I've just received news from a friend of mine that LEGO Universe is going to be closing late January 2012!

This is MADNESS!

It really angers me.

Could this be a prank? Or the truth?

LEGO should just make a deal with Mojang, and then set up a Minecraft server with a few mods to make the game more LEGO-like, and with LEGO texture packs enabled. There's a real LEGO universe game for you. (Like that would ever happen)

I'm not sad to see this game go, mostly because I saw some of the concept art. A massive, freebuild world where anything could happen. Spaceships crashing in the street, blimps, airships, the world being built and renovated around you. But instead we got a terrible WoW knockoff with a finicky building system better left to LEGO Digital Designer.
