M.A.S.K.

So I stopped into the local Salvation Army and found the Manta, of course I bought it, but it was missing the driver and ejector seat. I looked around for them but couldn't find them. I was a little surprised to see only two of them on ebay.

It's been so long since I've seen any of these and I used to love the cartoon.
I can't believe what these things go for online (complete). The only toy I have from childhood is the green motorcycle/helicopter, which I found in the road while on a family vacation, not sure why I never had any as a kid. I certainly knew kids that had them and remember playing with them.

Are there any M.A.S.K. collectors here? I would imagine these would fit in nicely with a Transformers collection, especially with the humans from the HA line.

Also if anyone can help me get the driver and the ejector seat that would be awesome.

The Condor! I got him, too. I also have the Chevy Bel-Air, Hurricane I think. I actually just sold off three of the figures for a nice profit. I saw a Switchblade for a dollar, but it was missing too many parts.

I noticed that if you have the right figures w/ the helmets they are bank.

The Switchblade was the main villain's vehicle right? It was like a helicopter and a jet I think. Man those were some fun toys.

My brother is 5 years older than me and he had some of the M.A.S.K sets as a kid. I especially remember the white van that had the red jet inside of it as well as a black Semi truck. They are in my parents garage somewhere. There are actually all kinds of old 80's and early 90 toys of ours in there that I need to fish out.

While we are on the subject, have any of you seen the Robot Chicken parody of the M.A.S.K theme song? It's all kinds of awesome.

Bulldog's my fav, along with switchblade. I ever only had one though. It was either Razorback or that dune buggy that turns into a jet. It was one or the other. leaning more towards razorback.

I used to like M.A.S.K as a kid. I always thought it would make a decent live action movie as well.

I found the M.A.S.K. vehicles I still have..
The Manta (minus Vanessa Warfield and the whip helmet) and the Stinger(Scorpion) complete with driver Bruno Sheppard and his mask Magna Beam.
I have to condor bike but that is in storage in my mothers storage shed.

I also have a bunch of loose figs, some with masks and some without.
I also have T-Bob with Scott Trakker..

It took a while to get to the good part, nice find though. Before it played I was thinking maybe it would be like the T.V. show Viper, little surprised that's not still in production.

Ah... M.A.S.K.! Next to Lego and Transformers, my biggest toy crush. And I am glad to say that I have a complete M.A.S.K. vehicles collection, all complete including figures, masks and accessories! I was always careful with my MASK collection, so they are all in excellent condition and many are still in box. Some of my favorite vehicles are Switchbade (helicopter - jetplane), Goliath (racecar+transport - highrise missilelauncher+jet), Stinger ('70 Pontiac GTO - tank), Outlaw (oil tanker - command base) and Jackhammer (Ford Bronco - assault vehicle), but in fact all of them are pretty cool.
I do have some problems with the Split Seconds series: the MASK vehicles and figures produced for that series suffer greatly from rubber rot, which has affected even the best kept Masks and rubber tires.

Anyhow, I used to spend hours and hours playing with MASK... Simply loved it all to bits.

A friend of mine just gave me a giant box of M.A.S.K. toys. He was moving and knew I was into toys and said I could have them. He said he had every toy they made. He was pretty sure they were all in the box. I took them out and there was a ton of them. Problem is, I need to go through each one of them, clean them up, try to put all the pieces with the right vehicle, figure out what guy goes with which, and which masks go with which figures. Ugh. then I am going to try to sell them.

If any of you guys know of a good website that would have all that info neatly and easily laid out, it would be greatly appreciated.

Not very many active MASK sites on the net, but Albert Penello's Mask site is probably the best one of all, with good pictures of all the vehicles, figures and masks. Or you can take a couple of pictures and I'll have no problems identifying everything (including what might be missing).

Thanks alldarker. I will check that site out. If I come across some stuff I'm not sure of, I will let you know. Now if only I can find the time to put into it...

That's impressive Bowspearer. What's your favorite out of what you've got? I remember wanting the Jackhammer when I was younger, the Outlaw looks cool too.

It's interesting that you ask that question, because it's hard to give a straight answer. MY childhood favorite is a tie between Slingshot and Raven, but then as an adult, I picked up so many that I didn't have as a kid and so it's become hard to choose.

For me, the Split Seconds line these days have been the real interesting line. When I first saw them, I was underwhelmed, but as time went on, I started looking past the fluro colour schemes to see some amazing designs in there.

Then you have Boulder Hill that's awesome because, well, it's Boulder Hill, while the motorised action of Volcano is really nice too.

It's a tough one really.

The Volcano kinda reminds me of those motorized Monster truck toys from the 80's with the pop out claws in the tires so they could "Handle any terrain" The more I look at that thing the cooler it looks. I may have to try to pick one up. :)

Nice MASK collection there, Bowspearer! I'd say your collection is about as complete as mine: don't think I have many MISB vehicles but most of my collection is very MIB.

I was never into the merchandise, so I don't have the racing set (although I do have a die-cast metal toy car Thunderhawk which is pretty cool).

The Split Seconds were indeed pretty cool, except for the quality rubber they used on that series: seems everything that's soft plastic or rubber in the Split Seconds vehicles is suffering from (severe) rubber rot. Do you have that same problem? I've been looking for a replacement Jackal Bruno Sheppard for the last couple of years but I'd say there are NONE which still have perfect masks for Bruno Sheppard or his clone.

Biggest MASK regret? Not buying a Thunderball prototype on eBay, due to finding out two days too late that it was sold (for about $1,000+, BTW).

Ouch, that's gotta hurt.
