TFW2005 made an interesting discovery at
Dollar General, an assortment of four Legends Class figures repacked in generic Transformers packaging. The assortment consists of
RtS Optimus Prime,
RtS Starscream,
Universe 2.0 G2 Megatron, and
Universe 2.0 Bumblebee. However, Bumblebee appears to be closer in color to his Toys"R"Us exclusive DOTM Cyberverse Evolutions release minus faction symbol. The figures are priced at $6.00 each. Image courtesy of

Just found those yesterday and bought Megatron and 'Bee.
I was wondering why they weren't in the news yet.

I missed out on these the first time, and always regretted it. Now I might have to stop by a Dollar General during lunch today.

Dollar General, where things aren't actually a dollar. Lol.
Nice find though. I own the two RTS's already. The Universe figures look pretty nice. Might have to see if my local chain has them since I really like the RtS ones.

Thank you kindly. I'll be sure to report shiz that's not in the news yet as soon as I see any around this vast, barren farmland known as the Ohio Valley.
EDIT: Note that the two RtS figures
do not have rubsigns, but instead have tampographed faction symbols.

I made that humored comment to my brother when I saw the price. Still cheaper than the ebay run though, so if people wanted them it would be the better way to go (barely).

Being that Megs and Prime were recently sold (and at some places still are being sold) at various discount stores for $3-$4 that does sound pretty steep. However, the G2 Megs and Bee are pretty hard to find, so $6 isn't bad at all for them, especially since you don't need to get them shipped.

missed out on prime & starscream the first time thanks to crap distribution and HTS not keeping them in stock so i might have to hunt down a dollar general. Any word on if the G1 Megatron will get the same treatment? Thats the one i really want.

I just picked up a set tonight. I completely forgot about these guys. A shame that there's not something different with Megatron. The others completely appeal to the completionist in me.
I also snagged the 2011 Classics Universe packaged "The Ultimate Battle" two-pack which has the deluxe Optimus Prime and Megatron toys. While I own several versions of both molds (including the original Classics versions), I noticed that Megatron had the movie Decepticon symbol instead of the traditional Decepticon symbol. I normally don't pick up minor variants like that, but for some reason I just couldn't pass these up.

Huh...if I see the Optimus with the sword I might pick it up. I've seen the regular version and passed on it, but having a weapon makes it a touch more attractive.

I already got Optimus from Dollar General... without the sword...
Oh well... I'll continue to use one of Shattered Glass Drift's pistols as Prime's gun...
