After Shipping that's almost $450. $450 divided by 5 figures equals $90 each. Think paying $90 for 4 deluxes and $90 for a Voyager-Ultra is extremly high.

You're really missing out on a great figure. I pre-ordered it, so I only paid $399 and the shipping came pretty cheap since I use BBTS pile of loot feature.

Just curious, If it was an Overlord figure of the same size would you pay the $400 bucks ? :-?

Unfortunately, living in the UK it's way too expensive for me. I'd wait until it's on the secondary market for a reduced price- the already heft pricetag combined with shipping fees and import tax would wreck my wallet.

I do want him, but I'll wait until he's cheaper.

Everybody in the UK always talks about these customs fees ? Are they really that bad ? Is it more than $20 US dollars ?

Yeah, import duty (especially from the US) is INSANE.

same here.
import duty in the netherlands is 19 or 21% (can't remember which one it was) of the package's total value, plus a handling fee for customs.

Damn. If that was the case, I would have a friend in America buy it for me and send it as a "gift" rather than as a purchase. They could probably list it as being $100 value in the declaration. That would probably reduce the fee greatly. It's not like they are actually gonna open up the package and see what's in it. You can throw them off even more by having your friend send it to you in bubble wrap without the box to reduce the size of the package. Just an idea.

Anyways, I got Afterburner and Nosecone transformed into alt mode finally. Afterburner is scary when you have to rotate that inner wheel to tuck the feet inside. And Nosecone is the most over-complex piece of crap I have ever seen. He is truly a tabbing nightmare. Even with the stinking review, I spent almost an hour getting him transformed. I felt like punching the designer in is f**king face and saying "why did you make it like that ?" Your boy X doesn't like puzzles. I believe in K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid)

Ill touch Scattershot later this week and then combine them. Im pooped.

I do wish that hammer clipped together flush, but oh well, it's a hammer.

Loving the look of these guys. They'll definitely be my Computron unless the Warbotron release totally blows me away for some reason.

unpacked my quantron today. i'm... a bit disappointed. some of the limb bots are extremely complicated and the instructions not being clear about what should happen doesn't help. i've been tampering with the reds car's arms for 5 minutes before they accidentally moved into place.

i think quantron is best as a display item only, because the transformations are not fun at all.

Nice pictoral review. How did you get his spoiler to seat so nicely? The fingers of the fist on mine run into internal clearance issues such that either the spoiler is split a little or the whole spoiler assembly sits slightly back from the body of the car. (I need to post some of my pics...)

A question to those that have the set. I was transforming SonicDrill and notice there was an uneven break in the plastic near the gestalt connector. Is anyone else's figure the same way? or should I request an exchange. Thanks in advance.

Looks like mine is okay. I'm guessing a short shot, where the plastic didn't flow fully into the mold. I don't know what it would be like to replace. If it is only cosmetic, then it is up to you. If it affects function, I'd seriously consider asking for a replacement part or figure...

It looks like its the tab that prevents the spotlights sitting to low in vehicle mode. I've contacted BBTS hopefully they can swap the figure.

Motto: "A man who wants nothing is invincible."
alrighty. i got my quantron finally! i have thoughts and opinions!

i ended up completely backwards on this guy. what i thought id love, i was let down. what i disliked, ended up being my favorite.

lightspeed/celeritas:
i wasnt wow'ed by the car mode in pics, but its pretty nice and solid. and maybe i just have a soft spot because he was the only technobot i owned as a kid. the car kibble poking up from his legs are an annoying bummer, but thats my only negative. he's probably my favorite.

nosecone/sonic drill:
the first one i was surprisingly let down by. his neck platform didnt look like it fit where it was, and his chest splits apart if you look at it funny. also he has one of the most unnecessarily complicated transformations ever. his annoyances carry over to his leg mode...

afterburner/overheat:
in early pics, i hated those hands and the wheels in bot and arm mode. in hand, i absolutely adore him. the wheels on the shoulders fold back pretty far, in arm mode you can leave the wheels together instead of apart like the pics suggest, which to me looks much better. the head sculpt is odd, but oddly lovable. hes posable, and i love him two handing that hammer, so much so that i dont even notice those stupid hands. the way his feet transform are a little scary, but that aside the transformation is fun. and the bike mode is sleek.

strafe/blindfire:
i thought he would have been my favorite, but strange limitations in articulation dampened things. the way his thighs are sculpted, limits his legs ability to come all the way forward, and his feet while on ball joints are hampered by the rest of the calves. maybe these are nitpicks though. virtually everything else about him is pretty great.

scattershot/metalstorm:
damn what a solid figure. super fun to pose, and only really real negative is when trying to incorporate the combiner feet to his bot mode, which you can luckily choose not to do. like nosecone he's kinda complex, but im sure thats mainly due to having to be a combiner torso. so much clicky ratcheting... mmmm....

computron/quantron:
combined mode is brilliant. articulation is great, and he can hold many poses (keyword being hold). the pistons in the arms are a really nice touch. the only thing that dampens his stability is the foot connection on sonic drill. but all i have to do do is remember to hold him together to move the foot. other than that, he may be the most solid 3P combiner i own. though i will say his legs look a little thin when turned to the side. but thats no deal breaker.

i actually have no prior connection to computron. never saw him in the cartoon and only had lightspeed as a kid. to be honest, after growing up and learning more about TF's i found him to be the most forgettable combiner. but i fell in love with this figure in pictures, and i love it in hand. solidity is the biggest enemy of these 3P combiners, and quantron rises to the challenge. being a complete set means he has a hefty price tag, but its worth every penny to me. i cant recommend him enough!
