You know why I'm loving this? The original Hexatron (complete with shuriken and swords) is gonna come way down in price now on eBay and I might be able to get one.

Yeah. I would get this reissue but the smaller wings and new guns ain't doing it for me, the colours barely look any different and the lack of swords and shuriken is a major bummer. I can see the appeal as he does look more cartoon accurate (it was Headmasters he appeared in, right? I'm not counting The Rebirth because he literally did nothing but show off all his forms in that) but the original just looks more fun.

granted i didnt check everywhere, but he does seem to out of stock in all other major online retailers.

I missed the boat on the original Hex, so I'm definitely picking this one up. I'm not bothered about the lack of swords and shuriken since I've only really liked the IDW version of Sixshot (was never a fan of the Headmasters cartoon). If I did want swords for him I'd just get the Stag Cleavers as they look a hell of a lot better than the original Hex swords.

As for the colours - I actually prefer this version based on photos, with the only exception being the odd duck-egg blue colour on the wings at the back. If it looks poor in hand I guess I can just re-paint them.

Although a lighter shade, the blue-ish wings at the back of the Hex Continuum are closer to the original too. They've obviously gone for a more G1 accurate look on this version.

Thanks for the video link. I enjoyed the review.

The best and funniest part was hearing the reviewer do the, peaugh, peaugh, gun noises, when the toy was in gun mode.

i think this guy is my next priority. i want him a lot more than my passing fancy towards the first hex release.

Yea, I've gotten very used to the new look. Originally, I was going to keep my old one as well, but I've already sold it.

I kind of want this because of the better tailfins. Not digging the baby blue wings though because it's not cartoon accurate. Im trying not to double dip. Anybody have both versions side by side for comparison pics ?

Think less baby blue, and more light gray with a tinge of blue - like the G1 toy.

Kind of wish we got some more of that pink line-detailing on the legs instead of gold, but I can live with it. He seems great; can't wait to arm him up with my Stag Cleavers...

Love the new chrome guns and new head, Just not enough to buy the whole figure again.

Anyways, Still not liking the the slightly newer colors, new chest wings, no swords and no sheath's.

I'd be interested in a kit with just the new head and new chrome guns if MMC, SXS or Dr Wu decides to create them.

Might be interested in buying the Clone Droid SixShot, If it's a few inches taller in robot mode.

Guessing at some point SXS, Dr Wu or someone else with create Hexatron guns and head that look like the Continuum versions.

I just received my Hexatron Continuum today. I have always had an interest in getting the original Terminus Hexatron, but the various 30th Anniversary figures had priority.

This figure is awesome. I prefer the sculpt of the Continuum version over the original, as it better matches the Sixshot character in both the old cartoon and in the IDW comics. Transformation between modes is pretty simple, but the alternate modes are solid and convincing. This is what I always wanted my G1 Sixshot toy to be.

I haven't tried playing around with making modes of my own yet, but the number of joints capable of rotation seem to give one quite a bit of leeway in that aspect.

This is my first figure from MMC. I am quite happy with the build quality. The plastic and the joints seem pretty sturdy and it can hold a number of poses. With that in mind, I wouldn't mind buying another MMC figure. I'm hoping that I can afford Carnifex (IDW Overlord) and the DJD figures when they come out.

First it has to have the best box art ever and the platic one inside is cool its got that vintage look

The new green and purple paint or is it a new plastic? What ever it is looks so good all shiny

Its like the difference between hasbro and takara and continuum is takaras effort

The chest wings chrome guns new head chrome wheels are awesome it a complete new look, Its like hexatron has had the mp treatment

So glad maz put that review up as i would have bothered, if you have the first and like it as much as i do and are on the fence for continuum just go for it

I got him a couple of weeks back and he's not left my desk ever since. Absolutely love him.

I gave in to my temptations and double dipped.

I couldn't resist the new smaller tailfins that wont get in the damn way when you try to pose the arms. I never needed all that ninja crap anyways. The chrome and metallic paint is also a plus. And the better head and shorter guns are a win in my book. Still not loving the light blue wings but those screws will make it an easy wing swap. Ninja Sixshot will then join my Japanese Decepticon shelf.

You'll also notice that the chest area where the wing pins insert are thicker, so there won't be hairline cracks and breakage like on the original Hexatron (at least, that was my experience).

It's less metallic paint and more of a gloss finish. It's still stunning, though - really complements the chrome.

I think you'll see that the blue-tinted wings complement the updated color scheme quite well. In most lights, they match the silver highlights elsewhere on the figure (such as on the chest wings and the legs).


Overall, you're in for a real treat.

Awesome ! Thanks for details. Im even more excited now. The BBTS description reads 70% of the figure is painted. is that really accurate ? I thought only the purple parts were painted ? Is the teal glossed ?

The BBTS description says there's a metallic paint/finish, which is simply not the case. But, from looking at the thing, it seems the teal and purple parts are molded plastic, and that all those teal and purple parts are glossed. The promo photos on the BBTS/TFsource product pages don't really do this guy justice.

Cool. So it's kind of like a Takara vs Hasbro paint scheme difference ? (not saying its metallic but that different from original)
