Leader Brawl transformation instructions?

Postby Rocketeer » Sun Mar 02, 2008 12:38 am

Hi there, everyone.

I've been dying to get a Movie Leader class Brawl for a while now.
(Yes, yes, I know I should've gotten Deep Desert Brawl, but I rather like the green deco.)
I finally managed to track down one on eBay that I could afford.
Sounds good, right?

Well... yes and no.

The only one I could afford was an open box one.
That's no biggie in and of itself, because I want to transform the thing back and forth.
I transform and re-pose my Transformers a lot.
(It's sort of therapeutic, really...)
I'm just not the kind of person that can leave something cool in the box.

Anywayz...
The only catch is that there are no instructions included with Brawl.

Now, I haven't actually gotten the figure in the mail yet, but I figure I shouldn't wait until the last minute.
I don't want to go off half-cocked and try to transform Brawl from scratch, because I don't want to risk damaging it.
Especially after stretching my budget to buy the bugger.

When I got my 20th Prime (also open box with no instructions), I was able to find the manual on Hasbro's website.
No such luck with Leader Brawl.
Can't find online instructions anywhere.
Just a bunch of stop-motion YouTube videos that don't look terribly helpful.

So here's the point of all this:
Could anyone scan the Leader Brawl instructions for me? Or at least point me to where I can find them?

Anyone who can help me out will have my undying (or, at least, long-lived) gratitude.
Thanks in advance.

You can get the instructions easy enough online.

!!!HOWEVER!!! I do not recomend buying this figure loose. He is loaded with hair trigger spring clips that are highly defective!

Countless are the nightmare stories I've heard.

In theory, if these clips where designed better this could have been one of the most awesome bots ever offering a tricky transformation coupled with alot of automation.

Thene their are the other QC issues like the double claws that break right off, and the dual cannons that aren't glued to the trurret...

Get thia figure if you want, however I recommend you get him with an active return/exchange policy.

Dude if you can't find the instructions anywere you can always look for this guy's review on ebay since most of the reviews show you how to transform him.

Sucks, but if it does turn out to be a dud, you can still find him on the shelves, do a box swap and return him.

You can also look on the Hasbro TF site, they normaly post instructions.

Good luck, I hope it works out for you, if you keep him in alt mode, just be carefull cause those side pannels pop right open.

And hey, if no one said it, welcome!

Well, here's the listing that I just won:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=160211855542&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=006

So, it's coming in alt mode.
With no box.
In bubble wrap.

A bit of a gamble, I suppose.
But it *could* be worth it, right? :P

Also, I checked Hasbro.
No luck there.
But I did find some rather low-res scans of the instructions.
That plus some YouTube videos will probably suffice.

And thanks for the welcome.

Weapon: Reciprocating Laser Cannon
I have Brawl, it is an awesome figure, but with or without instructions, it has one of the most difficult transformations.

I have no prob with the side panels in alt. mode, the gray clips keep it in place, the only prob I have with the figure is that one of the claws are easily falling down.

Thanks for the luck. :-)
I'll definitely be updating y'all with the results.

When I bought my 20th Anniversary Optimus, it was pretty much the same deal.
He came in the box, but no instructions and a few pieces had fallen off.
He went back together easily enough.

While I have y'all's ears, though, I've been wondering something:
Is it worth getting the new Movie Deluxe Arcee?

I mean, I'm not much for pink, but I really really like the alt mode.
The only problems I'm noticing in pics are: (1) wheels on the shoulders and (2) that thing that looks like a tail hanging off her bum.
Other than that, the $10 price tag plus the sweet alt mode have me practically sold.
Is the robot mode worth it in terms of looks and poseability?

I just seem to have a strange fantasy of posing Arcee with Leader Brawl.
(Don't look at me like that...)

I haven't had any trouble with my Brawl's parts, but then again I don't use him that much. Anyway, I think for only $12 you can take the gamble; it seems like a good price to me. Have fun.

Well... Leader Brawl came today.
Looks pretty cool.
Good condition.

The only thing I don't like is all the kibble hanging off the back of his legs.

Also the batteries are dead.
Anyone know how to change 'em?

do you want arcee just for her alt mode ? if that's the case i'd suggest you to wait for a while and get animated prowl. i'm not such a big fan of biker transformers but i really like prowl so i'm deffinitely getting him as soon i can.

Well... I really like the alt mode.

But one of the main reasons I wanted to get Arcee was to have a Movie-style Transformer to pose with my new Brawl.
And the store's out of Incinerator.

Then again, I've finally seen a full 360 of the alt mode, and I see that there's a big wheel on Arcee's... tail.
I'm not entirely sure about it now.

Any reccomendations on a good Voyager transformer to pose with Leader Brawl?
I had figured that the female Arcee would be a good complement to my other figures (20th Ann. Optimus, MP Starscream, & Leader Brawl).
So what do y'all say?

EDIT:
When Brawl is in alt mode, there's a hole right under the cannon.
I can see his head in there.
Am I doing something wrong? Or is that just the way it's made?

 Ive actually done that before with a Deluxe BumbleBee but I would definitely suggest Ani Prowl over movie Arcee

Well... I've got Leader Brawl now, kibble and all.
I can look past the flaws.
Thankfully, those side panels work just fine once I figured out how those little clips work.

As for Arcee...
I went to my local Target today, and they still have over a dozen of her.
She ain't going anywhere anytime soon, so I'll mull it over a bit more.
I just want to have a decent Movie style TF to go with Brawl, kind of like I have two G1 style MPs, y'know?

Meanwhile, when precisely are these Animated toys coming out??
They look sweeeeeeeeeeeeet, especially that Prowl one.
But I haven't seen any in stores.

Good to know.

Meanwhile... which is the smaller one: Deluxe or Voyager?
I never can remember?

Thanks for the link, Barrel.
I'd found those the other day.
Printed them off, watched a few YouTubes, and now I can transform Brawl without instructions.
Good to go.

In any case...
Still trying to figure out a good Movie TF to get to go with Brawl.
I may end up buying Arcee next week anyway. Not sure.

I just want a little $10 Deluxe or something inexpensive.
(Thanks for settin' me straight on which is which, Orion.)

I would try for another Movie Leader, but I can't stand the Movie Megatron or Optimus.
Even Nightwatch Optimus is too... strange... for my tastes.

Well, it's not a matter of "must have."
As it is, Brawl actually goes better with my MPs than I thought. :-?

I may just lay off the collecting until the Animated line comes out.
Somewhere there'll be an Ultra Magnus and a Prowl with my name on 'em. B-)

-------

Update:

After much unscrewing and rescrewing, I found the battery compartment of Brawl.
I discovered that the batteries had been removed.
I then proceeded to discover why.

Them's sensitive buttons, eh?
I haven't even tried transforming him yet, but Brawl made a rather loud racket just putting him back on the shelf.
I then realized that changing the batteries out while everyone else in the house was asleep... might not have been my brightest idea.

Update:

I finally broke down and bought the Movie Arcee.
I think it was worth it after all.
She poses pretty well with Brawl.

The only things I don't like about her are her hands.
First off, they're visible in alt-mode.
Secondly, they don't hold that gun at all, and the clip on the arm is too flimsy.

Other than that, I don't regret the purchase.
I've got Arcee posed sitting on Brawl's shoulders right now. Lol...
