderwing’s voice made Starscream grumble in protest but he still moved over to stand in front of the mech with his hands held out in front of him. It was the request that he place his hands behind his back that nearly sent the Air Commander reeling. He had already agreed to be the bait did he really have to suffer through another indignity?

“You must be delusional if you think I would simply be escorted and then dumped into the lap of a mortal enemy with my hands bound behind my back!”

He stared up into the Warlord’s optics for a moment and waited. And for what? If I refuse to comply they’ll simply take me down and force them on. ~Sigh~ I suppose I should go along with it…in the long run I will be the beneficiary and they will be inevitably ground beneath my boot. Yes, Starscream, follow along and after all is said and done you will be the one to reap the rewards.

Starscream let out a low and tired moan before he rolled his head and turned around so that his back was now facing the hulking form of Thunderwing. The reasoning behind the cuffs’ placement fell on deaf audials while the flier fantasized about what his new regime would be like. The tightening of the cuffs dashed his fantasy as he cast an angry glare over his shoulder and past his wing to look Thunderwing directly in the optics.

“Careful you fool!”

Stasis cuffs finally in place and all additional members of the boarding party called, the group of officers journeyed out from the office past the Predacons stationed on the bridge and exited out into the corridor beyond…their destination was only several decks away. They would arrive in the bounce chamber in just breems…after which the Air Commander’s life would be in the hands of several mechs who only wished to see his spark snuffed out permanently.

I will have this work in my favor. None of them will live to see my coronation! Every. Last. One. Mark my words.

Bounce Chamber

Nightraven had barely made it out of the room when Hellion called back to her about being bored in their shared room while she got to head out on what might have been assumed to be an exciting mission. The door had closed shut before she could throw a retort at her orange sibling, which was probably for the best.

She made good time…the last thing she wanted was to arrive late and irritate the Air Commander. As it was she was still having a difficult time trying to figure out just why she would be called. She wasn’t a warrior…she was a simple scout who worked reconnaissance.

She let the confusion slip as she stopped at the door to the chamber and watched as it slowly slid apart revealing the still empty room. A wave of relief washed over her as she slipped through the doors and made her way to the pad. She was the first to arrive…unless she was here to meet with Starscream alone. The smile that had its way to her face turned down as the through of being alone with the Commander ran through her processor.

Nightraven shook her head trying to rid the uncomfortable thought from her mind. She took another quick look around before her optics settled back on the doors.

“At least I got here early.”

Just as she turned her head to take another glancing sweep of the area the door slid open revealing the white and blue form of Breakdown. The scout took a tentative step over the threshold and entered the room slowly. He had yet to set his optics on the room’s lone occupant as he was too engrossed in looking for potential threats such as Motormaster.

The femme Seeker watched the paranoid Stunticon sweep his optics over his immediate area before he finally looked up and spotted her poised directly next to the control panel. Nightraven narrowed her optics as their eyes met with Breakdown refusing to back down.

“I remember you. You…you were in the re…repair bay.”

She didn’t respond at first instead she just stared. She could tell the act was making the scout uncomfortable but she wanted to remain on guard.

“Maybe. I usually visit repair bays. Was that visit a problem?”

The terse line that his lips formed began to curl at their sides as he stalked in further to the chamber. His movements caused Nightraven to step back in order to keep as much distance between her and the Stunticon as possible.

“Oh no. Not at all. In…in fact I was quit happy to see you. Me and my brothers in fact.”

Nightraven nodded slightly and took another step back just in case.

“I think you mean “quite” not “quit”.”

The smile that started to form broadened further as Breakdown finally reached the console where Nightraven had taken refuge behind. The white and blue was set to reach out and grab her by the wrist when the door slid open giving access to Skywarp. The black and purple Seeker pressed into the room only to stop as the door opened up once more granting access to the Officers. Razorclaw led the entourage followed closely by Starscream with Thunderwing and Motormaster flaking him on either side.

Nightraven had to double take as she watched the Air Commander being led in with his hands cuffed behind his back. The femme’s mouth dropped slightly in an attempt to send a query in the direction to the Air Commander but the sound of the door opening had her turn slightly to see just who had arrived this time. As if there weren’t enough of them already Dead End meandered into the chamber and took up a place against the nearest wall waiting patiently for an explanation as to why he had been called away from less important things.

Bounce Chamber

Skywarp traversed the corridors of the Stunticon frigate as quickly as his legs would carry him. It would have been nice to simply teleport down to the bounce chamber, but considering how cluttered the ship was, he didn’t want to risk teleporting into anything that was sitting out in the open where it didn’t belong. No need to become trapped within an inanimate object right before a new deployment, whatever the mission would be.

As the doors parted in front of him, Skywarp entered the bounce chamber and quickly spotted Nightraven standing behind a console across the room with the Stunticon Breakdown nearby. He smiled at the seeker femme and began walking towards her when he heard the doors behind him open again, revealing an entourage of high-level mechs, including the new Predacon “lord”, Thunderwing, Motormaster and a stasis-cuffed Starscream. The sight of the Seeker Commander shackled sent a shiver down the prankster’s back plates, but he remained silent as to not draw the ire of Razorclaw or any of the others. Dead End then meandered into the room along with the rest of the Predacons.

A increasingly confused and worried Skywarp quickly made his way to Nightraven’s side. “I can’t believe it. Screamer’s in stasis cuffs! This must be a mistake! What the slag is going on here?!” The teleporter exclaimed in a whisper. However, before she could respond to him, the new “leader” of the Decepticons took to the center of the room and began to address everyone present.

