Missing in Action...?

Okay I've been in and out of town over the last month or so (long story involving my oldest daughter and medical issues), anyway, I came home yesterday and decided to clean my fish tank today. As I was searching for the three fish which occupy the tank (two danios and a sucker fish) I was only able to find two. I searched high and low for the second danio but to no avail. My question is, do sucker fish eat dead fish? It's my only expanation.

This kinda sucks because now I can't let my remaining danio swim all alone, they like to school and he kinda looks lonely in there by himself. I really didn't want to buy two more fish.

Oy, it's been a long month.

I've discovered when it comes to fish, almost anything is possible.

One time my brother and I won two goldfish from a carnival.

My mom already had an angel fish.

We put the goldfish in with the angel fish.

Well that night my brother's goldfish ATE my goldfish and my mom's angel fish.

The next night we came down stairs the next morning to see it then kill himself...

Must have been his guilty conscience :P

Yep, fish will eat other fish. Don't let those big vacant eyes fool you, they hide the sadistic mind of a canibalistic killer.

Yeah, after doing a little research I discovered that sucker fish will indeed eat a dead fish, and some certain sucker fish will actually go after live fish as well. My sucker fish will barely touch the algea on the tank, but sure will eat another dead fish. :-?

They can jump out of the tank. Look around, If you don't have a cat it may be underneath the stand or a chair.
I got up one morning and stepped on something gross. It was my pleco. He was still alive though so I tossed it back in the tank.

My problem is I have a shubunkin I bought 2 years ago with intentions of a turtle to eat it, only it didn't. I got rid of the turtle, but that fish just keeps getting bigger.

Wow, I wish I could keep fish! Whenever I always got a fish, it would always end up dying on me. On of the places that was a favorite dying place was the filter intake tube. I would come by and find it stuck to the tube by its suction. I would release the fish, but it would always get stuck again. I tried to lower the suction force, but it didn't help. So I gave up fish. I think suckerfish clean up the leftover food scraps from other fish, but I could be wrong on that.

If you mean plecos? Yes they will eat dead fish, or anything thats rotten for that matter.

How big is your pleco? What type is it as well. The larger and older they get the more dominant and aggressive they get.

I had one live to be 9 yrs old, just died a few months back, and was over a foot long. He was a domestic pleco, or common pleco.

I used to work at a pets store and was the fish know it all, yippee for me :P
