I got back into toys long after I moved out from home, so I'm not even sure if my folks know that I collect. My partner is really supportive; she's even gone out and bought me a few whenever I've been too busy with work, and has even surprised me with stuff I hadn't gotten around to buying, bless her soul!
Its good to see that peeps here have supportive partners; seems like the stigma about collecting is really diminishing.

My parents don't mind at all, cause they except me. It's cool to have a relationship with someone who is also a geek. That's why me and my boyfriend get along so well. He doesn't mind that I'm all about Transformers, he knew what he was getting when he 1st met me in person. I also live with a roommate who is also a Transfan. So it's all cool.

My friends know that i like them but obviously don't appreciate them as much as me, and my little brothers don't really care one way or the other about them. My collection is 210+ big, all MIB and MISB, with like another 50 or so displayed on shelves in my room.
But yeah, after continuing with the hobby since 2003, i've been gaining some respect around here for it; my friends sometimes call when they pass by tf aisles and ask me what i'm looking for, and my dad stopped giving me flak about it after i found a g1 jetfire MIB at goodwill for $7.00, complete with box, styrofoam tray, all of the armor/gun/gunclip/techspec decoder/minicatalog, figure in good condition with no yellowing and etc. The only problems with it are just with the box, those being some box wear, the plastic window is cracked/open, and the flap is creased. So one day he came into my room and started the usual flakfest, and i pointed jetfire out on my shelf, then showed him what to him appeared to be the exact same thing; an AFA graded 85 one on ebay, buy-it-now for like $4,500 and that pretty much wiped his smirk off his face. Now he thinks it's a good idea getting tf's, in the long run anyway.