Razorclaw stood in the middle of the gathered ‘Cons and gazed around the chamber, looking each one directly in the optics before moving on to the mission briefing. “Some of you may be wondering why we’re all here. Others, like Skywarp and Nightraven, are likely wondering why Starscream is in stasis cuffs. The answer to both of those queries is simple. We are returning to the Thanatos with the intent of defeating Shockwave and his followers and retaking the warship as the same time. In order to do so, we must bring the Seeker Commander to Shockwave as a prisoner. It is a ruse. That walking calculator still believes that I and my Predacons are loyal to him. It will be his undoing. Once we are on board, everyone is to act like we are loyal to Shockwave. While Starscream is being interrogated, I will attempt to awaken as many vehicons from stasis as possible. When I give the signal, we will retake the bridge first as the vehicons secure the rest of the warship. This plan is not set in metal and must be fluid in order to maintain the guise of loyalty to the cycloptic mech until the time is right to make our move. Is that clearly understood?”

The Predacon lord glanced around the room once again before continuing on with the briefing. “If there are no questions, I will now contact Soundwave and request permission to bounce up to the Thanatos. Everyone be ready for any eventuality.” Razorclaw finished speaking and moved over to the console where the two seekers were standing nearby. Skywarp immediately moved out of the way, grabbing a hold of Nightraven’s forearm and gently pulling her along with him. The lion-former punched in a few keys and made a secured link with the Thanatos:

>>”Soundwave, this is Razorclaw. I am contacting you from the crashed Stunticon frigate, Ultrax. My Predacons and I have succeeded in our mission to subdue Starscream and currently have the Seeker Commander in our custody. We request permission to bounce aboard the Thanatos at the earliest convenience in order to deliver our prize to Shockwave. I am sending you our coordinates now. Be advised, we also have several additional ‘Cons that are joining us to declare their alliance to the Military Operations Commander. We await your response.”<<

Standing not far away with Nightraven by his side, Skywarp watched and listened as the Predacon “lord” contacted the Decepticon communications specialist in orbit. The only thing he hated more than the lion-former posing as leader was that monotone mech with the personality of an empty energon cube. Still, the plan that Razorclaw had previously laid out seemed on the surface to be a viable one, but could the Predacons be trusted not to betray the seekers and their commander to Shockwave? It was a question that caused the teleporter to cast a concerned gaze over at Starscream, hoping for some kind of gesture or response from the true leader of the Decepticons.

Bounce Chamber

The arrival of Skywarp into the Bounce Chamber did not go unnoticed by either Nightraven or Breakdown. Leave it to the teleporter to ruin a perfectly good match up with the femme. The smile that Skywarp threw at the lithe attractive Seeker femme was a tell-tale sign that the fliers were close and advances were probably not the best option at this point.

Breakdown averted his optics from the advancing warrior and took a few steps away pressing his back against the wall. Once there he quietly slid up beside Dead End who still hadn’t made a sound. That suited the scout just fine.

Nightraven let out a relieved sigh once the black and purple Seeker had entered the room…she was more relieved, however when the white and blue Stunticon spotted Skywarp as well and decided to take his leave. The femme’s attention was drawn to the entourage that had eventually followed Skywarp.

The lone femme watched closely as Starscream was led in behind Razorclaw and flanked by Thunderwing and Motormaster. The scene was something she had wished never to see…even though she was unsure of the war seeing the Air Commander being led in bound was just not what she had expected. Nightraven placed a hand over her lower abdomen and the other on her upper chest. She tried intently to quell a low gasp so as not to attract attention to her by, not only the mechs escorting Starscream, but the Air Commander as well.

“I…I. What’s going on? I don’t get it…”

Nightraven had moved closer to Skywarp as the teleporter had finally settled in at her side. Her unbelieving statement and question were whispered to the black and purple Seeker just as his was to her.

At that moment it was Razorclaw…the interim Decepticon Lord…until Starscream reclaimed the position…who briefed the collective. It served to explain the reason for the unusual circumstances that had befallen their Air Commander, but it certainly didn’t explain just why she and Skywarp were needed.

She was curious to know their role in the whole of the plan but she dared not raise the query…especially not to the Predacon Commander. She much preferred to hear the reasoning from Starscream himself. Unfortunately she knew that approaching the silver and red Seeker would not bode well with those who held fliers in contempt.

Nightraven had looked to Skywarp and was prepared to question the teleporter concerning their need to speak with Starscream when she felt her forearm being grabbed by the Seeker warrior as he gently pulled her along with him and away from the console she had sought solace behind when Breakdown had first made his advances. Nightraven had moved along without hesitation if only to be out of the Predacon’s path. She came to a stop pressed against Skywarp’s right side and her optics fixed on Starscream.

As Air Commander of all the fliers within the Decepticon ranks Starscream knew it was his duty to reassure his underlings that the agreed upon plan was a sound one and that it had been discussed in full and was without a doubt foolproof. However, that didn’t mean he needed to let his own men know that if it was required he was more than willing to sacrifice them if it meant that he lived to lead the Decepticons to victory. Their sacrifices would not be in vain of course.

Starscream took a passing glance at the two Seekers he had chosen to accompany him to the Thanatos. One…a warrior he had worked alongside for vorns upon vorns and had molded into a kind of zealot. Skywarp would dive headlong into the Pit if he was ordered to do so. The perfect warrior and follower. The other…she was truly expendable. If need be he could use her as a shield in order to make his escape. The perfect escape plan.

