Anyone else fascinated by this concept? Sort of like a Geneva Convention. Personally, I've always felt the concept of "Rules of War" a bit silly since, because it's war, it's really a matter of survival and you do what you do to survive. Besides, the worse forces always disobey those rules anyway.

My point, without getting political, is how does this work in the Transformers universe? What kinds of codes of conduct do they have? If SixShot can run around detroying worlds, and Megatron can order the eradication of entire planets, but neither are considered breaking that code, what is? What about what Bludgeon tried to do with Thunderwing in Stormbringer? What about what Shockwave was up to? Who decided on these rules and why? Is Magnus the only one that persecutes them?

Who is the Decepticon High Justice that Magnus references at the end of his spotlight? Who's involved and how does it work? Are they equal or above Megatron? Does he follow rules of these mandates?

Anyway, I'm just curious how you all feel about these and if you're as fascinated as I am. I think it's an awesome idea that I'd love to see expanded upon.

States the Tyrest Accords as prohibiting tf tech from being passed on to less advanced cultures. So I guess its ok to obliterate planets, just dont give them your microwave.

Personally, I think Magnus was a law enforcer on Cybertron, and he has carried this over after Cybertron was abandoned. I think there are only rules of morality in war eg if a school is in the middle of a battlefield, bith sides hold off until its completely evacuated. But there will always be those who take the law into their own hands, or break it completely.

Sweet! This is good stuff! I would assume there's a bunch of other rules inherent here too though. Like.. the way I look at it, what Bludgeon was doing should be considered "illegal", what Scorponok is doing obviously is according to these rules. I would think there are rules for not going nuts and grafting nonsense to your body, especially after what it did to Thunderwing.

So when autobots become headmasters/targetmasters, should we expect Magnus to go after them too?

The shell grafting Thunderwing did was just an experimant. However, I believe Jetfire did say Bludgeon was attempting to recreate Thunderwings outlawed experiments so he was breaking the law, but Thunderwing wasn't so nobody had to go after him.

As Sunstreaker was abducted and Hunter was forced to have teh process done against his will (if that is what they did to him) perhaps Magnus would let them off as they had no choice in the matter. But if they underwent the process willingly, as Scorpinok will likely do, then yeah, I see no reason why Magnus wouldn't hunt them down.

It's quite simple really- neither side wants a third party in the war, nor the revenge of the remains of am 'inferior' planet they've trashed previously. Ergo, don't give them technology that allows them to do that.

I'm sure the Autobots are well used to getting shot at by indiginous creatures by now.

Don't give technology to less advanced civiisations is probably the one and only rule of the accord. I can understand it from a 'con point of view, not wanting the people you're trying to conquer getting super weapons is a good idea. but what about the Autobots? I can see them not wanting to drag others in where possible but what if the Decepticon conquest is at a point where the natives have no choice left but a last desperate resistance? Why not arm them then?

Without having read the Wiki page, the impression of the Tyrest Accords I got from the Ultra Magnus spotlight was certainly less of a Geneva Convention and more a non-proliferation treaty.

Although there would inevitable be some gullible fools that would buy into offers of power, I don't think there are many who would side with the guys that want to suck your world dry of all resources and probably wipe out your species in the process. Surely gaining the many on their side would out weigh the few that are stupid enough to believe Decepticon promises?
