In my early years of MOCing (thats My Own Creation-ing in LEGO)... I set sight on building Snapdragon because he's one of my favorite Transformers Triple Changer. Back then, I didn't have much parts to get started, so that MOC end up having different color than it's original toy]. Finally, time have come for me to improve him because I can't bear to see him in yellow anymore.

In the original toy, Snapdragon is a Headmaster triple changer that transforms between a jet , a dragon (hence his namesake) and finally a robot. The headmaster companion is a minifigure that transform into Snapdragon's robot head and beast head as well. However, due to issues pertaining the head-size ratio , I've decided to build him not as a headmaster Transformer, but maybe his incarnation from "Fall of Cybertron" era. This is when Transformers have not much gimmicky features except changing modes and of coz... given a rifle or two to defend themselves.

OK to cut things short... photos below :)

I dig how incorporated the dragon head into the tail wings. I'd say that was a darned clever move. In a way, I'd even say that's an improvement. I was never particularly fond of the idea that the headmaster was the head in both modes. It never looked convincing to me (I'm a robot head...unless I'm lying on my back...then I'm a dragon head with a robot face on top).

And the hind legs are spot-on. They most certainly evoke an iconic attribute of the original.

LOL... the darned head actually caused me a week of "misery". After deciding he no longer viable as a Headmaster in my project, I've been finding ways to place the rex head in the jet mode. What you are seeing is a "forced implementation". It could've been worse (imagine Victory Leo jet mode )

I dont mind making a dual-headmaster . But its the size that kills it for Snapdragon. I can't choose between one of the two options, so I skipped 'em:

- normal sized robot head, but tiny rex head
- normal sized rex head, huge 'bot head.

That is simply amazing. I used to make my own Lego creations back in the day and I never came up with anything half this advanced. The fact that it completely transforms without any partsforming is mind-blowing. :D