Nightraven caught Starscream’s glance and subsequent slight nod. He opened one of the private channels the fliers were only privy to. He wished to deliver his orders quietly…after all these two were his soldiers.

>>”Alright you two. The orders that Razorclaw has so eloquently provided stand until I decide otherwise. You will accompany us to the Thanatos and when we come face to optic with Shockwave you will immediately request that my life be spared as I am the only one who will be capable of Commanding the Seeker army and the rest of the Decepticon fliers. If I am eliminated the Air Corps will spiral into chaos giving the Autobots a distinct advantage. Do either of you have any questions…and Primus help you if you do.”<<

The black and purple femme took a quick glance in Skywarp’s direction before looking back at the bound flier and gently shook her head. It seemed simple enough and if all they had to do was arrive…explain the reasons to keep Starscream among the living and then sit back and wait…well that was certainly something she could handle.

Nightraven pressed back against Skywarp in order to get his attention. She agreed to go along, but the whole thing seemed too dependent on what Razorclaw and Thunderwing could do while Starscream did all he could to stall Shockwave. To her being in the same room with the disturbingly logical mech was be the bigger gamble. Something just didn’t seem right.

“Is it just me or does this plan seem only dependent on those two leaving Starscream alone with Shockwave? I don’t like this…not at all.”

Her misgivings were offered to Skywarp in as low a tone as possible so as not to be heard from anyone else in the room. The last thing she needed was to draw attention to her uncertainties.

Thrust listened to all of the events taking place as the crimson bot was wondering on where was he going to be. Following the rest of his seekers, it led him to the bounce chamber where commander starscream, Razorclaw and the others are getting ready to board the Thantos. What was going on and why didn't commander starscream send a comm link also? Answers were needed in order for Thrust to comprehend the subject. Thrust gestured towards Starscream as he spoke up to him.

"Commander Starscream, what will I be doing? Or will I be joining you as well?"

Leaving him here on the ship as the only seeker is a bad thing in his opinion. Who knows what can happen as anything can happen in a nano cycle. Thrust awaited to what the seeker commander had to say before continuing further.

----

Divebomb got his weapons ready as he headed out to the bounce chamber with his fellow predacons. It was time to take back the Thantos and have the predacons at the top of the food chain. All that was needed was for Shockwave to accept the bait and allow them onboard. What he does with Starscream is none of his concern as it will be better if they just leave him there. That way once Shockwave is eliminated, Starscream can be eliminated too thus ending a future feud that can divide the decepticons again. Whatever fate awaits the decepticons, it shall happen on the predacons terms.

Skywarp listened carefully as he received the communique from Starscream over the seekers’ shared private channel. Now, his and Nightraven’s role in all this was clear to him. Begging for their true leader’s spark seemed easy enough. Whether it would work was another story entirely. The Air Commander even told them exactly what to do and say and when to begin their pleading with Shockwave. The teleporter liked not having to think about coming up with a plan of his own. Let others like Starscream, who are far more capable, devise such strategies and just let ‘Warp carry them out.

When Starscream was finished issuing his orders, Skywarp kept his optics locked on the red and white seeker as he responded to the true leader of the Decepticons over the same secured comm link:

>>”No questions, Commander Starscream. Your orders will be carried out exactly as you gave them.”<<

With his acknowledgment sent, Skywarp felt Nightraven press gently against him, a clear sign that she was trying to get his attention. He slowly leaned in closer to her so that he may hear the seeker femme’s quiet concerns without having to strain his audio receptors. “I don’t like it either, Nighty,” the prankster replied in a whisper that only she could hear. “But we don’t have a choice. At least with us up there, Starscream will not be alone in all this. We must do whatever we can to help ensure his survival. Our futures depend on it.”

Skywarp then looked over at Thrust, who he had not even noticed in the room before, when the crimson warrior suddenly spoke up and asked Starscream what he should do. Great, that's all we need, a coward that will tuck tail and run away instead of protecting Starscream, the teleporter thought, giving Nightraven another concerned glance. The prankster wanted to respond to the uninvited guest, himself, but decided against such an action. After all, 'Warp was not the Seeker Commander and while he had his own opinion on the matter, he would happily leave the final decision up to Starscream and simply accept the outcome whether he liked it or not.

Most of the things going on in this room were well above Dead End's pay grade. He knew that once Megatron was gone, there would be conflict among his favorites over who would take over. The hows and whens, though, those were definitely lost on the Stunticon. At the end of the cycle, Motormaster told him where to be and that was good enough.

He looked over slightly and saw that Breakdown had sidled up next to him. Where were the other two? Weren't they all going?

Dead End didn't like this. For all the slag the various mechs on the unit gave each other, he had been with them so long that he had become adjusted to the dysfunction. This...whatever this was...was something new. And new, in his experience, also meant ripe for failure.

"I have a bad feeling about this," Dead End whispered.

Who would be surprised?

Once Soundwave’s communique was received, Razorclaw responded with a non-verbal acknowledgement before he returned his attention to the assembled group of mechs in the chamber. “We have been granted permission to board the Thanatos. The game is set and about to begin. Everyone take your positions on the bounce pad,” the Predacon lord commanded as he swiftly entered the coordinates of his former warship into the control panel, setting a countdown before the beam would initiate. Skywarp gave no outward response whatsoever and simply did what he was told, even though it pained him greatly to listen to a filthy Predacon. The teleporter cast another worried expression over to Nightraven as they waited for the enviable.

