Metroplex

So...will there ever be any upgrade sets for Metroplex or along another line - would it be feasible that Hasbro might consider making a FOC Metroplex? They've done big toys in the past (Super Star Scream, etc...).

I just ordered the reprolable set for my Metroplex and was sitting here looking at him thinking, it would be easy enough to do some upgraded fists, weapons, etc.

Anybody have any thoughts on this?

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if we see a FOC Metroplex and Trypticon playset in the Spring to go with the post-holiday reset. The voyagers will be switching over to Generations/FOC, as will legends, which leads me to believe that many of the other toy classes will convert to Generations/FOC as well.

Hasbro teased a FOC Metroplex, linking it to Hasbro's other $100 toys in other lines such as Mavel or Star Wars. If it comes to pass, cool. If not then it's a shame but I won't be broken up about it.

When did they do that? I know at one point they said they were considering a Trypticon, but didn't know how to make it work, what with him transforming into a astroid or something in WFC.

It was only a hint, nothing concrete, sadly. And Trypticon could transform into the Nemesis! :D

You should probably throw a spoiler tag on that :-B

I'd love a Trypticon/space station-y thing-y/Nemesis, or even a Metroplex (that becomes a Cyberverse playset?) but doubt they'll happen. Will be pee my pants excited if it does, in theory, but not gonna worry about drinking a lot of fluids whilst reading the web just yet, ta very much.

Double spoiler, I guess? I'm not caught up on Prime, but I thought we were talking about FOC. :-x

Pfft. It was stated in one of the novels that Trypticon's remains were used to create the Nemesis (sorry about the overly brought up spoiler). There's an episode in Prime called "Flying Mind" where the Nemesis gets fused with Dark Energon and has a mind of it's own, but that's not the first time we learned of Trypticon's existence as the ship.

I'm sorry, back to FOC.

Or merely living in Europe...

With the pathetic attempt at baseformers that came out recently I wouldn't expect much if they DID try Met and Tryp.

I would buy both Metroplex and Trypticon in a heartbeat.

Okay, on a related note - my Metroplex was picked up on Ebay. They had everything, all parts, missiles, instruction and even the techspec decoder. (No box though :-( )

But he's got some dirty areas on him, like inside his knee panel is all covered in dirt or rust or something, Slammer has some kind of giant booger inside his shell (it might be some kind of adhesive)

And seems I just spent a fotune picking up the X-5, 6 & 11 Reprosets I figured I'd give everything a good wash.

Any suggestions? I was planning on submerging everything in Dawn dishwasher soap and lots of warm water, but with a small touch of bleach (just to be safe). I don't care about the stickers, they're coming off anyway, but I'm worried it might affect his face.

Same, it's been too long since Hasbro has released either. New versions of both would be awesome!

As a follow up to my "cleaning" question - Yeah...it turns out even a little bleach will eat the silver right off his face.

So now he's spotless, clean as a whistle, but he's got a yellow plastic face...lol - www.paxcybertron.wordpress.com

Anyone want a clean, but non-silverfaced Metroplex? Send me a PM.

*sigh*.

Oh man! Yeah, sorry I didn't see this sooner, but bleach is awful for plastics :-( Next time, try Retrobrite. There's also a good thread in the toys forum, I think it's stickied at top of the thread list, about how to clean your toys properly. It's like 60 pages, but there's some good stuff in there.

That book was Exiles. Also, in FOC, there's a mission where you play as Megatron to recover Trypticon (which was captured by the Autobots), and sort of screw with his source code (Robots have source codes?) and permanently transform him into battleship mode, as the Nemesis. Something along those lines.

Hey, no problem, lesson learned and I ended up just buying an Encore Metroplex anyway. I'm going to list the "bleached" face on ebay today. Someone could easily paint his face to match FOC more or something like that.

metroplex would be a challenge to make or at least make look good but now that trypticon is the nemesis he should be easier to make than the WFC gunship. and i reaaalllly hope they do make a trypticon/nemesis figure an ark figure would be cool but i guess it would be a transformer but it could still be a base
