I never understood the GEEWUNNERS way of things. I mean, I watched G1, it was cool, it was fun. but it was SO far from being the best. I understand the nostalgia factor, I grew up with Beast Wars. Yet, once I started on the next TF series, I knew what was up, I didnt care if optimus was a truck or a monkey, I just knew that he was the leader of the good guys, and I liked him! He was couragious and he turned into a firetruck! Whats not to love?

Even when I was little, I knew that the transformers series were not all connected, and I was fine with the diversity, RiD Being my favorite series because of it, even to this day!

If they make the next movie a reboot, I say that people need to deal with it. Look at the new spiderman film. May not be in the same storyline, but its spiderman, no one really complained about it, did they? No one screamed "WERES DA EMO GUY!?"
no, they just sat down and watched the new spiderman. it was as simple as that.

And Transformers, IMO, would be no different. As long as Bumblebee is big and yellow, and hangs out with humans, the paople will love him. As long as Optimus is the big heroic leader, people will adore him for being as such. And as long as they stop throwing the story out the window with all the little inconsistancies and dick jokes, the fans will love it too!

I am yet to stumble upon a reason why a reboot would be a bad thing. The first three films ran their course, it's time for some new meat.

I wouldn't mind a continuation, with Lennox being the main character. Perhaps the story could be he and Optimus becoming really good friends, and then bring in the Powermaster concept from the comics, where humans try to kill the transformers in some way, and Lennox would have to become Prime's Powermaster. But that might be a stretch for general audiences. I also want it revealed that even though Prime ripped out his spinal cord, Megatron is being secretly kept alive by the government, unbeknownst to Optimus. Just cerebral casing and spinal cord. (If you've seen RoboCop 2, the same they did with Cain.)

You really think they would make the same mistake twice?
I think it would be cool if they made gaurdians for earth, reverse engineered from megatron's remains, and the autobots had to fight off a machine uprising. But I doubt it would go that route.

Really, there isnt a whole lot they can provide, seeing as how all the main bad guys are dead.

Unless the autobots dump the bodies into space were they are intercepted by minions of unicron, and resurected or some jazz, I think this trilogy is done.

That would confuse the heck out of the audiences.Beisdes, there is Transformers Prime, the games and the aligned novels.
PrimeStriker wrote:Haha, I can't wait to see the confusion on semi-TF fans faces when there's a reboot that doesn't connect to the other 3 movies

I dont want to get technical, but they can be called Transformers fans, even if they only watchted the live-action movies.
BeastProwl wrote:I know the comics tell you, but the movies do not. Id'e love to get my hands on the movie adaptation comics that explain everything. I have tales of the fallen and the rotf movie adaptation, not much else. I know they die, but they never say so on screen, witch kinda blows.

Knowing that theres is a crowd that has blind hate for them, even if they appeared to say "Hi" people would rage.

Personally, i dont want a reboot for the sake of a reboot.I mean, the Spider-Man franchise only rebooted because people didnt agree what they should do.I'm sure they can tell a story.Who would say that The Fallen was gonna appear in the movie?I didn't expect Sentinel Prime to be there. So i know they can do it.

In an interview with Jeff Kline at Botcon 2011, he said they had discussed doing a theatrical film for Prime (source)

Yes, they can. But if they don't know anything about there being any other series, they would be very confused if there was a reboot.

Now that would be cool! A live action season finale for prime as the next TF movie. What do you think?

Personally, as long as they keep originality and keep it exciting, I don't care if Prime is a 15-year-long series.

However, the Aligned Continuity was launched "with the intention of being the foundation of most Transformers projects for the decade to come."

So, if they're very specific on the point of decade, they're probably going to end their Aligned continuity projects in or by 2020 (as the Aligned Continuity began in 2010), which comes in 8 years.

Humans vs Autobots would be a likely scenario.

Lots of other things could happen after the fallout of DOTM. Rogue Cons might ally themselves with human terrorists, Sector Seven might be revived (without Simmons) to continue research on Cybertronians, and thus threaten Autobot lives.

Oh man, if done right, that would just ROCK! Of course, I imagine that there would be a lot at play at the end, seeing here in 2012 we've got 5 factions fighting against each other (or we did at least). But the idea of Prime ending with a live movie intrigues me. I wouldn't even mind seeing a prequel to Prime, since the bots were already on Earth and set up with the government (idk how much of that is covered in other works).

But anyways, as far as TF4 goes, I want a reboot. You can only revive the bad guys so many times, and I don't like a lot of the character potrayals and deaths already. The whole "Boy and his car" (or better yet, boy and his robot) could've been much better. I think they should go with a little kid, and give it the same kind of appeal as Iron Giant or Super 8, or the TV shows for that matter. You can still have great humor without the vulgarity, and as long as there's no blood gushing I don't think there's a problem with the same awesome slo-mo shots we're now used to. It would appeal to a larger audience I think.