With everyone ready for departure, the lion-former stepped out from behind the console and joined the rest of the boarding party on the platform. Razorclaw stood at the front of the group with Starscream directly at his right side, arms still securely stasis cuffed behind the seeker’s back. Immediately surrounding the two rivals were the rest of the Predacons and behind them were the remaining mechs of their team. All was in place. Now came the hard part.

Shockwave was not stupid by any means and would have the proper security measures in place for Starscream’s impending arrival. Soundwave already indicated as much in his transmission. Everything had to be taken into account before any move could be made against the cycloptic scientist and his followers. Otherwise, their plan to usurp Shockwave would come crashing down around them. If that did happen, however, at least Razorclaw had the option of using Starscream as a possible scapegoat and place the majority of the blame on him. It was something the Predacon lord hoped he would not have to resort to as he would rather not have to follow the one-eyed 'Con ever again. Of course, survival of himself and his unit was paramount over being executed.

As the countdown reached its end, a brilliant white light enveloped the room before flashing away along with the entirety of the boarding party.

Repair Bay

With no one around in the room did that infernal beep even make a sound? Maybe. But only for the medical drones that were manning the location. Finally the steady beep died down and the door cracked letting the built up steam escape. And once the CR chamber had depressurized the device’s door slide open the rest of the way.

“The slag hit me?”

Wildrider stepped out of the chamber his legs only slightly wobbly. Thanks be to Primus Motormaster wasn’t present to see him nearly make a fool of himself by falling flat on his aft…or worse falling flat on his face. Now that would be something he’d never live down.

The terrorist let out a quiet chuckle as he took hold of a nearby table and shuffled over to the far wall…the one directly next to the exit. He wanted to make sure he hadn’t missed anything important…like someone getting slagged. Now that would have been a tragedy…the missing out…of course.

With any luck good ‘ol MM will be the one offlined.

The smile he was sporting quickly faded and was replaced by a deep sullen frown. Now that was wish he and his Stunticon brothers would never see come to pass. If only. If only.
Slowly, and carefully, Wildrider took his leave of the repair bay and workded his way toward the barracks where he was sure he’d find the others.

Barracks

On his way the crimson mech’s balance returned and he finally stabilized his gait. It was a good thing too as he was now standing before the group’s living quarters. Why he had to share was a mystery as there were a few separate quarters to be had, but those few went to the officers and those two irritating femmes. Well, one irritating femme and her deranged sister. It was a shame those two didn’t have separate rooms he would have loved to pay that Hellion a nice visit. The other one could go suck on a sparkplug for all he cared.

That single thought drew out a delightful giggle. Now that would be funny.

Wildrider let out another boisterous guffaw as he then entered the barracks and spotted only Drag Strip. His laughter quickly subsided as he scanned the area for Dead End and Breakdown but neither of the mechs was in sight. With a shrug Wildrider moved fully into the area and flopped down on his berth…which just happened to be directly across from Drag Strip.

“Well, well, well. And how’re we doing?”

He leaned back until he was resting his upper body up on his elbows. The terrorist then took a good long look at the former racer and smiled.

“Hey Draggy, where‘re your lady friends? I noticed they seem to be…um…well, missing. They find out you were cheatin’ on 'em?! HAHAHA!”

Drag Strip had finally found what he had been longing for - peace and quiet. Lying on his berth in recharge with his optics off-lined, the former racer was alone to relax with nothing more than his own thoughts to keep him company. Times like these were hard to come by, especially while under the tyranny of Motormaster. Thankfully, the violent Stunticon Commander had seen fit to call only on Dead End and Breakdown for some kind of mission, leaving the yellow mech, who was great at everything, by himself in the barracks that he was forced to share with his brethren. Unfortunately, it would not last. It never did.

Breaking the peace and serenity of Drag Strip’s surroundings, Wildrider entered the large room and made an immediate beeline for a berth that was situated directly across from where Drag was resting. The terrorist wasted no time in starting up a conversation with the former racing champion, asking him how his was doing before quickly following that up with a few verbal jabs regarding his missing lady friends. The yellow mech tried to ignore his mentally unstable comrade and pretend as though he was still alone with no one around to bother him. Alas, that was easier said than done.

“They’re around. Not that it’s any of your concern,” Drag Strip replied as he on-lined his optics and cast a glare over at Wildrider. “And I’m fine, thank you for asking. By the way, how’d that attack on good ol’ Thunderaft go? I hope you gave him a real thrashing. Heh.” The former racer’s query and subsequent statement was loaded with sarcasm as he already knew the general outcome of the terrorist’s encounter with the Warlord. Drag just wanted to hear the humiliating details directly from the cyber-rat’s mouth.

The smile that had worked over Wildrider’s face was quickly replaced by a deep hate filled sneer. The nerve of that pompous wannabe loser! Who did Drag Strip think he was? The terrorist let out a guttural growl as he pushed himself up off his elbows and into a sitting position. Still he kept quiet as he took in his brother’s prostrate form. Wonder what it’d be like to tear him apart…slowly.

“Ha! I could care less about you or the others. And as for my attack on that idiot Warlord…I held my own…which is obviously more than I can say for you!”

His last words were punctuated venomously as he pushed himself up to his feet and casually walked across the room. He stopped right next to the berth Drag Strip had claimed, his hip pressing against the metal as he looked down on the former racer.

“You know, Draggy, I can always give ya a firsthand look at just what I did. It’d be fun…for me.”

Wildrider had grit his teeth and started down his hands shot up and his actuators spread ready to wrap around that skinny little neck. He stopped just as suddenly as he started and raised his optics when he heard the ship-wide comm open up…they were under attack? How the slag did that happen?

