There is no other movie scheduled for that date yet.

The first film, released on May 4, has earned $1.462 billion at the worldwide box office, which makes it the third-biggest release ever trailing only James Cameron's Titanic ($2.185 billion) and Avatar ($2.782 billion). "The Avengers" has earned $617.3 million domestically and $844.6 million overseas.

The team-up sequel will be preceded by Iron Man 3 on May 3, 2013, Thor: The Dark World on November 8, 2013, Captain America: The Winter Soldier on April 4, 2014 and Guardians of the Galaxy on August 1, 2014.

It is possible that Ant-Man will hit theaters before "The Avengers 2" as well, though a release date has not yet been set.

With all of these awesome Marvel movies coming out, it makes me think DC Comics actually just doesn't care about money.

They're trying to have another go with Superman. And apparently they're still planning a Green Lantern sequel as well. And also the Justice League movie, which DC insists will not be done in an interconnected way like Avengers, Nolan specifically said he doesn't want to do things just because Marvel was successful with it.

Thats a pity, seeing as how linking the new superman, green lantern 2, and a new batman all together into the justice league (With corrosponding characters they would meet in said sequels) It would work. Also, Green Lantern ended with Sinestro putting on the yellow ring anyway, so a sequel is a given. I hope that they bring in the other color lanterns as well. I liked the Green Lantern, and I dont know why people hated it so much. All the animation errors were the kind that you only notice AFTER they are pointed out to you anyway.

Yeah, it worked for Marvel, but that's why DC doesn't want to do it, copying a successful rival is step 1 in the recipe for disaster.

Well, no, sequels aren't green lighted (...wow) because the script calls for it. The game Advent Rising is a good example, it was supposed to be a trilogy, and ended on a cliffhanger, but it performed so poorly that no sequel is coming any time soon.

It's not so much animation errors, it's that the movie was a lot of haphazard special effects and exposition. Mind you, I still liked it, but I don't get to set the standard of quality.

I honestly hope there isn't a justice league movie. I honestly think that if it would be terrible. I don't know WHY I think that, its just a gut feeling. And with a gut as big as mine, you HAVE to trust it.

That said, I hope they do sequal "Green Lantern". Especialy a big screen version of "Blackest Day". But thats just me.
