Then his uncle got killed, aunt may has always been dying, he has no family aside form her, I have never heard of some cousin visiting.

He got buried in concrete in at least one comic I read I think it was the maximum Carnage from a while back, so in short I do not think he had a sunshiny life before either.

Uncle Ben died in Amazing Fantasy 15, that's befor the first ish of Amazing Spier-Man back in 1962!
Spier-Man wasn't buried in concrete in Maximum Carnage, you must be confusing that with something els. But his live has always been f***ed up.

He's been married to Mary Jane Watson for some time now. That's gotta count for something.

A.) Thanks. Care to post any other spoilers for comics that haven't come out yet?

B.) Wait, she hasn't even been in that comic, outside of the Nimrod storyline. And next she's going to be in Fantastic Four.

Ah, yes. I felt a morbid sort of nostalgia when I went to the local bookstore and saw several comics bearing The Cover.

You know, The Cover? the superhero holding his dead love with a look of pure, agonized constipation on his face? That cover?

As stated formerly, killing off regs has been an emotion-jerk tactic for a very long time. They never stay dead. Even if the writers are jumping up and down screaming otherwise right now, once the controversy is over, they'll be back, in rebooted form if they can't get away with anything else.

Will this end with the responsible party waking up in a Latverian dungeon? That might be worth reading just for the pictures (as long as one of them isn't the Doc holding [Spoiler Deleted]'s body and looking constipated. If she goes down, let her husband pose for the sympathy donations of Ex-Lax).

And then they've killed off Corsair.

meh. No big loss really, but it might make for a good story between Havok and his baby brother.

That and the since that because death isn't permanent so all the grief that a character goes through seems utterly worthless.

Agreed, the whole thing with Colossus, sacrificing himself to cure the legacy virus, totally ruined the nobility of it all when they brought him back.

You mean 2 of them? X-Men isn't, New X-Men isn't, Cable and Deadpool isn't, X-Factor isn't, New Excalibur isn't, Wolverine isn't...

You're still not missing anything. The whole thing is rather anti-climatic. Basically he's a whiney punk that we've never seen before, and somehow we have to accept a whole chunck of X-history has been rewritten.