The terrorist turned his attention back down to Drag Strip…a bright broad smile spread on his visage. This must be his lucky day! Wildrider quickly grabbed a firm hold of the former racer’s wrist and tugged until the mech was on his feet.

“Let’s go, loser! Whoever kills the most ‘Bots wins!”

Before Drag Strip could say anything to the contrary Wildrider was transforming and out the door.

It was bad enough that Waspinator was put into stasis-lock again, but to be ignored and shunned from his comrades was just too much. Waspinator guessed that it would pass before, but it never does.

Ever.

Waspinator then began to wonder of the possibilities of a Decepticon therapist. An Insecticon one. A femmebot too...

Waspinator then realized that he was probably wishing for the impossible and his face fell again.

"Wazzpinator needzz empathy, but no one carezz about Wazzpinator!" Waspinator sobbed, trying to comprehend why no one really cared about him.

Then he realized something. Maybe he could have more respect if he knew more...

Waspinator immediately snatched his weapon, holstered it and transformed into a small wasp, barely visible to the trained optic, and buzzed out of the crew quarters. Next stop: Bridge!

Drag Strip’s smile only grew larger once Wildrider’s look quickly dissolved into that of a sneer, conveying his displeasure with the former racer’s prior words. The terrorist’s preposterous assertion that he held his own only made the yellow Stunticon laugh out loud, a sound that echoed throughout the empty barracks they both found themselves alone together in. “Yeah, I’m sure you held you own, ‘Rider. Is that why you ended up in a CR chamber for several cycles? I don’t recall being in one of those recently! Ha ha!”

Drag Strip watched the reaction of his tormentor as he finally sat up and swung his legs over the edge of his berth. Wildrider’s follow-up threat was as hollow as his “successful” encounter with the Warlord. “Please, spare me your delusions of beating the best,” Drag replied as the terrorist made like he was actually going to do something violent, but then stopped suddenly as the ship-wide comm from Oil Slick filled the loud speakers. Autobots were attacking the construction site and all Decepticons close enough were needed to fend them off. At least now the yellow mech didn’t have to be stuck in this crashed frigate listening to his lunatic brother’s taunts anymore.

“I’m coming, ‘Rider, you slaghead!” Drag Strip shouted after the terrorist who was already out of the room. Without wasting anymore time in recharge, the former racer leapt off his berth and hurried into the corridor. “And I’d love to see you actually kill a ‘Bot in battle! I can’t even remember the last time you did something like that! Must be old age catching up to you, I guess! Heh.”

With a heavy rev of his highly tuned engine and Wildrider was out of the door and already speeding through the corridors to the nearest air lock. Truth be told once he got to one he still had to come up with a logical way of actually making it to the shore. After all the Ultrax was located miles out to sea and driving that entire way was just…well…stupid.

The disappearance of the terrorist worked out in Rodimus’ favor as it left his target alone and vulnerable. The trailing red of Wildrider’s tail lights kissed the dissipating wisps of dust and mist as the form of Rodimus Prime appeared in the corridor.

The deep blue illumination of the Prime’s optics grew brighter as the crimson Stunticon drew further and further away. For a moment Rodimus stared over his shoulder but decided it unnecessary and instead returned his attention to the hall leading deeper into the center of the Stunticon vessel. There was no point in teleporting into the barracks as he knew his herald would have already left in order to follow behind his Decepticon comrade. No, appearing just around the corner would have the desired effect.

Rounding the bend and being stopped by his Master would at first cause some confusion, but like his brother before him, Drag Strip will be convinced of his true purpose…forcefully, of course.

“Come to me, Drag Strip. Your Master awaits you.”

Drag Strip was disappointed that Wildrider had apparently not heard his verbal jabs in regards to killing an Autobot. After all, if the terrorist’s audio receptors had caught wind of the former racer’s statements there most certainly would’ve been further taunts aimed at the overinflated ego of the yellow Stunticon. As it were, there was nothing but silence in the corridors of the downed frigate. In fact, things were eerily quiet, more so than usual.

How many fraggers had gone on that mission anyway and why wasn’t I, the greatest at everything, invited? Drag Strip wondered to himself as he quickly rounded a corner only to be confronted by the imposing form of a flame-covered mech standing directly in his path. “What the slag?!” Drag shouted aloud as he slid to a sudden halt just a few feet away from where Rodimus Prime stood. Almost immediately he noticed the Autobot symbol that adorned the former cavalier’s fiery chestplate. “Where the frag did you come from, Autobot?! And what are you talking about, my 'master'? I seriously doubt Motormaster sent you here! I can't be fooled. I'm no idiot like the others on my team!”

Not waiting for an answer, Drag Strip pulled out his weapon and quickly backed away from his much larger adversary. The Autobot in question looked a lot like the one called Hot Rod, but this mech was very different, more mature and seemingly more powerful by the sheer looks of his greater size and strong stance. Aiming his gravito gun directly at Rodimus, the yellow Stunticon opened fire, hoping the close quarters of the hallway would prevent the flame-covered intruder from escaping his shots.

>>”Wildrider! It’s Drag! Where the frag are you?! We’ve got an Autobot on board. He’s in the corridor directly in front of me! I have no idea how you missed him, but you better get your lousy aft back down here and help me!”<<

Drag Strip didn’t like having to ask the terrorist for assistance, but somehow the former racer knew that he would require back-up to handle this large opponent. The Autobot had not only managed to get on board undetected, but he had also found their location at the bottom of a deep ocean when even Soundwave had not been able to. How that was remotely possible was beyond Drag’s comprehension. Regardless, Rodimus appeared to be a powerful foe and would require more than one Stunticon in order to take him down. If he could be taken down, that is.

