so now instead of looking like freddy kreugars anus, he looks like the monster dude in jeepers creepers. definatly and improvement, and a truly wasome freakishly cool monstercon, but not megs.

Why does he have sharp carnivarious teeth?

Is Energon that hard to bite?

Uhhhh... that looks almost identical to the first head we saw that so many people were upset with. It looks more humanoid than the second head we've seen but it feels like two steps back and one step forward.

I think I like this Battle Mode more than anything so far, even though he still looks monstrous.

True. The battle-made helmet is a huge improvement over what we've seen previously and actually looks like something of a fitting homage. It actually looks like a helmet and not just shields for the sides of his face. If they'd just get rid of the stupid teeth (how necessary are they, really?) I think I'd be satisfied.

Now what I'm wondering is, if this is going to be how he looks in the movie, why does the prototype figure and the children's book covers all have him with his 'Jazz Hands!' fish-skull face?

I have a theory: Most of what we are seeing to date via merchandise was finalized a few months ago - while the CGI render was still being tweaked. Therefore, most products aren't going to match the final CGI.

For example, the in-package toy photos. The "portaits" of some are different, noticably - the eyes. All of the bot images with small glowing blue eyes seem more concept artsy, where as images like Blackout - seem to be full CGI renders. Blackout's eyes match some of the more recent stuff we've seen, and is likely the final version. If that's the case, we haven't seen "finalized" versions of most faces yet - although I bet we will thanks to the toyfair.

Notice how different Barricade's face is on the kids book, versus the toy head, versus the portrait on the box. And I think the toys are the most behind as far as accuracy goes.

Pretty much waht I was thinking abou the teeth. I have not read the script, but I wonder what purpose they serve on alien robots.

Well, I can at least see some G1 influence in the normal mode, which is a vast improvement. Problem is, battle mode makes him not look like Megatron anymore...

This is just bad. Certainly nothing like Megatron. Definitely skipping this sci-fi movie. I wish they would make a TF movie.

You know, the more I look at that, the more I think the normal mode armor looks like his G1 helmet and in reconstruction by Teletran or by CR repairs never slid back into place properly.

It looks better than the original, but that's like saying a gunshot to the foot is better than one to the head.

Yeah, I'd much rather get shot in the foot then in the head.

Like the old mafia saying goes: "Three to the head, you know their dead."

Still as badass as ever. I love the alien creepyness of it all.

Well, it's an improvement. It may not be the best Megs head, but it really has an "alien-robot-who-wants-to-destroy-the-world" vibe.

This is a big improvement! I hated everything about the movie, but I see this as a big step forward . It seems that this is the only robot with a humanoid face - I could imagine that it took a while to convince Bay to compromise the changing of the generic, manga-spawn look. I wish they took this approach to the other bots - especially starscream who looks like a gorilla-jackolantern with chicken legs.

Kinda makes you wonder what the point of changing it was at all :???:

Actually, only the Decepticons seem to have bug-like faces. The Autobots seem to have semi-normal faces, though smooth like in the cartoons and comics.
