Because Rescue Bots is awesome and they're too good for Prime.

On a more serious note, the Prime writers likely have the season 3 story all set and planned out for all 13-16 episodes, and likely have little free space room for celebrity guest stars.

And we know that, based on past experiences, whenever there is one, the fans will want to see them again and again, when season 3 is supposed to act like a final season, so there can't be that many loose ends left if they want it to feel like the end of the story (even though there's said to be a fourth season coming, they gotta still treat season 3 like the very end).

Rescue Bots, however, is still growing and expanding upon its world, will ample free room for more celebrities and such. ;)

Hadn't seen a pic of Mark Hamill in a while. Anyone else disturbed that Luke's starting to look just a teensy bit like the Emperor? I mean, more than just the relentless march of time. Just sayin'.

Well, here's hoping his character is the Rescue Bots equivalent of the Joker; maybe an alt that's a "clown car" in that it's a sub-compact that expands to a robot the size of Devastator!

Unless he's voicing Hoist or Medix, I highly doubt he's playing a robot character.

We reported a long while back that legendary actor and voice actor Mark Hamill would be starring as a guest voice on Transformers: Rescue Bots. Now, thanks to website Monsters and Critics not only do we have confirmation tha Hamill will be indeed playing the role of Uncle Woodrow Burns, we also know that Peter Cullen will be appearing as Optimus Prime in the same episode! Check out the description for episode 10 of season 2, 'What Lies Below', and a clip showing off Optimus' trailer below.

“What Lies Below”

Cody’s Uncle Woodrow pays a visit and is determined to find proof that aliens exist beneath the earth’s surface. His findings result in the entire Rescue Team, along with Optimus Prime, going on a mission to save Woodrow and Cody and search for a resource that is vital to the Rescue Bots’ survival, on “Transformers Rescue Bots,” Saturday, April 26 at 1:30 p.m. ET/10:30 a.m. PT on the Hub Network.

Actor Mark Hamill guest stars as Uncle Woodrow, Chief Burns’ adventurous and eccentric younger brother who is convinced there are aliens beneath the earth. Peter Cullen guest stars as Optimus Prime, the supreme leader of the Rescue Bots.

And Prime looks even taller than ever. Sigh. I guess that means I gotta go hunt down that large trailer I was hoping wouldn't make it into the show.

IDR if I've seen full-trailer RB Op at TJMarshaxx yet (I might just be remembering the mobile HQ, which has already come and gone), but the timing seems right, so check there before resorting to full price at the regular stores.

Am I the only one geeking out even harder about the idea of someone looking for aliens who live underground, because it's reminiscent of the one-way phone conversation:

"These things most likely come from the center of the Earth, General...But we have no evidence that they're extraterrestrials...We think it came from the center of the Earth...Whaddya' mean, 'Tell it to the Global Inquirer'?"

I know Hasbro can't be toying with reviving every franchise whose cartoon they've taken off YouTube, but the possibilities of preschool Inhumanoids gives me renewed hope in the face of an otherwise bleak future for decent action cartoons.

Well, given the description, be myguess that Crazy Unce Woodrow has found Energon, possibly explosive, requiring the Rescue Bot presence, and Optimus Prime is there for "Yay Product Placement!"

Well, based on the description for the episode after the one this article talks about, it looks like these will be a two-parter and that there's definitely something extraordinary down there. Some kind of "primeval world" according the TV listings.

I'm thinking that that place could be the source for them as well, but those forms aren't supposed to come until season 3. So maybe they go back there next year or something.