Rodimus Prime offered Drag Strip nothing by way of an explanation as to how or why he came to be on board the Decepticon ship, instead the Prime simply smiled. The expression remained even as Drag Strip pulled his weapon and backed away. Such typical behavior especially from a Decepticon. Of course he certainly couldn't blame the warrior. After all he had possessed the body of an Autobot and still bore the brand of said faction. Why would the former racer trust him?

Rodimus decided to take his chances and extended his hand before advancing forward. He was stopped, however briefly, as the Stunticon opened fire on him with his gravito gun. The Prime had to admit his chosen herald had tried hard, but still there was nothing he could throw at him that Rodimus couldn't just shrug off.

As soon as Drag Strip ceased fire Rodimus lowered his hand and cocked his head slightly to the right taking in Drag Strip.

“Calling your comrade will not help. Nothing and no one can help you. For you see, Drag Strip, whether you realize it or not, you belong to me.”
____

Wildrider had taken off so quickly that he hardly realized that his yellow brother wasn't tailing him down the hall. Of course Drag Strip could have just decided to let the terrorist run himself out only to overtake him just on the cusp of a victory. Drag was like that.

He was unwilling to let his teammate win this little race so instead of continuing and becoming the butt of the former racer’s joke, Wildrider stopped in his tracks and transformed. He let out a low grumble as he began to work his way back the way he had come in an attempt to weed out his trailing brother.

The terrorist had only made it several steps when his comm line lit up. It was Drag Strip and the fragger sounded…well, he sounded desperate. Drag Strip sounding desperate and calling him was not good. But when he heard the reason why the racer was so desperate Wildrider smiled.

>>”Can’t take on one little ‘Bot, eh DS? Well, don’t you go and worry that pretty little horned head of yours…Wildrider will come and save you from the big bad piece of Auto-scrap! HAHAHA!”<<

With his smile broadening Wildrider took off at a brisk jog before he leapt in the air and transformed back into his Ferrari 458 Italia alt mode. If anything he’d get to take down an Autobot and gloat right in front of Drag Strip’s face.

Drag Strip looked on in utter shock and bewilderment as his blasts simply bounced off of the invading Autobot like nothing more than a mere nuisance. How could that be? Rodimus should have felt some kind of effects from the weapon. No, he should’ve felt more than that. The flame covered mech should either have been crushed by forces beyond his control or been torn apart like a mechanical rag doll. Unfortunately, neither one of those scenarios had happened. Instead, the intruder cocked his head at the former racer and stated that his Stunticon brethren would be of no help and that Drag now belonged to the former cavalier.

“I belong to no one, Autobot!” Drag Strip bellowed, knowing full well that he actually did belong to one mech - Motormaster. However, the Stunticon Commander was not present and thus technically he had no “owner” around to speak of. “I don’t know how you became so powerful, Hot Rod, and I assume it’s you since your markings are the same, but I’m nobody’s pet! I'd rather die than be a slave to you!”

Drag Strip then transformed into his Dodge Viper SRT-10 alt mode and backed away, deploying his plasma energy blaster in the process. “Since you didn’t seem to mind my gravito gun, perhaps you’ll prefer a shot of raw power!” Aiming his car-mounted weapon directly at the chest plate of the enemy invader, the yellow Stunticon unleashed several balls of explosive energy, hoping this attempt would work where the last one had failed.

Drag then received Wildrider’s reply via his comm link and quickly responded in kind:

>>”Listen you condescending moron, this is no ordinary Autobot! He looks like Hot Rod only he’s much larger and way more powerful. I would say he rivals even Motormaster now! The slagger just shrugged off several shots from my gravito gun with no ill effects whatsoever. And yes, before you say it, my weapon was working fine! Rodimus simply relished the look of shock that had worked its way onto his final herald’s face. It really shouldn't have been such a surprise to the Stunticon that he had been chosen. Drag Strip was a perfect candidate.

A smile creased the corners of Rodimus’ lips as he took in the words that had spewed from Drag Strip’s mouth. ‘Autobot’ The word left a bad taste in the Prime’s mouth. Before long Drag Strip had converted into his alternate mode and began to back away…obviously in an attempt to acquire enough room to fire his weapon. And so it was, but Rodimus easily dodged several hits while actually absorbing the final few shots.

“You have nothing to fear Drag Strip…I am no Autobot. Nor am I a Decepticon.”

The Prime began his advance once more taking slow purposeful steps in order to close the distance between he and his target.

“Hot Rod? No, no, no. But there is a reason I look like him. But you will learn of that in time. Now come, this process will go much faster and less painfully if you simply give in now.”

The red and orange mech extended a hand to his prey.

Wildrider let out a sadistic laugh over his comm when his Stunticon brother sent back a response. To the terrorist Drag Strip seemed to just be whining about nothing. He should have been capable of handling one lone ‘Bot alone, but if his former racer comrade wanted it Wildrider would oblige helping…after all it was a battle, and what ‘Con didn't like a fight? And when it was finally over he’d gloat…oh how he’d gloat.

>>”Just suck it up you second rate wannabe! If he looks like Hot Rod then it must be Hot Rod.”<<

The deranged mech let the line grow silent before he gave in to Drag Strip’s idea and took a quick right in order to come up behind the mech ‘formally known as Hot Rod’.
Without slowing his speed the terrorist spotted Drag Strip and the large form that was now nearly looming over his racer brother. The sight was strange. The Autobot looked right but he wasn't…taller and at this point he looked much more sinister. Slag! What the frag is going on here?!

