Seems to be, but at that I'm just speculating.

Only reason I can see for him doing that is so people who are planning to make more orders can go to a different source so they don't have to wait while at the same time lightening his future workload.

I see your point. But I dont see anything new in those pictures including the colors. Maybe "new" to people who dont visit TFW2005, but nothing technically new to people who order directly from him. As a matter of fact, if you order from him, you can pick the colors instead of getting a set with his choice of colors grouped together as a "set".

Yeah, the sales pitch for these is -very- exaggerated... I was tempted to pick some of these up at first, but given the short supply they intend to make available and the fact that the 'Limited Color Variations' are very minimal compared to the standard paint job from MJ selections... I'll stick with MJ.

The only real upside I can see to these kits is not having to wait. Where as with MJ people have been waiting close to a year to see their orders completely filled.

The other side of the coin to consider is QC. By placing an order with MJ you may result in better QC because he is producing them by hand. By placing the order through the online retailer, there isn't any QC guarantees

Holy crap... I thought this was enough pieces to customize several Junkions... but it's only enough for one!? Considering complete 3rd-party deluxe-sized figures cost around the same price, I can't say I'm too thrilled... though still tempted, but ouch! These would sell like hotcakes if they produced enough to bring that price down to about $20, which I think is reasonable.

BTW, TRU still has Junkheap for sale online... buy one, get one half-off. That's about $20 for two, which is an awesome deal.

I was hoping that is what mass production was going to mean.

I'd buy several more sets if they were $20 a pop even if they weren't exactly the bits & colors I wanted.

But if I have to buy them a-la-cart at least I get the specific pieces and colors I want.

So what does this mean? Each box will come with all those pieces on it? If so that's a pretty good deal. But I still want to know what they are made of.

That's what I was wondering... and I'd actually purchase one if that was the case. Somehow I doubt it though. Pretty confusing reveal...

Looks nice. What is it made of? ABS or resin?

These look nice and I have seen some Junkeons on the TRU pegs lately... but I just can't bring myself to pay $70 bucks for each new Junkeon on my shelf. Wish these sets were $35-$40--then I'd buy a couple.

I just wish another 3rd Party company would come out with a similar upgrade kit... it's a great idea that could be really profitable if it was made at an affordable price.

I read somewhere this release is only 400 copies? That's a pretty stupid-low number, so no wonder they're not cheap... and that is not "mass production" in my eyes. If they produced a couple thousand at a much cheaper cost... I've no doubt people would eat 'em up.

I have enjoyed seeing the designs but a third party should come out with 100% new Junkion molds instead of add-on sets.

I got my set in and just put it on Junkheap. While the add-ons can be used for ANY Junkion with the same base mold, the colors complement Junkheap the most (but not exactly, like the reds are brighter).

Overall, very easy to put each of the pieces on, but I do caution you to be careful when putting the new axe in Junkheap's hand. Don't try to force the piece in, because I tried to swivel and it pulled some of the paint off the axe handle. The same can be said for the tab of the new spiked wheel that fits in the left arm. But I wouldn't worry too much about that small piece, not going to see it anyways.

I thought the idea of these interchangeable pieces and just how dynamic Maiden Japan went into offering different versions and colors really helps one get the "perfect" Junkion warrior. It may also be a maddening quest to try to rein in urges to buy several sets, because these are far from cheap. I'm glad I ordered this set, and would in interested in a different color scheme/mold in a more widespread production run. Of course, it'd be helpful if another run would be a bit cheaper.

I believe PVC, they don't feel like resin. Not able to find any further info about the material, and it's not listed on the package. Sorry.
