Anyone else here an MMA fan? I love MMA particularly the U.F.C.
Ive watched it from the 1st one through the last one. If you havnt watched it before you should. Its great. Blows boxing away. Infact, some would say it killed boxing.
Anyone else take MMA? Five to eight yrs ago, youd have to fly to brazil or japan to learn TRUE mma with TRUE jujitsu. Now you can go all over the U.S. and find liscenced gracie baja jujitsu teachers. I have taken muithai and jujitsu for almost three yrs now. Before that I wrestled all foru yrs of highschool and boxed for a yr.
I love it. I have had to slow down a bit since I took on a second job, but Im gonna pick it back up full time this fall. I wanna go to tournaments ultimately. Ofcourse you hafta be insanely tallented to REALY excel in this sport, but I bet I could become a local or reigonal top contender.
Anyone else love MMA?

I'm a black-belt in TaeKwonDoe and have been watching MMA for awhile. Really respect the amount of work these fighters put in day in and day out.

Haven't watched any MMA matches for quite some time. I usually try to catch Dan Henderson though. That guy is tough.

I used to watch UFC in the 90s when Tito Ortiz and Ken Shamrock were still a big deal. Then I just kinda stopped around 2000, and picked it back up in 2008 or 2009, whenever Brock Lesnar got into it. Haven't watched since he lost the title.

Youre not too far behiend then. I always thought lestner would have a suspect chin. He should have lost to carwin but for whatever reason the ref didnt call the fight.
I gotta say I never saw him loosing to kane valesquez though. All those guys hit so damn hard though all it takes is one landed shot and its a wrap.
My all time fav and the guy who got me physically active into mma is wanderlei silva.
In his prime that man fas a fu*#!ng terror!! I have never seen a man take the kind of shots hes taken and still be standing much less answer back with one of his own right after. His recovery time was amazing. I hate to see that he has gotten old and unable to take, or dish out the kind of dammage he used to. He just got tko'ed by chris leeban a few weeks ago. I hope he goes ahead and retires now. I dont wanna see him get hurt.
:-(

Some of those guys stay past their primes because that's all they know how to do.

Thats one reason. Biggest reason is that they simply LOVE the sport. Top fighters like silva have been doing this since they were nine yrs old. They are set financially. Believe that. They just cant think of life without the sport for both reasons listed above. Sad realy.