Reigning in his apprehension Wildrider hit the accelerator and launched his vehicle form into the air aiming right for Rodimus’ back. At the last moment the Stunticon transformed and let out a war cry that could have filled the entire ship.

Rodimus was not the least bit surprised to hear Wildrider arrive…after all Drag Strip had called him and no matter how much the two despised one another neither would give up the opportunity to fight a lone Autobot. What a surprise the terrorist would get.

Keeping his hand extended out to Drag Strip, Rodimus turned slightly at the waist and plucked the screaming Wildrider from the air with his free hand. His aim was perfect catching a hold of the attacking mech by the neck and finishing off the move with a hard swift chokeslam to the floor. Rodimus’ extended hand retracted as he turned his full attention on the newly arrived Wildrider. He cast down a malevolent smile causing the mech below him to look on in a mixture of fear and confusion.

“You’ve arrived at the wrong time Wildrider.”

Wildrider struggled in the Prime’s iron grip going so far as to try and dig his fingers in between Rodimus’ closed hand but it was to no avail. Instead it only proved to provoke the flame emblazoned mech who in turn tightened his grip and never stopped. Wildrider let out a static filled cry as his neck finally caved in destroying his vocalizer in the process.

With no means of vocal communication and under the mercy of his sworn enemy, Wildrider cast a pleading gaze to his brother but that ended once Rodimus released his neck and quickly flipped the unfortunate soul onto his front. Wildrider attempted his escape by dragging his body as fast as he could but he found himself immobilized before he could get too far.

With his foot planted painfully on Wildrider’s back, Rodimus glanced over his shoulder at his soon to be herald…his expression stoic and uncaring.

“You see my herald even you can have this power.”

With his optics still focused on Drag Strip the Prime raised his foot and brought it down. His foot savagely connected with the back of Wildrider’s cranium only to be raised again and brought down quickly in another devastating stomp.

It took only two blows to end Wildrider leaving the terrorist lying in a growing pool of his own spilled energon…his head crushed nearly beyond recognition. Astroseconds later the crazed terrorist was in stasis lock.

Rodimus removed his energon stained foot from the caved in remains of Wildrider’s head and turned back to face Drag Strip. He extended his hand once more and smiled.

“It’s time to go, Drag Strip. Your brothers are waiting…as is my Master.”

The Prime once again began his advance.

“Come my herald. It will only hurt for a moment.”

True fear had now enveloped Drag Strip as he watched the fiery Autobot easily dodge his energy balls while absorbing the last few like they were nothing more than a simple light show. Hot Rod should have been blown backwards by the blast or at least singed a little. But neither of those things happened as the intruder continued to approach the former racer, claiming to be neither an Autobot nor a Decepticon. The flame-covered mech then denied being Hot Rod regardless of the similarities in appearance.

Yeah, right. This guy’s crazy! Drag Strip thought, keeping his comments to himself considering that nothing he had done thus far had even scratched his much larger adversary. No need to anger him, after all, the yellow Stunticon reasoned as he backed further away while trying to decide his next move. It was then that Wildrider’s new response boomed through his comm line, but before Drag could reply again, the terrorist was already in the corridor on the other side of Rodimus. Without even considering the recklessness of his actions, ‘Rider propelled his vehicle mode into the air and transformed as his war cry echoed throughout the halls of the frigate. Idiot! Good way to give yourself away!

“No, Wildrider, don’t!!” Drag Strip called out, trying to warn his comrade. It’s not that he really cared about the terrorist’s well being. Far from it. It was just that Drag needed all the help he could get at the moment, even from someone like ‘Rider. Unfortunately, his warning went unheeded. The grey Stunticon had dug his grave and now he was most certainly going to lie in it.

Without so much as breaking an energon sweat, Rodimus grabbed Wildrider by the neck while in midair and slammed him down hard onto the floor before crushing his vocalizer to prevent any further screams of pain. The terrorist then cast the former racer a desperate look for help, but Drag was frozen in place, unable to fully process what his outward sensors were seeing. His comrade was subsequently flipped over and cranial unit ultimately smashed by the repeated stomps of the fiery invader’s foot. Wildrider had tried to escape his fate but it was to no avail. It seemed that nothing could escape from this creature that looked like the Autobot cavalier.

Once Wildrider was deep in stasis lock, Rodimus turned his attention back to Drag Strip, who still remained in vehicle form, and extended his hand. The yellow Stunticon considered racing away down a side corridor, but what good would it do? He could run, but surely this supernatural being would catch him. It was like Primus, himself, had returned to punish the unfaithful, and the terrorist certainly fit that description. However, there was one thing that puzzled Drag about this strange mech and that was the promise of power like what had just been displayed. This was not to mention the fact that Rodimus kept calling him his herald, whatever that meant. Regardless, it seemed that if this flamed-covered ‘Bot wanted him dead, he could’ve done so already just like he did to the pile of scrap that once was Wildrider.

Cautiously, Drag Strip returned to robot mode and glared back at Rodimus. “So, you promise me power? Power to do things like that?” The yellow Stunticon looked back down at the terrorist’s remains, pointing a single actuator at them, before returning his gaze to the Prime. Truth be told, Drag was not against the acquisition of more power. It was what he lacked which kept him tied to this hellish unit under Motormaster’s tyranny for so long. It had crossed his processor on more than one occasion to simply leave the Stunticons behind as he found them to be beneath his stature. However, the fear of Motormaster’s wrath kept that from happening and also kept the former racer from reaching his full potential. Now, Rodimus was promising him the power to do just that, assuming he was telling the truth. Although, something deep down was telling Drag to trust this being. It was a connection he now felt with the former cavalier, one he had not noticed before this very astrosecond.

