Just an odd question here for anyone thats moved but basically im moving into a brand new house at the end of this month. We have to get the Phone line connected and ive been TOLD that when i move house connecting my broadband should be like this
Move into new house
connect router into phone line
turn on router
contact my internet prover
tell them i have moved and give them new number
tell them router is on NOW
there ment to do everything on there end
My internet should be working again in about an hour or so
Basically my friend kevin said thats HOW its ment to go. Ive only had a router in the past 2 years yet i have lived in this property for the past 4 and this is the first time im moving with the router
can anyone confirm for me this is how its ment to work OR is it a case were i have to wait 2 weeks for them to reconnect me and then i have to do all the work on my end resetting the router and then doing everything manually again

If you're with the same ISP and you haven't changed your password then that should be it.

Provided the area you're moving to is serviced by the same ISP, and the house is properly wired, I don't see why not.
That said, you may want to give them a call before hand, just in case.

Yeah pretty much. Everything should be activated on their end, the only set up you need to do is to ensure the correct password is in the router and then make sure your computer can talk to your router.
