This is what I did for the Pred vs. Max tourney. Simple process.

- Create HTML file (through excel) which enumerates all tournament missions (start mission # + 5 copied down many rows and use excel equations to put <a href=...> tags around the mission #)
- Open HTML file in Firefox
- Use DownThemAll to get all HTML files on local machine (so Seibertron has no major impact; it has a one time request to load the missions from my machine and then my machine saves the HTML from its in memory firefox session)
- Use regular expressions to slice and dice participants, winners, blah blah
- Paste expression results into excel
- Pivot tables for the win

The pain was the regular expressions. I never automated it. So it took me 30-90 minutes per round to get data into excel and pivoted / filtered to only report on tournament participants.

Reddy-poos objection to this though is quite valid. Old school checking adds involvement. I liked the Pred vs. Max trash talking and we still tracked postings. The regex madness was confirmation and to get totals for factions (translate: saved me time). The idea was quite sound for mission win counting and kill counting. Would help in scalp hunt validation significantly if someone could automate what already exists.

p.s. I shared this with Psych before I last disappeared due to life. However I'm not sure I ever transferred knowledge well enough to make it reusable.

p.s.s. Oh, and formatting to post into the forum was painful... I finally resorted to posting images so the pivot table matrix would be clear.

Just a reminder that the tournament finishes at 9pm GMT (about3 and a quarter hours time). I will announce the final mission (the closest counting one to close admission before 9pm) as soon as I know it.

This last day has been one of the most enjoyable hunts I've ever partaken in. There's nothing like a really close contest to make it interesting.

Shame I utterly ran out of level 3s in the last 3 quarters of an hour. Gave you an advantage at the most inopportune moment.
