Do you think Bay gives a crap about the fans? No. He is just doing his job and by the sounds of it he simply enjoys working with the source material so he wants to make more, that and anything with the TF name on it will make a shedload of money. He doesnt care about fans, he doesnt have any sort of sentimental connection to the source material like we do. He just wants to do his job and have fun and earn a living and the studio just want to make a crapload of money again. This is the movie business, thats how things work.

If anything we owe Bay after the shameful way that "fans" have acted towards him and his work.

Well, I don't care anymore how the bots are going to look like because Bay will make them very ugly and unrecognizable, but I'm excited to see the second movie!

I wonder if the Decepticons will get personalities this time around (aside from Megatron & Frenzy).

Seriously, they could make ultra magnus and cyclonus, for all I care.
Any progress will be ruined by some useless plot angle regarding some over-the-top stereotypical minority character as "comic relief".
Or maybe we can have one of these new and interesting Transformer characters take a dump on someone in this movie.
Or maybe we can have the constructicons in the movie for five minutes before some really brave army guy jumps off of high building, pops his parachute, and kills him by shooting him with a slingshot and a grenade.

*The movie isn't baised around humans
*It has the same characters from transformers one
*There is no time traviling (In the screen play or otherwise)
*It dosen't hire any one from high school musical or hair spray
*They dont brake in to song
*Or dance
*Is realistic(Or as realistic as transformers can get)
*It dose not contain sex seans
*The robots don't fall in love
*we don't find out the robot can reproduce
*the animation is still as good as the first film
*None of the autobots get owned by arcce (if she in the flim)
*It dose not turn into a chick flick

don't worry I'll come up with some more my mayger consern is that it won't be set on earth or based around the characters and story line as the first film.

I feel the same way - I hope they introduce a good amount like 5 - 6 new bots while developing further the surviving ones from the first.

I dont think bay would lie about something good for the movie so i guess hes not lying.

I hope Soundwaves in it! If Bay sticks to making all the Decepticons military or authoritative vehicles he should make Soundwave a stealth bomber! It would remind me of Soundwave from the cybertron series a little bit.

Now if we can just get through to the completionists, and gift givers who don't know any better, maybe one day they'll take a hint. You know repaints have always been around, but each line just seems to be getting more and more reliant upon them than new figures.

I know all that, Liege, thanks. But ME not buying stooopid repaints has nothing to do with Hasbro putting off toy lines like Animated and Uni/Classics 2.0 because they are too busy milking the Movie line. I DO NOT want to see that happen to whatever non-Movie line(s) is/are scheduled for release after TF2. Having to wait roughly a year to get to the good stuff, while Hasbro milks the Movie line, will be hard enough in 2008. I REALLY DO NOT want to have to play the waiting game of 2008 all over again after TF2.

I didn't know robots were vunerable there. Maybe that one had explosive privates

As usual, I post a story and forget to actually comment on it...

I hope "unique" isn't code for "ugly". I loved the design style for the movie bots since day one, but I still had a hard time stomaching some of the really "unique" bots like Frenzy (who I still think is an ugly little POS). But a character like Bonecrusher is unique without being weird. The roller blade feet, stretchy arms and shoulder-spikes that form a giant capture claw are all very "unique" but don't make the design ugly.

Anyway, I guess it's safe to say that the movie cast for the sequel is already finalised. Before this news broke, I had heard on the DVD bonus stuff that Bay originally wanted more bots in the first film, which got me excited to think that he would probably get his wish for movie no.2, since the film turned out to be such a huge money maker, for the box office and for Hasbro.

Funny, I thought 13 TFs in the first movie was "alot" - the sequel could turn out to be some pretty wicked stuff, let's just hope Bay doesn't bite off more than he can chew.

What we really need is an official odds line from the MGM grand on who will show up. It would probably be like:

Soundwave: 3:2
Skyfire/Jetfire: 2:1
Wheeljack: 3:1
Thundercracker: 3:1
Constructicons/Combiner: 5:2
Arcee: 4:1
Perceptor: 10:1
Ultra Magnus: 12:1
Wheelie: 100:1

I'd put $50 on Skyfire as an autobot counterpart to Starscream, and take $100 minus the rake...
