That is what happened to me. I was extremely hopeful until I saw the trailer. I then became only hopeful despite the monster alien depiction of the Transformers. I hoped for change. I then found this site and became neutral. After the trailer, I lost all hope. I have been out of school with a stomach ulcer since September and I felt lonely. I then joined to interact with people who thought the same and to enjoy conversations with other people. By the time I joined, people I wanted to meet who I shared opinions with were mostly ran off. AK has recently left and I'm left with a depression knowing the conflict of opinion has made the fandom a war zone which I believe has worsened my physical and mental health. This, I believe, is a dark time of Civil War.

di Bonaventura wrote:. But people feel really passionate about what these Autobots and Decepticons stand for and there’s a very rich mythology so there’s a real demand to deliver that. So for the non-fan of it, we had to have enough fun with it so that they would be entertained and for the fan, we had to take it very seriously what we were executing around the Autobots and the Decepticons".

Leonardo wrote:Okay, with regards to the actual quote, I think it's quite clear that, rather than them not giving a "rat's ass", they've actually tried to strike a balance with this movie by appealing to both fans and non-fans. That, in my opinion, is worthy of a salute.
It's clear from this, and previous interviews, that the producers as a whole have tried to cater for everybody. Whether Bay himself has is another matter, but the people around him are at least trying to be fair.
Look at the quote again.Lorenzo Di Bonaventura in Movies Online wrote:So for the non-fan of it, we had to have enough fun with it so that they would be entertained and for the fan, we had to take it very seriously what we were executing around the Autobots and the Decepticons.
He doesn't say, "We're not doing this for the fans, we're doing it for those that have never had contact with the franchise". He says we're trying to cater for both. It's not fair to pounce and cry "sacrilege". Reading is a rudimentary skill.

The G1 Marvel comic was a shoot 'em up sci-fi with a teenager mixed up in it and Beast Wars barely resembled Transformers when it was brought to the table.
I read the Movie comic today, and it is far from both of those. The designs don't look anything like anything I've seen (other then the drones looking like Armada Thrust) I still think it has the general feel to it, and I also feel the movie will have lots of qualities to make it feel like Transformers when I see it on the big screen.
I also have to agree with Leonardo. Di Bonaventura seems to be giving it his all to appease the fans to the best of his abilites. I'm sure he'll never read this, but I thank him.

You'd be surprised, remember when mr. Don murphy showed up here on our forum?? that was cool. and granted we have no way of really knowing that was him, but man it sure did talk and know things he would know.. even if it were an imposter, it was pretty cool none the less..