“If you can give me the power to break away from Motormaster’s grip and even help me give that slagger what he deserves....” Drag Strip began as he took a deep intake of air. “....then I’m all yours. I don’t care how much it hurts just as long as I don’t have to be a fraggin’ Stunticon anymore!” With those words spoken, the former champion hesitantly stepped towards Rodimus and accepted the outstretched hand into his own.

“Are you sure this is the right way? I thought that gun fire came from the other direction.”

The worried tone of the Decepticon fueler did not go over well with either of his escorts. With an aggravated sigh the black mech walking in front of Octane took a quick look over his shoulder and addressed the taller apprehensive ‘Con.

“If you don’t stop whimpering like a frightened femme I’ll have to incinerate you where you stand. Now shut it!”

There was a low chuckle that came from just behind Octane.

“Oh, I’d love to see that! Although good ‘ol ‘Tane is probably chock full of fuel…so he’d blow up real good but so would we. But I’m willing to take that risk.”

With another loud guffaw Runamuck waved his hands in the sir catching Runabout’s attention. The black mech stopped his advance and looked back to his silver brother.

“Hey ‘Muck go ahead and set him on fire! I wanna see him running around in circles screaming for his batch proto-inhibitor! HAHA!”

A swift slap to the back of the head silenced the maniacal laughter that had spewed from Runabout. He quieted down quickly, not from the slap but only because he wasn’t sure how the black mech had moved so fast without him even noticing.

“Come on. I know I heard voices coming from this direction.”

Both Octane and Runabout followed along in relative silence. The gun fire they had heard before and the previous message from Oil Slick made them realize that the Ultrax now held not only them but an unknown number of Autobot invaders.
____

Rodimus stopped his advance when he was just an arm’s length away from his new recruit. He offered the unsure mech a gentle smile, one that would tell Drag Strip that accepting his destiny was the right thing to do.

“Power, my herald, is just one part of it.”

Rodimus took a passing glance over his shoulder at the mangled form of the Stunticon terrorist. With a broad smirk on his face the Prime looked back at the yellow mech.

“I know you wish to break all ties with your Decepticon brothers…most notably the oppressive brute Motormaster.”

Rodimus took one step closer.

“I promise you the power to destroy him and all other Cybertronians. Their oppression shall not go unpunished. They all stand accused...accused of existing.”

The Prime’s smile broadened as Drag Strip finally relented and took a step closer, his hand extended in acceptance of his true calling. Rodimus obliged reaching out to take hold of what was rightfully his when he heard the sound of heavy footfalls. Rodimus’ smile faded replaced by a deep frown when he noticed both Battlechargers barreling toward him with Octane trailing behind unsure if the idea to race in half-cocked was the best one.

With an angry growl the Prime twisted at the waist ready for Runabout’s quick assault. The silver mech raced in with his fist raised ready to send a devastating blow to the right side of the Autobot’s face when he was suddenly stopped. The flame covered mech had moved so fast that when his fist was caught mid-motion, Runabout could do nothing but look in awe. The surprised expression quickly faded as his hand was wrenched around painfully and then brutally torn away at the wrist.

Runabout fell to his knees clutching the stump that was left behind. In the meantime Runamuck decided to make his move and advanced on the invader from behind. His attack was anticipated however as Rodimus twisted around sending the black mech flying across the corridor with a savage backhand. Runamuck’s head slammed mercilessly into the wall leaving a sizable dent in its wake and knocking him into stasis.

With his hand still clutching at the stump Runabout got back to his feet and took a quick glance at the offlined form of his black twin. The shock trooper let out a feral scream and charged forward, his shoulder down, but before he was able to get close enough Rodimus simply vanished only to appear behind him. Runabout stopped and attempted to turn around to face his adversary but was stopped by a hard blow to the right side of his face. He went down hard…his optic shattered and the entire side of his face dented in. He attempted once more to stand up but he was put out by one last kick to the head which sent him crashing into the body of his offline brother. And there he stayed.

It was then Octane’s turn. Rodimus lifted his gaze and locked optics with the stunned fueler. But instead of him turning tail and running Octane grit his teeth, raised his flamethrower and opened up on the red and orange mech.

A hell fire of thousands of degrees engulfed Rodimus but caused no damage, instead the flames seemed to fuel the Prime. His body absorbed the heat and flames causing Octane to cease his attack and watch in confusion as Rodimus raised both arms to his side and directed a torrent of white hot fire back at the stunned Decepticon. Unable to avoid the frightening attack Octane was quickly engulfed. The intense heat began to melt paint and fuse circuits…the pain so intense the fueler could do nothing but flail about and scream. The desperate attempted to extinguish the flames ended when he finally fell unconscious before the Prime’s feet.

With the three encroachers handled, Rodimus returned to Drag Strip and took his heralds hand in his. He gently pulled the mech to him and leaned down to whisper in the former racer’s audio.

I have called you, and you have come. Now, you are mine.

Rodimus slowly rose back up to his full height and placed his hand on Drag Strip’s chest just over the mech’s spark.

“As I said previously…like your brother…this will hurt, but not as much. Your surrender will make this less intrusive.”

The process went quickly and smoothly, certainly not as difficult as it had gone with Darkride, but then again the interrogator had been struggling.
